199 A Guest

"I see. Thanks for the gifts." The king said before hanging up.

"Both of the claim that the black box is their gift. It seems one of them is lying." The king turned to speak to his son.

"In this case, it would seem like General Lester is the one lying. However…" Kazuki trailed off.

"The enemy could purposely swap their gifts to make us lose trust in General Lester." The kind said as he sighed heavily.

Just as the atmosphere was heavy, a knock came from outside the door.

Knock. Knock.

"Your majesty, Minister Lowel has sent you some gifts." A maid's voice sounded from the other side of the door.

"Bring them in." The king demanded as he guessed that the gift was probably a tea box and medicine box yet again.

The maid then entered, holding a bag. She then placed the bag on the floor before bowing and exiting the room.

Kazuki picked the bag up and opened it to find a tea box and a medicine box with a different packaging than the other gifts.

"As expected, it's the same." Kazuki said as he handed the gift to one of the research team members for them to check this one too.

"From now on, they'll probably be gifts like this sent to us. Accept them all and let the research team check on all of them. Be sure not to use any gifts that we have received." The king ordered.

"Understood!" Kazuki said with a serious face.

After that, there were several gifts sent by the ministers and all of them were the same. About two months had passed and it seemed like the enemy had given up with the gift tactic as the amount of gifts suddenly died down.

The former king had travelled to the human world to help assist the investigation team but to no avail. It was very hard to track down the enemy's location. The enemy didn't contact Rena at all, as if he knew that she had already told Kazuya everything.

In Imperial Garden

Ventina had finished her imperial doctor exam a few days ago and she was finally free to visit the human world.

As today was a weekend, Kazuya was out searching for the enemy once again. Ven also stayed behind to accompany Lilica as usual when suddenly, the doorbell rang.

One of the servants then came in and said, "Second Princess, a lady who claims that she is your friend is here to visit. She claims that her name is Ventina."

Lilica and Ven didn't know that Ventina was visiting at all since she hadn't mentioned anything about visiting to the two of them.

"Let her in." Lilica replied with a smiled. She was now into her seventh month of pregnancy and walking had become a little tiring to her. Her stomach had become as big as twins would usually be, making Kazuya feel relieved. It seems like the reason it was small before was because her body was still adjusting to the energy she received from Kazuya.

"Ven, go greet your wife. You haven't seen each other for the last two months, am I right?" Lilica teased him.

"She's not technically my wife yet. I haven't even go greet her parents yet." Ven retorted. However, to him, the word 'wife' had a nice ring to it, making him feel a little happy.

Ven then walked to the front door to go greet Ventina.

The maid opened the front door and Ventina walked inside cheerfully.

When she saw Ven, she quickly rushed up to hug him as she said, "Little Ven! How I missed you!"

Ven was about to refute the word 'little', but when he heard her say that she missed him, all those feelings disappeared.

"I missed you too." Ven said as he hugged her back and cupped her chin, bringing i close to him for a kiss.

The couple kissed for about a minute, as if there was only the two of them in this whole world when the maid suddenly interrupted, "Ahem! The second princess is waiting."

As the maid, part of her job was to bring the guests to the master too so she had to wait for the couple to finish their flirting, but it seems like they weren't stopping anytime soon so she had to interrupt them.

"Oh, we'll go there by ourselves." Ven said to the maid as he placed his hand on Ventina's waist intimately.

"Understood." The maid replied as she bowed and excused herself.
