Chapter 12: A New Person

Luo Yuan stepped out of the apartment, followed by Muchen. At the same time, he saw a girl coming out of the apartment that was in front of him, who was making sure to hide from him, but he recognized her.

"Stop right here!" Luo Yuan said with his eyes glaring at the girl's back figure. It was Li Xia

Her ears perked up when she heard his voice but slowly she turned towards him.

"Hi!" she waved her hand slightly with an awkward smile on her lips.

Luo Yuan took a few steps towards her and stared straight into her blue eyes. Before saying something he glared at his secretary telling him to leave them alone. Muchen took the signal and walked away from them.

"Care to explain?" Luo Yuan spoke bluntly.

"I am not stalking you. I have been living here for the past two years," she replied with a nervous tone while surrendering her hands in the air.

"I didn't ask you why you are here," he replied with a slight raise of his eyebrow.

"Then?" She asked hesitantly, unsure of what to reply.

"About your yesterday action."

"I don't know what you are trying to say," she answered, pretending to be clueless.

"Miss Li, your excuse is lame," Luo Yuan replied in an irritated tone.

"I was helping you to get rid of that sticky woman," she explained.

"Miss Li, why did you help me? We are not even friends," he said with a serious tone.

"We are acquaintances," she corrected.

"We aren't even acquaintances," Luo Yuan continued without batting an eye. Li Xia remained quiet. The atmosphere became quite awkward between them. Now it was a dead end of the words. Then her brain lit up with a new statement that can help her to justify her action.

"I think you have forgotten about the night you spent in the hotel with me," Li Xia broke the silence and took some more steps toward him, leaving only two or three inches between them.

"Let me correct you, Miss Li, you took me to the hotel at 11:00 pm and you left at 11:10 pm. If I remember correctly, nothing happened between us," Luo Yuan whispered in her ear and took some steps backward.

How does he even know? does he remember? those words were circulating in her mind. She was at the loss for words. No statement in the world can now justify her yesterday action.

"You're right," she responded calmly with a faint smile. Nothing happened between us," Li Xia gave him a sly look.

"So Miss Li, stay away from me. The more you stay away the better," he added and with this last statement, he walked away and towards his car. Leaving Li Xia standing there still dumbstruck.

After getting into the car and closing the door behind him he leaned back on the leather seats and massaged his temples.

The trip took 20 minutes. Arriving at the C.L Group building, he got out of the car and walked towards the elevator with his secretary following closely behind him and explaining his schedule for the day.

But before starting his schedule of the day he has one more person to deal with. It was none other than his mother, who was currently waiting for him in his office.

Li Xia was standing there clenching her fist and biting her lip with anger.

"How can there exist such an arrogant man like him?!" Li Xia thought angrily. But she didn't have much time to waste pondering about this pretentious man.

She shook her head and took a deep breath before sprucing up herself and walking towards the entrance door. Right now she had a shoot to deal with or else she would have won in this cold war.

She hailed a cab to drive towards her destination. Her secretary told her that she will arrive there by herself.

After a 20-minute trip, she finally made it to her destination where the shoot was going to be held. She went inside and was greeted by her assistant, who looked a bit tense and nervous.

"Thank God you are here Li Xia sis!" she exclaimed happily as soon as she saw her arrival.

"Why? What's wrong? Why do you look so tense? " Li Xia asked worriedly as they walked towards the make-up room.

"Well, Li Xia is ---" her assistant hesitated a bit. But before she could gather up some courage to speak, Li Xia opened the door of the make-up room. Inside, Mei Lin was seated and was having her makeup done. Li Xia clenched her fists tightly.

"Xiao Xian, wait for me to beat you up after getting free from here," she murmured while stepping inside the room.

"Good Morning Miss Li," the makeup artist greeted her politely.

"Good Morning," Li Xia responded with a smile before taking a seat near Mei Lin.

"Don't tell me that I am going to shoot with this mere blogger," Mei Lin complained while crossing her arms in front of her chest.

Mei Lin was one of the A-List actresses in china. She is the daughter of the YF Group CEO and also the best actor of his time. She had been nominated for many award shows and also won the best actress of the year award too. Due to this, she is also a famous, popular celebrity.

"Director! where is your director? I am not doing this shoot today!" She answered loudly while stomping her feet like a child.

"Mie Lin doesn't make a scene here," Li Xia warned her while pointing a finger at her nose. "Or else if this gets out how your fans will think about you."

"Are you threatening me?" Mei Lin said with a fake innocent smile plastered on her face.

"I dare not do it," she smiled mischievously at her. Mei Lin's makeup was done, so the makeup artist turned toward Li Xia to do her makeup.

"My makeup is more important than her!"Mei Lin glared at the makeup artist.

"It's okay, you do her makeup. I can manage

myself," Li Xia assured the makeup artist.

The makeup artist nodded at her and quickly proceeded to do makeup on Mei Lin. The makeup was done and even they wore their respective dresses. Now it's time for the shoot to start. The director along with his assistant entered the makeup room to inform them about their respective work.

"First Li Xia will have a solo shoot," the director announced as the photographer and cameraman stood near the door of the makeup room.

"No, first I will go for a solo shoot. Or else I am not doing this at all," Mei Lin said with an annoyed look on her face.

"Mie Lin...please listen. We are trying to get this shoot completed as fast as possible.." the director begged. But Mei Lin didn't pay any heed to their words.

"Or else you know who my father is?" she said while looking directly at the director.

The director gulped nervously. They knew his father was a well-known personality in the entertainment industry. And everyone feared him.
