6 Believe in Yourself

Zhao Ting Ting went online to understand more about IVF and IUI. Though it will be her first time trying it, there will always be some anxieties. She booked it in a few days so she can get ready. Alex picked Ting Ting up and they went to see the gynecologist together.

As they waited for the gynecologist, Ting Ting started to read brochures related to IVF and IUI because she wanted to know which one suited her the best. When she got called in, Alex waited for her outside.

"Hi, Miss. Zhao, we see each other again." It was the same female doctor who checked up on her last time. Ting Ting nodded and slightly smiled, "Uh..yes... it's our second time." She was a bit nervous considering it will be her first time deciding to try different method in having a child. The doctor saw Ting TIng was a bit worried so she calmed her down a bit and told her that the success rate of either ones are about 20-40%, the younger you are the better your chances. Ting Ting was a bit relieved after hearing that so she nodded.

The doctor checked her health history and there was nothing to worried about. The doctor recommended her to do IUI, it will be less stressful to the body. The doctor explained to Ting Ting that they will use frozen donor sperm as that will increase her chance of getting pregnant. She also her that being emotional can have a huge impact to pregnancy as well.

Ting Ting took in everything that the doctor said and answered that she will try her best not to be too worried. The doctor smiled and told Ting Ting to relax since in a few days, she will be doing IUI. Ting Ting came out of the treatment room and Alex was waiting for her.

"How was it? What did the doctor say?" Alex wanted to know which method the doctor chose.

"IUI first." Ting TIng replied. Alex hugged her and said, "Hopefully everything succeeds. I'll send you back for now, you need complete rest for the next two days. Don't worry about the emergency department, we have enough staff. All you have to do is to sleep and eat well. No worrying! Okay?" Ting Ting laughed a bit and nodded, "I'll try. Thank you!"

For the next two days, Ting Ting rested in Mimi's apartment. She meditated, relaxed on her bed, and played with Mimi's 5 years old daughter. Two days passed in a blink of an eye.

The day finally arrived, Alex took a day off and picked up Ting Ting. Mimi hugged her and encouraged her, "Believe in yourself." Ting Ting nodded and hugged her back, "Thank you! I'll be back soon."

Mimi and Miaomiao waved goodbye before heading in.

After they got to the fertility clinic, Alex waited with Ting Ting.

"Don't worry. Relax." Alex smiled at her to let her relax a bit. Ting Ting took three deep breaths and it did help her.

Ting Ting waited anxiously for her number every time the clock goes tick tock tick tock. She closed her eyes to relax herself some more.

A nurse wearing pink uniform came out of the room, "314! Miss Zhao!" Ting Ting felt a pang of anxiety rushing all over her. She was worried that if this doesn't succeed, she will be a failure in her family and among her friends.

The female doctor checks everything off and asked Zhao Ting Ting to lie down on the bed. A nurse was on stand by in case anything happens.

"We are going try transfer the frozen sperm through IUI. Let us know if you are feeling discomfort. Now, take a deep breath and let your mind think about what it would be like for you to have a child. Okay, it's done." The doctor told her to watch out for abnormal bleeding or any pain in general because of infection might occur. She also told Ting Ting to rest for at least two weeks. The most important thing for her were emotions and diet . Zhao Ting Ting thanked the doctors and heads out with Alex who was waiting for her.

"All done! The doctor told me to rest for at least 2 weeks to see if there are any abnormalities." Ting Ting was relieved as he hugged Alex, "Thank you, Alex. For always helping me." He shook his head, "It's my job since I'm your boss. Let me send you home, you'll be on a month break just in case." Alex said. Ting Ting was shocked, "A month? But.. my salary..." Alex laughed, "Of course, you have vacation pay." Ting Ting almost forgot about that.

When they drove back home, Mimi unlocked the door and had a huge smile on her face, "Welcome back, Ting Ting!" She hugged Ting Ting really tightly, "Anything can happen if you believed in yourself."

Ting Ting nodded thankfully, "I really hope it succeed. I can't wait to see the baby one day." Mimi smiled and held her hand, "Believe in yourself. Let's wait for two weeks and see. But, first... mommy and baby need food. I cooked these for you, all safe for pregnancy." Ting Ting was surprised, "You did all this? This is great! Thank you so much, I'm starved." Mimi was glad Ting Ting felt better, "Eat slower, it's good for digestion." Ting Ting nodded and kept on eating.

Few hours after dinner, Ting Ting rested early on the bed. She kept a bedside journal and spends few minutes updating her current status. She felt fine for now but still have to wait for two weeks to be overwith.
