The doctor in charge of Casmir's operation surfaced half an hour to inform us that the surgery was successful. Casmir was still unconscious, but his life was no longer in immediate danger. We were granted permission to see him, and although all of us had rushed into the room eagerly, all we could do was stare at the unconscious man and wish for his quick recovery.

After we were done with our silent well wishes, I took Junior back from Liam's hands and announced my leave. I'd already spent more time than I expected, but it didn't matter. It was all to thank someone who had risked their life for me, this was the least I could do to show appreciation.

As I exited the room, Liam followed suit. He had something he wanted to say to me, but he clearly wanted to say it in a more secluded area.

"Is something the matter?" I asked as we both walked out of the main building.
