A New Help

The entire house was silent when I entered. Although it was like this half of the time, it just seemed a bit quieter than usual. Anna sat on the couch downstairs, engulfed in her phone , while there was no sign of Amelie in the living room. I figured she was in our room and immediately went upstairs to get her without saying a word to the distracted Anna. 

"You're back already huh?" I started the moment I got past the doors. I knew she wasn't going to be very bright after returning from her best friend's funeral, but her expression was just much more gloomy than I expected. In a flash I rushed to aid and wrapped her up in my embrace before inquiring of her problems. 

"It's nothing, I just got a little too emotional." She denied. Amelie wasn't exactly a good liar, so it was obvious she was keeping something away from me. 

"Did something happen at Colin's funeral?" I asked while I rubbed her back and kissed her temple. "You can tell me anything."
