Chapter 43- Mother and Son Escapade

After 30 minutes, Vera stood up from her seat and passed her papers. The student, as well as the examiner, was all shock to see her action.

"Are you sure you answered all the question?" The examiner asked. She wants to make sure that the woman didn't make a mistake on passing her answer earlier than others.

"Yes, I am sure" Vera replied. Although the question might be difficult for others, for her who have already finished a bachelor's degree at a young age, the test is nothing but kids play. She doesn't need to pretend and stay there longer than necessary. She has an appointment with her son, after all.

"I see" The examiner receives her papers. Vera left without any more words. Not knowing that the students were left dumbfounded by her actions.

After her exam, Vera went directly to pick-up Xu Li. Like her, he wears low key attire, but the boy still gives off an aura of affluent kid.

They arrive in Jia Mall in no time, and Vera's eyes sparkled while admiring all the boutiques lined up for her to see. It has been so long since she went for shopping.

Even when she was the leader of her organization, shopping is something that she could only do when there are at least 20 bodyguards with here, or when the mall is temporarily closed for her to use.

Today is different though; she can shop like a regular civilian. She doesn't need to worry about being continuously assassinated. Of course, Vera is aware that Xu Long Wei's shadows are watching their movements, but since they maintain their distance from them, she doesn't mind at all. After all, Xu Li is with her, and he is often in a dangerous situation because of multiple kidnapping attempts he experienced.

Anyway, since she is with him today, she is confident that nothing will happen to him. They can try, but they will die trying, and that is for sure.

Vera holds Xu Li's hand, and they look around every store they pass by. They even enjoy the indoor play area for kids. Vera watch as Xu Li passionately hitting the frog popping out in the hole of hammerhead machine. His face is a picture of pure delight that makes her smile even wider. She is elated to have this memory with him.

Xu Lin left the arcade machine when his turn finished. She hugged his mother and said, "I am glad that you're here, mommy. I could finally play this kind of game. Daddy never brought me here, and I didn't have the chance to play this game before." The boy expressed, honestly.

"Don't worry, love. We will do this thing from now on. Since your father is busy with work, I can always play with you" She promised. They decided to stay a little bit longer in the arcade area, but when they are about to leave, Vera notices the long line of people across them.

Curious, she approaches one family and inquires about the situation. Apparently, there is a rock-climbing competition that the mall organized for the family to join.

Wanting to create more memories with her son, she made up her mind to join the competition. Xu Li is also thrilled to try the game.

They lined up and waited for their turn. The mechanics of the game is straightforward. They will climb up the 60 ft wall and whoever finished in the fastest time will win.

They will be contacted after one week when all the result is accumulated and calculated. After the winner is decided, they will receive a gift card from the mall worth 500 dollars plus an additional 500 dollars worth of grocery package.

It is a good offer considering the primary purpose of the game is for the family to enjoy the new indoor activity center that Jia Mall just opened to the public. The duo didn't care about the price since they own the mall, but the memories they could create after playing.
