Chapter 3

Landon Smith's pov

"Sir you have 3 minutes to get to the office-" I hold my hand up and shake my head.

"No Marcus send me home, were gonna run some errands" He opens the door and I get in calling the office to tell them I'm not coming in.

The drive takes 20 minutes to get to my house. Marcus opens the door to the car and I get out asking him to wait a few minutes.

I enter my home and walk straight up to my room. When I open the door to my bedroom I see there is someone in my bed. Or something.

I walk over slowly when it jumps up and barks.

I laugh before running my hands through the black and white fur of my husky.

"Hi boy, I know I said I wouldn't be back but it's only for a little while then I have to leave again" I explain.

He whines but I sigh before going to my closet and changing into a navy button down and black dress pants.

I turn around only to be met with Quincy (my husky) with a leash in his mouth, sitting down head held high.

"Fine I'll take you for a walk and then can I go?" he just smiles before running to the front door.

I grab my shades and phone before walking to the front door too.

~THE NEXT DAY~

Miles Willis's pov

"WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" Daylan and Lillie jump in my bed screaming.

"Nooo just a little bit more..." I groan throwing a pillow over my head.

All of a sudden my phone screams loudly making me shriek.

"OK OK I'M UP!" I sit up my hair sticking everywhere as I look for my glasses and my phone.

I find my phone as Lillie hands me my glasses. "Thank you sweetie" I smile and look at the caller ID.

It titles "Smith' Inc. your job dummy" I laugh before answering it.

"He-"

"Your late Mr. Willis" My eyes widen and I look at the alarm clock that sits on my desk which reads '7:02'.

"It's 7 in the morning..." I say confused.

"And you were supposed to be here at 6:50!" my eyes wide and I rush out of bed.

"shoot I'll be there in 10 see you soon!" I hang up the phone and facepalm.

"You just hung up on your boss idiot!" I look toward my room door and see Debbi and Cooper.

"I know...I'm a terrible person"

"And I order all of my bake goods off of good foods" Debbi sasses back.

"We got the kids dress were just waiting on you"

"like always" Cooper mumbles making me roll my eyes

"I like my beauty sleep!" I run in the bathroom and wash my face only to brush my teeth too"

"Yeah a little too much!!!"

~15 MINUTES LATER~

I rush inside the building and straight to the receptionist's desk.

"Hi I'm Miles Willis, Mr.Smith's new assistant!" She doesn't look up from her book as she says.

"Your late and he's mad so 66th floor and quick the elevators are out" She smirks and I growl under my breath.

I turn around and spot the stairs and run straight for them and up.

~66 floors later~

I....Made.....It... I breath heavily and push open the doors.

I use the rest of my willpower to get to the secretary's desk, when out of the corner of my eye the elevator dings and people file out.

"I-It works?" I mumble as I reach the desk still stunned.

"HI! Welcome to Smith's Inc. how can I help you?" She gives me a bright smile and I sigh happily.

She's so much nicer then the other one. "I am Mr. Smith's new assistant" I smile back and her smile falters.

"You better hurry to his office he. is. mad!!!" she gives me directions and I follow them.

Once in front of the door I knock once and then twice.

"I SAID I WOULD NOT LIKE TO BE BOTHERED WITH TODAY!" He yells making a shiver run down my back.

I knock again a little more terrified but determined.

"I SWEAR!" He pulls the door open and you could feel the anger radiating off of him as he looked down at me.

"H-Hi Mr.-" He yanks me in by my sack that is across my body and shuts it behind him.

"Mr. Willis..." I back up as he towers over me.

"Y-yes M-Mr. Smith?" He snarls at the name before going back to his even meaner figure.

"Your very very late. You were supposed to be here 27 minutes ago. Where. Were. You?" I close my eyes and try to take deep breaths.

Ok he's hot and all but he is reallyy intimidating!

"Sleeping..." That seems to set him off as he closes me against a wall.

"So sleep is more important then work or paying for your house bills and making sure your kids are safe!!?!" My eyes wide and I go on immediate protective mode.

"Now back up one minute mister boss! The one thing you are not allowed to do is bring MY CHILDREN IN THIS! That goes past the limit of professional talk! So rant about me being late fine! Hate me for all I care! BUT NEVER! AND I MEAN EVER! BRING MY KIDS INTO AN ARGUMENT!" I was now the dominant figure in this argument. He now backed up in a wall shocked as I stood in front of him.

He straightens up immediately and rolls his eyes.

"Fine! Just get to your job, my secretary Rose will show you your office I'm late for a meeting!" His eyes narrow on me and I shrug.

"When you are ready and not sweaty my secretary will show you where I am" And With that last word he turns around and walks out of the room.
