22 Chapter 22 When the border opens

Seeing the pitiful figure of Chen literally scratching at the barrier surrounding my mountain almost certainly here to see her mother figure Ran who still hadn't fully recovered from the thrashing Tiamat gave her from meeting her through my enchanted front door. I couldn't help but wonder if I even needed to keep my barrier around now.

I had firmly entrenched myself in Gensokyo and it was plain to all that none could contest my claim over Yokai Mountain as not even Yukari or the Hakurei Shrine Maiden could 'exterminate' me after a couple of months of me evicting the numerous Yokai and monsters living within and atop the mountain.

"Sakuya please come to my throne room," I spoke to the maid in question as she was taking care of the children with how Hiro was gone retrieving some form of officials from the Human Village.

Sakuya froze for a moment in her actions of entertaining the children by reading to them then I continued to remotely speak to her and now allowed my voice to reach the kids there. "I need to borrow Sakuya for a bit. In the meantime, play on this playset." I said and in the small park Sakuya was basically hosting a picnic to read to the kids a large playground sprouted up from the ground and just for good measure I threw a bunch of mana into the ground and the playground to be super soft incase the kids got the bright idea to throw each other off the playset.

Sakuya obviously then paused time as through my own mountains senses my senses seemed to stretch infinitely in a moment as she flew into my throne room seemingly not noticing I was keeping in time with her time stop magic.

"Was stopping time really necessary just to fly over to me?" I asked wryly and Sakuya's red eyes flickered to me in surprise as sure people had gotten one over her by setting up traps to mess with her time stopping abilities, but she hadn't met someone who could literally step out of the timeline like she could.

Even as Sakuya gaped at me I snapped my fingers, and I brought us out the miniature time lock she pulled us into. "I wanted to ask you a couple questions as you are frankly one of the more... Mature and orderly of characters within Gensokyo. I want you opinion on who will be an issue should I let my barrier go so people can come around the vicinity of my mountain minus the town and my Cathedral I have created."

By that I was going to remake my barrier to literally basically have a painted line or something around the town and the area I was going to claim along with the road I had made down the mountain to the edge of the Yokai Forest as frankly the children didnt provide me with nearly the worship I desired to extend my borders and Hiro has been gone for days when it should have only taken a half a day at most to get the elders from his Village to come here...

But no when I said he should go and use the gold I gave him as gift to snag a wife or three so he could continue the heroic bloodline I gave him, he took my words literally and used the gold to pay the bridal price to marry the five girls he deflowered after he seduced them with the tales of his adventures in saving these very children...

"Lord Moria the biggest uhm issues that may come to cause trouble would be the Tengu clans and the Kappa tribe who aren't at all happy with your presence. They are the largest force of possible enemies I can see that will contest your claim to your mountain but other than those two groups you should be careful of the truly evil Yokai that used to live upon the Mountain and in the tunnels leading to Old Hell." Sakuya explained as she put a finger to her cheek and thought deeply about the Yokai's and groups of note in the area.

I wanted to grow in strength and if Hiro was going to be a dumbass who wanted to sire a line of demigod children that will provide me great worship in the future, I wasn't going to begrudge him that as I knew he would be coming back one he got his head straighten up when those five girls started jockeying for position of head wife and the drama sends him running back to me for advice. Either way I win even if he hides away from me with a new line of demigods tied to me they would fuel me either way.

But if the humans weren't going to play ball and fall into my trap of a modern living style without the fear of Yokai's eating them, I can just as well get even more worship from Yokai and other gods so long as they venerated me until I could use this Bifrost chunk to open a dimension gateway back to Outside world where I can create a new mountain there and enrich myself with the faith of the humans and beings of Earth.

After several minutes of silence and as I saw Chen giving up at breaking through the barrier my eyes snapped open and my Mountain shook to gather the attention of all within Gensokyo and I could all but feel hundreds of mystical senses touch upon my mountain's barrier wondering what nonsense I was up to now.

But my voice rang out beyond the barriers of my Mountain as I created the soundwaves to carry through the air. "I, Lord Moria, the Mountain God that has been born of Yokai Mountain hereby will be removing the barrier around my body. The only exceptions are the large solid gold road leading to my cathedral and the walls of enchanted silver that surround the town I built for humans and other people that desire a comfortable life within my protection such as the children that were rescued from the Human Village raid."

With the said I made the barrier flash brightly in the noon light showing its existence before it faded into motes of light.

Just as literally hundreds of various Yokai began to franticly fly within my zone of influence I spoke again to all of them with my voice seemingly a wind caressing their ears. "Make no mistake should you attempt to cause trouble upon my lands you will die and will not reform."

The Kappa Yokai who literally had a couple pickaxes at the ready to begin stealing my solid gold road leading up to my cathedral quicky dropped their tools and flew away and so did a great number of other Yokai who seemed to believe I was right beside them watching their every move.

But it wasn't just all Yokai and demons who directly entered my now opened lands there were a great many kinds of familiars some of which I could recognize such as Alice's dolls and even the Morya's Shrines occupants' animals such as some snakes and a great number of toads seemingly checking out my territory without making a mess of it.

"Wow this place looks so much more cleaned up!" I heard a voice speak across my mountain and I focused on it as it wasn't some disgruntled Tengu cursing me out for burying the bones and random bits of shiny metal they picked up when they were flying around Gensokyo and made parts of my mountain look like a dump with all the crap around it.

Even as I saw who it was, I couldn't help but grimace at the sight of the newspaper tengu woman already flying around taking pictures of everything with her camera. Not only that I saw Chen making a beeline along my golden road to my cathedral, so I projected my voice to Ran who was resting in her room.

"I have decided to lower my barrier and give the people of Gensokyo a chance. Chen is on the way you should meet her outside the cathedral, so she doesn't make a mistake and attack me."

Ran obviously knowing how impetuous her familiar was, thanked me and quickly flew out the portal I quickly opened in front of her.

"Let's see how troublesome the denizens of Gensokyo really are." I mumbled watching the actions of the people checking out my territory and only more people showing bravery by physically entering my land.

Ea that was resting in my palm and it began to thrum with it annihilating all surrounding existence with its arcing energies as I considered who might be an issue.
