The woman slowly walked up to her, reaching out and cupping her cheeks " dear child, it will be over soon." is all she said before walking out the room as guards rush in with whips.

Jumping up from her bed with a tear-stained face & her back drenched in sweat Xinyi slowly got up and walked to the mirror. After checking her body and making sure she was dreaming, she headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day. She quickly threw on some mom jeans and a pale blue crop top, leaving her shoulder-length curly hair down and only putting on lip gloss on her full lips. She ran downstairs."Aunty Chen! Where is the fruit?" she yelled as she flew into the kitchen.

"Slow down, young miss!" Aunty Chen laughed as she followed after Xinyi, handing her a basket full of fruit and snacks. Aunty Chen had to remind the young miss, " don't stay out too long you have a class today, and you can't be late-" she paused and shook her head because the young lady was already gone. She went back to cleaning.

Hopping around the market, Xinyi was trying her hardest to make it to the tea shop at the end of the road as quickly as she could. Xinyi paid no attention to her surroundings. The bystanders were mesmerized by the young girl with the caramel skin " she's glowing." One grandma whispered to her friends.

As she reached the small tea shop, sweat beads gleamed on her forehead. Xinyi sat on a chair while she waited on her best friend. Soon a man in his early sixties walked out of the shop and sat in front of her. "How are you, my dear?" "Hello, grandpa!"
