More Bad News

With the last bit of energy she had, Natalie waved goodbye to Kevin who was driving away in his Ford with a huge grin on his face. She turned around and looked at the mansion in front of her, seeing it as an escape for the first time.

I suppose even the barracks are better than that awful hospital.

Glancing back to wave goodbye to Kevin one last time, she saw his profile going out of the gate looking just as drained and upset as she was.

She turned around and nodded at Javier who had the door open for her then made her way up. Unfortunately for Natalie, the door to her father-in-law's office was not completely closed, and his voice was booming loudly from inside.
