17 the drake attack, the archduke, the private meeting

Jase had done as he said he would I now had two helpers to assist me with my work it was a calm day I was teaching the kids one of the only lessons I teach them which was first aid which will definitely be an essential skill no matter what they end up doing it also advanced my own knowledge by leaps and bounds.

then I heard the alarm sound which was a whistle through a sound amplifier ability which five people had I instantly did what I had planned in this situation I gathered the children in a circle and walked to the pillars reaching the pillars I made the children and a few surrounding people huddle around it and I activated the barrier.

I could see where the problem was it was near the wall directly opposite to the pillars so I started jogging over there getting closer I could see a dragon looking creature but It was smaller and didn't have any wings it also didn't breathe fire.

seeing Luke and the other leaders near the drake I jogged towards them eventually standing next to Luke who spoke with some worry.

"aren't you meant to be protecting the children?"

realising how it looked I cleared it up a bit

" I am I can feel the barrier I put around them and left them with some nearby adults how are we going to deal with that thing?"

sounding better than before he just said a few simple words.

"we're going to kill it"

he really was an idiot but I guess he was right

I broke my pinky finger and shot a pain blade at it but it barely grazed it so I broke my aim and sent the blade at it this time it pieced it's torso but after an hour of fighting eventually Jase killed it in one hit of a sword made of light.

if Jase wasn't here than it would probably take another hour but i don't understand why he didn't just kill it so quickly in the first place.

after a few days construction of new housing was being built because currently all the beds were in nursing rooms or dorms both of which have a lack of beds for the amount of people other than houses several other things need to be built like a main wall surrounding all our area we also need to improvise things like running water we need a place to grow food before we die of starvation etc.

luckily there are several people with very useful non combative abilities like the newly appointed archduke Roden touk but his ability was very overpowered he could expand space and create dimensions and they would stay even when he dies and the dimensions openings can be set to certain actions meaning he can create several utilities and probably most importantly he can make farm land by expansion of space.

the only reason he isn't combative is because he doesn't know what will happen if he expands the space around them or puts them in a dimension if he wanted to he could actually bend space his ability only gave two examples of what it could do however it is possible he could do more.

Jase had approached me after the fight and told me to meet him in his office later which happened to be the principals office of SC each school was assigned different uses for example AFMGS was for temporary shelter and children

so after organising the children and walking to SC I was in a meeting with Jase he was sitting in the red velvet arm chair and I was in a school seat on the other side of the desk and after tapping his fingers a few times he finally started to speak.

"I need you to go collect people"

I felt my heart stop and restart literally.

"what why me? who? I'm too busy!"

he smiled and said words I had hoped no one would of used against me.

"please I really need your help and I know that it is within your power to help"

at this moment I knew that he knew my curse I didn't think that he did because it doesn't actually appear in my status but that means he can see all effects on his subjects and that he can abuse the fuck out of my curse so all I could do is swear and curse out a few words at him.

"fuck you fuck your mothers grave fuck your childhood pet"

he started laughing and it actually sounded a bit sinister.

"hahaha I didn't actually think that it would work I promise that I won't use it to much but I really do need your help when I say collect I actually mean gather if you can find anyone who is an orphan or a student try to convince them also and young children where you know that their parents are dead or won't come in time.

basically try to recruit anyone under eighteen and their families we need more people for this place to function like I want it to"

after thinking about it I asked a question.

"where do I look?"

Jase answered calmly

"well the suburbs especially the primary schools and orphanages also I will want you to check the hospital sector since we can cure a lot now but I do have a checklist along with a gathering mission this is also a scouting mission since the suburbs and hospital are the closest areas near us I am definitely not the only king in this city"

then a single last question came into my head.

"will I be alone?"

he answered quickly.

"though I chose you specifically because you can't die I am sending a C rank with insight with you"

after a bit of talking things out it was decided I would set out tomorrow morning.

so the next day I said goodbye to the children who I had actually grown quite attached to and started walking into the suburbs with probably the most annoying and obnoxious guy possible.
