First Mission: Completed

The Larvae were all chirping to their mother. They all sounded sad like they could tell she was going to die. "Sucks to be them" Jacob was ready to walk away when he heard a squeal reach out to him.

He turned back with a confused look. "Me?" Jacob could tell it was trying to talk to him. She nudged the little ones toward him and he could pretty much guess what she was saying. She continued making more noises.

"You want me to take these guys?" Her eyes lit up in her state and Jacob suddenly found it hard to deny her. She looked genuinely hopeful.

"I really can't" Jacob was hoping she would back down, but she kept insisting. He felt like she was the only one who could take them, he was her only hope. Jacob knew this and understood, he took the termite larvae and walked away, wasting no time. They squealed and squirmed but he grabbed them and walked away.

He didn't want to wait anymore, he wanted to keep moving.

He walked away and then he heard the larva die, he could tell because her body was not breathing. Jacob walked far enough after he realized this then he put the ball on the ground. "Here's your spots ya little shits..Dig a hole and don't die…...here you can have some of these to make you stronger."

Jacob only wanted the mother larva peace of mind. Jacob never had any intentions of keeping them like travel buddies. He had it hard enough on his own, furthermore, they were weak, nurturing them would prove futile. Jacob walked away, when he looked back he could see them following him, "You're not my problem, I gave you a path for a good life and revenge. If you follow me and die I won't feel bad. I have no one to feel bad for me."

As Jacob said this, prompts started flashing in front of his face in the familiar purple lettering.

[First Mission (Complete)]

Jacob was happy, it was finally time for him to reap the benefits of his hard work. He clicked on the first reward, the only information on it was 'Book of Forgings'. "Well, that helps a ton it explains everything!" Jacob was almost used to the vagueness of the system and had some guesses why.

Jacob selected yes and the book fell into his head softly. He was eager to crack it open but he waited.

It did not come with any picture depicting the Item, it was just the words. "Full System Lock surely means there is more, So I doubt there will be any harm in using it now. The mission pass sounds like a free pass on a mission, so...."

"Yes"

Purple lights flashed and disappeared. Soon after a timer appeared in front of him.

"What? One day? I shouldn't have used it, I think It's safer I don't go anywhere without it". Jacob cursed himself for not thinking, but if it wasn't now it would have had to be later. So he never thought of it.

Although on the other hand, he would have to wait in the cave systems, In the open. He could walk in the other direction, but then the termite larvae would follow him again and see their mother again.

"Sigh, It's tiresome being a good soul" He set his bag down on the wall and laid an essence crystal along the walls to make the tunnel have enough light. After he did that he took out the Book Of Forgings.

"Lets' see what this has to offer" He opened the book and read its content. The book was weird, the dialect used was almost unheard of, It sounded like something from the bible. It went on to describe the anatomy of human beings. It compared the human bone structure to dirt.

The density of the bones was like loose soil, after every forging it was like bringing it together making your bones almost unbreakable. It was about getting the perfect density, but it also contradicted itself saying that bones will always be breakable somehow.

"Well, that was a headache, but it was very helpful. I understood most of it. If I was fighting someone with the same forgings as me, It would be possible for our bones to break depending on how long we fight."

Jacob continued to read the book and it went on to say that forging required a strong mentality and nutrition. It could also be achieved through repealed bone breaking.

What! So was that lady intentionally breaking my bones? It seemed like she wanted to break my mind from the inside" It fit exactly to Jacob's understanding but Maybe it was just a coincidence. There were still a lot of things he never understood.

He never thought about it.

"So all I need is nutrition, I think I'm pretty healthy so I shouldn't have to worry about it. But I don't understand the mentality. Is it about how well I understand the book? Or maybe how smart I am". Jacob thought and chuckled, "A Lot of things will be more clearer 24 hours from now on"

He read more of the book. It was a good book. You could tell that the person was powerful. It was more of intuition but it almost like telling how good some were after watching them build something. After reading some more he finally felt something he hadn't felt in a long time.

*Grrrrrr*

His stomach growled. The larvae were all sleeping and jumped out of their sleep. "Oh please, you guys always do the most, go and sleep" Jacob turned to his side and continued reading his book.
