5 Hard-work and Patience

Year 2012

It was Zhao Ting Ting's 20 th birthday in the beginning of January, Gao He Lan waited for her outside her house planning to surprise her with flowers and cake. They've been together for two years, all seemed well until one day everything changed. It was in the middle of winter when snow was still falling in the city of Shanghai.

He Lan waited for Ting Ting for an hour but to no avail. It seemed her family was not around during that time. He was disappointed and left her house but not long after, He Lan saw Ting Ting with Lu Ting, one of his university classmate. Lu Ting was already a successful lawyer and Ting Ting's parents allowed them to get married as soon as possible. During this time, He Lan was not successful yet. He was only 24 years old. Ting Ting's parents felt like Lu Ting was more suitable for their daughter rather than He Lan.

That day, after he saw Lu Ting kissed Ting Ting, his whole world became upside down. It was all true, her parents did tell him that he needed to be successful in order to marry their daughter. He was heartbroken but he did not show his face when he saw them together. He quietly went away without any sound. It's okay for Ting Ting to like someone else since it wasn't his nature to fight back. He didn't want to make anything worse.

He spent this time to study more to forget about the incident but he wasn't very successful. He cried every night but every morning, he will work hard to make her proud one day.

Year 2016

During this time, He Lan received a phone call saying his father passed away from brain cancer. He will be the next heir to the most powerful empire, MX Empire back in Shanghai. He Lan sets up his mind and let the past be buried. He will only look forward from now on. It was very hard for him to accept at first but then as time goes on, he was getting better.

Ting Ting noticed He Lan wasn't calling her for a while but she didn't think about him from that moment on. She didn't want to think about anyone else except for Lu Ting who will be her husband soon. Ting Ting gradually forgotten about the love she had for He Lan for many months. She came to love Lu Ting more, he was much more successful than He Lan. Even though she did love He Lan, she didn't believe he will give her happiness she wanted. She buried He Lan in the back of her mind. She never thought about him ever again.

When working got busier every single day, her mind always thought about working and married to Lu Ting then having their own small family with a child. It was only her wishes that she wanted to fulfill. Ting Ting never contacted He Lan for many months and she doesn't know he will become a very successful tycoon.

Gao He Lan studied business abroad and got his MBA degree from Stanford University. He was 28 at this time and was very gifted in learning. He Lan studied more about his father's business as he slowly rises to the top in a very short amount of time. He officially became the most youngest and successful tycoon of all time by the end of the year.

But, all this time, He Lan wished Ting Ting can call him at least once of month but her call never came.

Gao He Lan went to many business convention centers in the surrounding cities to talk about his journey into becoming the most successful tycoon for the past few months. Even though he was a billionaire, besides doing his businesses, he also have a strange hobby ever since one of his close friend's wife who became pregnant through IUI with artificial insemination (process of getting a woman pregnant with injected sperms inside a woman's vagina) after failing many times. He became interested in helping women with infertility during his time in university...perhaps he may already helped a family already.

Gao He Lan awaits at a sperm donor clinic after he went back to Shanghai, he saw many families who wanted to have a child but failed to have one. Some were lucky while some were not so lucky. He saw tears and happiness every time he enters. The staffs were kind and helpful throughout the whole process. He was very smart in hiding his identity since he hasn't been noticed by many people.

Ting Ting awaits as the result was supposed to come this morning, she clicks the document and wishing for something good. Fortunately, all is well. But the causes are still unknown. Alex and Ting Ting discussed about different options whether IVF (in-vitro fertilization) or IUI (intrauterine insemination) will be a better option though both are commonly used. He will support her whatever decision she made. He knew he can only be a friend to her. Alex will help and push her from behind plus to cheer her on quietly. He will be her guardian angel throughout this difficult time.

When Ting Ting came back home, she discussed this with her best friend, Mimi. Mimi supported her decision as long as she is happy. Ting Ting started to worry again whether she will succeed or not but Mimi gave her an advice, "Think positively, miracles can happen unexpectedly."
