96 Received with Love

Alonso and Natalie climbed up the stairs of the Valois mansion hand in hand. Having the main door opened for them was not surprising, but the gathering inside the mansion was certainly unexpected.

She looked up at her husband whose face was initially expressionless as he observed his assembled family. His expression warmed when he looked down at her and gently kissed her forehead.

"Nat," her uncle was the first to envelop her in his arms. Her neck immediately dampened upon contact with his cheek.

"I'm sorry I gave you a scare, but everything is fine. Don't worry," she smiled reassuringly at Jack who released her and then turned around, heading back towards the stairs.

Her eyes followed him; he must've been very scared.

Natalie had no time to focus on her uncle since Liliana was quick to take a step towards her and hug her. "Don't scare us like that again, okay?"
