20 Aiden's Identity

Hazel was aroused from her night sleep with cold sweat covering all over her body. It was that nightmare again. The same old nightmare!

She slowly get up from her bed and wipe away all her sweat. It was her first nightmare since she came here. Though she was affected by it, she consider herself lucky as she was free from those nightmares for the past three days.

She glanced at the small clock by her bedside and realized that it was 2 in the morning. She sigh and get off her bed. She knew that no matter how she tried, she won't be able to fall asleep now. So working would be the best for time pass.

The sun rises beautifully like any other day. A ray of sunlight enters Aiden's room. But Aiden already wake up minutes ago.

He was quietly dressing up himself since early before sunrise. He dressed up himself in a formal attire - a black suit and a black leather smart shoes.

Aiden stared at his reflection on the mirror. His familiar friendly smile was not there. His face has a stoic and serious expression. All his carefree attitude was gone. Then he quietly left his apartment.

After around two hours, Aiden was standing in front of a tomb. It was covered with green grass and was surrounded by some trees. He gently puts a bouquet of flowers in front of the tomb. He bowed before the tomb and pour soju drinks in it.

"I'm here, Dad." He said in a low voice.

"I really missed you these days. My mom missed you too. I'm sorry I can't bring her with me. It's been 15 years, but I still longed for you, Dad. I respect you and I love you." He said his message to his late father's tomb. He forced a smile and gently pats on the tomb.

"How dare you came here again?!" One old man who must be in his 70s was standing on the back side of Aiden. He was holding a cane stick which he used as a support to stand. One young man in his 20s accompanied him.

Aiden scowled as he heard the familiar unwelcomed voice. He turn his back and stared at the two men. "I should have asked you that question. How dare you come to my father's tomb?" His voice was low yet serious.

"Who do you think you are to asked me that question? This is the tomb of my eldest son!" The old man retorted. He stared at Aiden with a disgust eyes.

"Eldest son? You only have one son and I never heard the news of his death." Aiden answered him. Though anger was evident in his eyes, he never raise his voice.

"You lowly bastard! How dare you say that! I won't forgive you!" The old man hissed. He pointed at Aiden with his cane stick again and again.

"Grandfather, don't get too work up. It is not good for your health." The young man said and tried to calm down his furious grandfather. But the young man was staring at Aiden with a vicious smile.

"Lowly? Did you forget that I'm your own blood? I'm the only son of Zachary Lee, your eldest son!" Aiden's voice was quite high this time.

How can this man be his grandfather? No! This old man didn't have the right to talk about his father. He disowned his son and cut all ties with him. But now after his son died, he keeps on saying 'my eldest son.' He didn't have any right to call his father as his son!

"How dare you raise your voice at me! You and your mother were the ones who killed my son!" The old man was really fumed with anger. He keeps on staring at Aiden with a disgust eyes.

"No, you're wrong. It's you who drove my father to death." Aiden keep his voice low this time. He turned his back at the two men and once again he bowed before the tomb with a small smile.

Then he went away leaving the furious old man and the vicious young man behind.

"I'm not finished yet. How dare you! Come back here!" The old man yelled and keeps on cursing at Aiden. But the latter completely ignored him as if he was nothing.

Aiden get on his car and drive away immediately. He didn't want to deal with them for even a second anymore. He wanted to leave as fast as possible.

That old man named Thomas Lee, was the paternal grandfather of Aiden. The young man who came with him was his uncle's son, Shawn Lee.

Aiden was never on a good terms with his father's family. To be honest, he didn't consider them as a family. But he was not the one at fault. They were the one who cut ties with his father at the very first place. Why? Just because they didn't approve of his mother, who was a poor orphan!

Being one of the most prestigious families in the country, the Lee's were ashamed of his mother. They refused to accept her as their daughter in law.

Old Thomas Lee went as far as disowning his eldest son. He thought that the reputation of his family would be harm if his eldest son married an orphan. He ignored Aiden since he was just a baby. He regarded him as a thorn in his side!

Aiden's father, Zachary Lee gave up all he had for Aiden and his mother. Though his family was strongly against his decision, he was never shaken! Not for even once!

Aiden's father gave up his title of being an heir to the prestigious L Group! He never changed his mind nor regret his decision. He lived for his wife and son till the moment he took his last breath!
