Chapter 4

Miles Willis's pov

Sweaty?

I look down and see that I am a little flustered and red. I straighten my suit and go find the secretary.

I see the same secretary that was nicer to me with a worried look as I come towards her.

"HI! I need to know where my office is" I say politely.

She nods and leaves from behind the desk and leads me into a well organized modern office.

The desk was made out of polished wood with a black rolling chair behind it. It had a laptop and an office phone on the desk. Then their was an empty bookshelf that reached to the ceiling on the left side by the desk. But the best view was the window. You could see the whole city from where I was standing. A wall length glass window that shown out to the big buildings and bright sun. You could see pedestrians and traffic! You could even see Rainbows! That is 5 blocks away from where I was!!!

"Oh..wow.." I press my face against the window and look around. Then a small giggle breaks my excitement as I turn around and see Rose, Mr. Smith's secretary.

"I'm sorry but um.. Mr. Smith is expecting you and says to give you this so you don't look red and hot" She hands me a cooling towel and I clean my neck and face with it to calm down the hotness. Once done she motions for me to put it on a tray that was sitting outside my door.

She then leads me to a double glass door and waves before leaving. 'Looks like this is my stop'

I knock once and wait until I hear a come in. I open the door with a 'oof' and suddenly I'm met with 6 business men including my boss.

I try to silently and gracefully walk to a small desk with an unconformable looking chair that is nowhere near the table.

"Where are you going?" I'm suddenly stopped and asked as I turn around and look at the 6 men.

"To the small desk with the uncomfortable looking chair that isn't close to the huge table surrounded by 6 intimidating looking men" I spill out my voice shooting an octave higher than normal.

All of a sudden all of the men except my boss start fixing themselves up and checking their breath. 'Are all of these guys gay or something?...' My boss sighs before shaking his head.

"That table is for the shamed people. Did we shame you yet?" I shake my head and walk closer to him as he softens.

"Then you don't go over there now sit next to me and take these notes" He tightens back up again and I let out a sigh before doing as told.

~2 hours later~

I gather my notebooks and pens and balance the binders in one arm while trying to get my bag with the other. When suddenly I drop all of my stuff sighing as everyone leaves including my boss.

"Shit!" I curse the profanity out loud as I slowly grab my stuff off the floor.

"Need some help?" I look up and see a guy that looks completely different from my boss but similar also.

He has black hair instead of blond and vivid dark green eyes instead of demanding dark brown eyes. He doesn't wear glasses and has 3 ear piercings in his left ear. And to top it all off he doesn't wear a suit. Instead he wears casual jeans and a dark blue dress shirt. But he also had similarities like the dimple in his right cheek and the deep set eye shape but also the sly small grin.

I smile and nod as he hands me the stuff and I put it in my bag. Once done we both stand up and he smiles as I latch the bag closed.

"So, are you the new assistant for m-" He's rudely interrupted by my boss walking in and eyes locking on us.

"Lucas..." His vice trails off as he looks between us.

"What are you doing in here?" He asks his face showing confusion as he crosses his arms staring at him and me.

"Oh well Rose told me you had a meeting so I came here, but when I came I only saw him and he looked so helpless trying to clean up the mess he made!" He pulled me close to him and showed a pouty face as he rocked me back in forth.

"Umm" I clear my throat and try pushing him away.

"Well the next time your Fiance tells you where I am make sure to ask her if I'm even still in there!" He rolls his eyes as I pull away from 'Lucas'.

"Fine. Fine. Why so grumpy big bro?" Lucas walks over slinging an arm around him with a wide smile.

"Bro? Fiance? What is going on here?" I ask with wide eyes as they stand next to each other. One looking like he could eat rainbows and clouds the other looking like he could create thunderstorms and would be fine if everyone died by electrocution.

"Were brothers! Well more like twins" Lucas explains with a smile

"B-But-" I'm interrupted by my boss.

"Fraternal twins moron" I roll my eyes.

"I knew that I was asking about the Fiance" I say running my hands through my hair.

"Oh my fiance is Rose!" Lucas says with an even wider smile.

I nod saying my congrats as we walk out of the meeting room and into Mr. Smith's office.

I put the binders and the notes on his desk before leaving to go print out papers.

Once there I overhear 2 people talking as I print out the copies I need.

"I heard...about...newbie....total...loser....am I.....right?"

"Total...loser....newbie...should...come"

In a rush to flee the eavesdropping conversation I drop all of my papers on the ground a they scatter the lounge.

"Miles!" I hear Rose and I look up as she drops her lunch on a nearby table and helps me pick up my stuff.

"Oh sweetie are you okay?" I nod and she stands up with me.

"I really gotta stop being clumsy today" I laugh and she shakes her head.

"you can't hep a clumser-upper now can you?" She says with a small giggle and I shake my head.

"No you can't!" I laugh but I'm soon stopped as I hear a yell.

"MILES WERE GOING TO LUNCH! NOW!"
