40 Comfort and healing

As Daniel came to his senses, I held him for a while. "Are you feeling better?" I asked. Daniel nodded but was quiet.

"Did I scare Starlight?" He asked.

"No. She told me she held your hand too. She knows when you need me." I said.

"Thank you, Crystal. I need you and Starlight the most." He felt my face and kissed my forehead.

"Don't forget you have two other daughters." I said.

"I want to hold Starlight. Can you bring her to me?" Daniel asked.

"Sure. Wait a minute." As I went out, I told Starlight daddy wants to see her.

Starlight ran to Daniel.

"Daddy! Are you feeling better? Is your leg better? You're not hurt right?" Starlight asked.

I went out to give them some time.

"I'm better Starlight. Thanks for telling Mommy." Daniel said.

"Daddy, I am worried you were hurt. Please don't get hurt anymore." Starlight pleaded Daniel.

"I won't. As long as Starlight is with me, I won't get hurt again." Daniel felt for Starlight's face then gave her a gentle kiss. Starlight gave Daniel a hug and a kiss too.

"Can you go and get Mommy for me?" Daniel asked Starlight.

Starlight said yes and asked me.

"Daniel, are you alright?" I asked.

"Hm. I want to get on the wheelchair but I don't know where it is." Said Daniel.

"Here I'll help you." I said.

As I get Daniel's wheelchair ready, I wheeled him outside the room.

Elaine, Shanshan, David and James, greeted us as we sat down and discussed further about the safety for the rest of the trip.

"Daniel, is everything okay?" David asked.

"Thanks to Starlight and Crystal. I'm better now..it's just an old chronic pain." Said Daniel.

"I'm glad you are better." Elaine said.

Daniel smiled.

Starlight came and joined us. Starlight held on to Daniel's hand to make sure he doesn't get hurt again.
