Zhao Yang sighed deeply as the man calmly touched his forehead. 

His eyebrows were furrowed in slight annoyance, but his eyes told otherwise. 

Zhao Yang nodded slightly before he spoke each word with a bit of strength, "Yes, I forgive you."

Lai Jiayi didn't take out her phone, but this notification sounded in her mind. 

[Eh, how come the notification–] 

[I help you connect it to your mind, quack. Anyway, congrats!!] Yaya replied. 

Hearing this, Lai Jiayi's eyes brightened. She didn't care whether the one in front of her was a man that she absolutely feared. 

With utmost energy, the girl bowed a few times while speaking in an excited tone, "Thank you, boss, thank you! You're so generous!" 

Her 180° change in attitude made Zhao Yang feel like getting a headache. 

First, she looked like a pitiful poodle. Now she looked as energetic as a small tiger. 

'She's unpredictable!' 

"Mn." Zhao Yang waved his hand impatiently before he lowered his head. 

He turned his body, avoiding Lai Jiayi, seemingly not wanting to speak with Lai Jiayi anymore. But one could see his eyes weren't as cold as before. His body also relaxed a bit.

'Generous? Well, yeah, I am.' He shamelessly thought. 

Lai Jiayi saw the man's action and couldn't help but curse in her heart. 

'He treated women as if they're a plague!' 

Yet the girl didn't do anything else and just stood there, blinking her eyes innocently, waiting for a chance to give the man a candy when Yaya's voice sounded in her mind. 

[Wow Jia, you're so good at apologizing, quack! Your acting is quite good, quack!] Yaya earnestly praised Lai Jiayi with an excited voice. 

The girl couldn't see Yaya's face, but she could imagine his big, cute eyes would sparkle like a kid seeing their idol. 

[Heh. I did it well this time, right? But by the way, the barometer didn't rise?] Lai Jiayi proudly said, but then upon mentioning the barometer, her voice died down. 

'This man is so hard to please! Annoying as hell.' 

[Quack yeah, it didn't, but maybe it will increase if you give him candy, quack?] Yaya innocently suggested. 

[What? How– ] 

[A cold person like him might like getting small yet caring attention, quack,] Yaya suggested. 

[Look, I gave you a candy yesterday, right, quack? Give him that one, quack!] Yaya urged. 

'I purposely choose the candy brand that Zhao Yang's deceased lover used to eat! I am so sensible, right? Ah, aren't I really the best~' Yaya gleamed. 

[Heh okay, I'll try. Can't be sure the candy will make him happy, though.] 

Lai Jiayi, who didn't know about this, rolled her eyes before looking at Zhao Yang again. 

The man who had intended to ignore Lai Jiayi couldn't help but notice the girl again since she was looking at him. 

Her bright, orange baggy clothes made it hard for people not to notice her. 

Zhao Yang had just lifted his face slightly to see what this weirdo wanted to do when suddenly, the girl approached him several inches closer than before. 

Lai Jiayi bit her lips and suppressed her urge to puke. The girl then suddenly grabbed Zhao Yang's wrist as fast as the lightning. 

"U-um, t-this, b-boss!"

Zhao Yang wasn't used to being touched by others. He frowned deeply and had just about to slap away Lai Jiayi's hand when the girl suddenly shoved a familiar-looking candy to his palm. 

Lai Jiayi's hand was trembling as she did so. The girl rushed to speak in a shaky voice, "H-here, my form of apology! P-please, accept it, boss!" 

Right after she gave the candy, the girl retracted her hand and retreated in a flash. The next second, she already stood at the corner of the elevator, far away from Zhao Yang's place. 

The girl was trembling like a frightened kitten as she hid at the corner. She looked like a kid being afraid of her parents scolding her for her mischievous act. 

'….what? What's going on?' 

Zhao Yang felt that there's too much thing happening here that his mind slightly stirred. Still, the man kept his calm. 

The first thing he did after calming down was to look down, and his eyes immediately caught sight of a small pink candy laying on his opened palm. 

The candy had a picture of a mascot. The mascot was a little white lamb, but her fur was made of candies. 

Melty. 

'! This candy…' 

Zhao Yang's eyes widened. 

'It's the same candy brand with the one Biyu likes to eat!' the man's eyes slowly glisten. 

"...this candy..." Zhao Yang's body trembled slightly as he gripped the candy but not tight enough to crush it. 

His eyes suddenly turned softer than before, and his whole body emitted a rather calm, sweet aura. 

There's no way people would think of him as an iceberg if they saw him like this. 

Surely he didn't smile, but that pair of gentle-looking eyes, as if looking at the most important thing for him, successfully stunned Lai Jiayi silly. 

'Eh? That iceberg monster suddenly looks so sad just because of a candy?' Lai Jiayi was speechless. 

'Anyone never gives him candy or something until he looks as if the candy is the most precious thing he ever got??' 

Lai Jiayi wobbled a bit. 

[Hey, Yaya, is he that lonely–] 

DING! [Barometer rises!] 

?! 

[Jiajia, quack! Ah ahhhh, congrats, quaaaack!! The barometer went up, quack quack! awesome ah awesome, quackkkk!!] Yaya suddenly shrieked like a little girl. 

Lai Jiayi was once again utterly speechless. 

'What? The barometer goes up? Like...for real? Just for candy?? Oh, sweet Jesus, it's a miracle!! Once in a lifetime!'
