3 3. Is this marriage a deal?

Gammon didn't understand who pulled him. He raises his hand to slap that person. When he sees the other person is not a stranger but his childhood friend Rose.

Rose is Gammon's childhood friend and she has approval from Sean Sutalick to woo his son. Mr. Sutalick doesn't like to force his son to marry Rose, but he has a soft spot for her as she has all the qualities a Sutalick daughter-in-law should have.

"Rose! When did you come?" Gammon exclaims. He wraps his arms around her waist and starts dancing. Another girl comes and hugs Gammon back and swings her waist according to the beats of music. Rose is looking at the girl, who is hugging Gammon's back.

Her anger rises and she snaps, "I don't like to share you with other girls. How many times do I have to say that I like you and love you? When will you understand my feelings and when will you stop fooling around with others? ".

Gammon rejects her by saying, "Rose! How many times have I told you, you are my childhood friend and I don't have feelings for you," He is fed up with saying the same words since they were 16? Now they are 25 and Rose still doesn't take his words seriously.

She knows that her crush repeats the same words over and over and she knows deep in her heart that Gammon doesn't have feelings for her. She holds onto her belief that one day she can woo him.

She soothes him and stops the argument from escalating.

"Right now I don't want to argue with you. It's already 11.30. Let's go home." He didn't argue back and decided to follow her. He goes home and flops onto his bed. While sleeping he thinks, 'I am fed up with these girls. Why is my heart not hooked on one person? Is the soulmate thing true? If so, where are you my soulmate?

Rose goes into the other room and lays on her bed. She is crying as she doesn't know how to woo Gammon. She tried all the ways to tell him how much she loves him. She even explained to him that she is not over his money. Her heart is aching more when she remembers that once Gammon said to her that he believes she is not over his money. He can't see her as his lover because his heart never fluttered towards her. He likes her as a friend but not as a lover. While weeping she falls into a deep sleep.

In New York:

Emma comes out of the restroom after refreshing. She stands in front of a mirror and combs her hair. She snaps into her thoughts, thinking about how to make them understand that she is not interested in marrying Sam. She talked with Sam on the phone for two times only. These two times she felt Sam is a very rigid person and doesn't like to talk much.

Sam speaks to answer her questions. He never asked her what her hobbies were nor never tried to prolong their conversation. She is not liking the reserved character of Sam.

Emma snaps out of her thoughts when her aunt calls her to have breakfast.. Emma quickly combs her hair and ties a high ponytail. She walks into the dining area.

Sophia tells her to eat breakfast so her mind can work properly. Emma sits on the chair and starts eating her toast.

She asks "Where are my chicken wings? Why are you feeding me only bread?"

"Chickens are out of stock. When we go shopping, I will buy them."

"Aha! Aunt! Have you seen the weather? It is 78 fahrenheit . You know hot weather doesn't suit me. You do my shopping. But don't you know, Thai traditional dresses will not be available in New York."

"I know Thai traditional dress won't be available here, but you need other stuff as you are planning to stay there for a month. If you can't adjust to 78 F° of hot weather, how can you stay in Pattaya? Its lowest temperature is 88 degrees and the highest is 112 F°."

"It's only for a month. I am going there to search for my father. Not to enjoy." Emma scoffs. She looks at her aunt and says, "Though you know hot weather doesn't suit me, why did you arrange my marriage with a Thai guy?"

"Emma! I don't know why you're disappointed with this wedding. Sam is a nice guy. He is from our home country."

"Aunt! Why Sam? I never got good vibes whenever I talked with him on the phone. I feel he is also doing this marriage forcefully. Nowadays, who is doing marriage even without meeting personally? I want to go to Pattaya to know who my father is and why am I frequently having bad dreams."

"That is the reason why we decided on Sam. Sam's parents are well-known people in Pattaya and they have been staying there for 65 years. James, Sam's father said to Jack that he will find your father once you are married to his son. Moreover if you marry a man from our native country, our customs match. Life goes smooth if there is no clash between culture and customs." 

"Doesn't it seem a little bit creepy? He only wants his son to settle in the USA. Now that the government has a strict visa procedure, he wants to tie his son with me as I have US citizenship. There is no love in this marriage. Is it not looking like a business deal?"

Jack, Emma's uncle comes there and asks, "Emma! Why are you feeling this marriage as a deal? "
