A Secret Appointment

Natalie stood outside Rose's office at the hospital blinking and staring at the doorknob.

"...You managed to sneak here without Alonso finding out. What now?" She muttered earning herself a strange look from the nurse who was standing near the door.

Her palms were clammy and her heart felt uneasy but she still geared up for the tough conversation ahead. Taking a deep breath, she steadied her nerves before finally knocking on the door.

"Come in," Rose's muffled voice called from behind the closed door.

Entering the office, Natalie found the good doctor already getting up from her seat with a warm smile on her face and an extended hand. The two of them shook hands and Natalie's face mirrored Rose's smile even if she couldn't shake the knot tightening in her stomach.

"Thank you for squeezing me in, Rose. I really appreciate it," Natalie's voice betrayed her nerves.
