26 Story And Secrets

"Have you ever heard about L Group?" Aiden asked Hazel. The latter seems to be a bit surprised. Maybe she didn't expect such question.

"Of course. They are one of the most powerful companies in this country. You know, I'm a businesswoman." Hazel replied with a teasing smile.

"Oh! I didn't think through that." Aiden let out a light laughter. "The truth is that...my father was the eldest son and heir of L Group. But no one knows about this."

Hazel was completely bewildered. She didn't expect this kind of story at all. Her face proved how amazed she was! She was more amazed by the fact that no one knows about this.

"Umm...no one? Is that possible?" She asked. He's the son of the eldest son of a huge conglomerate like L Group. How can nobody be aware of this?!

"I know what you mean. I'll explain to you." Aiden said in a calm voice. Then he explained to her all about his story - how his grandfather cannot accept him and his mother, how his father gave up his all for them and how his father passed away. Hazel listened to him patiently as he told her his painful childhood and secrets.

"Yesterday was my father's death anniversary. I went to his tomb and crossed paths with them; then the drama started again." Aiden sigh. Though he forced a smile, it was not convincing. His eyes showed how hard it was for him.

He looked at Hazel who already stared at him for a while. "It is not an interesting story. Isn't it?" He said with a small smile but his smile left his face as soon as he heard her response.

"Sometimes it's okay not to smile" was Hazel's response after hearing him out. Her voice was warm and gentle. The force smile that Aiden maintains all the time slowly disappear!

"You may thought why I told you my story. We only knew each other for a week. But I want to let you know that I'm sincere about you." Aiden paused for a while.

"Before you consider accepting me, I want you to know who I really am. I didn't have any intention to give up on you. To tell the truth, I want to spend all my life with you." He declared.

"You make it clear by telling me your story. Then what about me? What if I hold some huge secrets that no one knows about?" Hazel asked right away. This man keeps on making him feel guilty!

Aiden stared at Hazel. Why did she always have that expression? An expression one shows when they feel guilty. He hate to see it. "I want to know the reason why you don't believe in love. I know you will have some secrets. As I looked at you, I expect that much. If it's hard for you to tell me, I can wait. I don't..."

"You are still more luckier than me." Hazel cut him off before he could finish his words. "I'm an orphan who didn't even know my parents. You still have a loving mother; so I want you to be happy and carefree as always." She added.

Aiden didn't understand what she was talking about. An orphan? That's nonsense. The whole world knows that she's Richard Lim's only daughter! Did he misheard her or what?

Hazel noticed that Aiden didn't catch up with her. But it's understandable. The world didn't know that she's not the real Hazel Lim.

"I'm not Richard Lim's biological daughter. He's my adoptive father. I grew up in that Dream Orphanage. Six years ago, my name was never Hazel Lim." Hazel looked at Aiden's shocked expression. "I have a long story but I can't tell you more for now. If time allows us, you'll hear from me one day." She concluded.

Aiden struggled for words to say. Maybe he was really caught off guard by Hazel's secret. He didn't expect this at all.

"Did I surprise you that much? If the day when you hear my story ever comes, I doubt you will be okay. You know, Mr. Lee; dealing with a woman like me required a lot of patience. Many had failed before you." She calmly explained.

"Did those men left you after hearing your story and this secret?" Aiden asked her. But he was much more composed than before.

"No. It's my first time telling my secret and no one had never heard my story. You may think why; so I'll tell you. They always give up before hearing my secret and my story. You just heard my secret; so it means your patience is one step ahead of them." Hazel replied. She maintained a blank expression but carefully examined all Aiden's reaction.

Much to Hazel's surprise, Aiden's lips curved into a smile. "If that's the case, you choose the right guy, Hazel. You may not know but I'm quite patient."

"Then in the future, I hope your actions match your words." Hazel said with a smile. She somehow feels relieved. She was really grateful to him. She was thankful to him for always being patient with her. Though she don't know what the future holds for them, she wants to spend more time with him at least for now.

"Let's meet up from time to time. We can think of it as a process of having a closer relationship." Hazel suggested.

Aiden cannot believe what he just heard. He was most amazed by the fact that it was Hazel who suggested first to meet up often! On the inside, he was jumping with joy! He cannot hide his happiness on the outside either.

"I can't believe I heard that from you!" He exclaimed with a bright smile.

"I'm quite frank, just like you." She teased him.

"Well, Hazel. It's all thanks to my frankness that we are here today." Aiden stared at her with a loving smile and Hazel burst out with laughter due to his words.....
