6 Episode 6

The Imperial Council members representing Thorn had arrived and was waiting for Lady Astema in the war room for questioning. "They have been kept in the dark about the war since it started," said Lady Astema as she walked towards the council chambers. "It wasn't anyone's fault that they weren't made aware of the situation, our first obligation was to protect our nation, same for Drakovia, they should understand that," said Daigo. "It's been a week since the incident in Drakovia and Necrosis hasn't made any movements yet I am curious to know why," Drake said. Daigo turned, "They are up to something but seeing as the council is here we cannot risk sending informants out to look into the matter, we need to stay cautious," he replied. "I can take it from here," Lady Astema said as she faced the doors to the council, "Whiplash could you come with me as a monitor?" "Why me? Wouldn't Daigo be more useful?" Asked Drake. "I have something I need to look into," Daigo replied, "Now don't get too attached while I'm gone." Drake glared, "It must be very hard for you to take things seriously." Daigo smiled and turned away, "I will return once the gathering has ended." Lady Astema and Drake nodded and walked through the doors. Daigo stood for a moment and began walking down the grand hall. "You know, if you are caught here you'll be killed right?" Daigo asked turning around. A cloaked figure stood staring at Daigo. "I take it you are aware that the council is here?" Daigo asked. The cloaked figure nodded. "Ya know this would easier if you would just respond Sin," Daigo said. Sin pulled back the black hood and smiled. "Typical Daigo, even in faded form you can still detect me," Sin replied. Daigo grinned, "And what do I do the pleasure for this visit?" Asked Daigo, "Won't Mephis know you are gone and become suspicious?" Sin shook his head, "I doubt it, but I have information that I need to pass to you, a warning," Sin replied. Daigo's smile faded, "What is it?" "Mephis is planning on attacking Ortega head on," Sin replied, "I cannot risk another Lazerus." Daigo nodded, "Midnight, I knew from the start it wasn't your fault for Lazerus or Kisa, but trying to explain that to Blaze would be impossible." Sin frowned, "Thanatos will not allow me to control his power that easily," Sin said, "If I can avoid relying on that power then I will." Daigo turned and looked out the windows over looking Ortega. "You are a good person at heart," Daigo replied, "You will master the power of the Embodiment Stone, but until then what is your plan?" Sin turned, "I am going to speak with Thanatos, and I will bring Mephis down even if I have to do it alone." Daigo put his hand on Sin's shoulder. "You aren't alone my old friend, you still have my trust, I just hope you know what you are doing," Daigo said. Sin nodded, "Even if I can't rely on Thanatos, I will destroy Mephis for what he had me do." It was quiet for a moment and then Daigo smiled. "You loved her, didn't you?" Daigo asked. Sin turned, "Mephis knew I was going to warn Lazerus and waited until I was there to activate Midnight, Kisa didn't believe I would hurt them, she underestimated Thanatos and his rage." Daigo smiled, "You aren't to blame however the burden you carry shouldn't be yours alone, I know you can master Midnight, just as your father." "Thanatos blames me for my father taking Nyx away from him, for that he will not let me control his power so easily," Sin replied, "But I will not give up this time, and Mephis will fall before long." Daigo grinned, "Then you should get going, but don't be reckless, and also next time try to take it a little easy on the ass beatings?" Sin laughed, "Blaze had that one coming, and I had to make it look believable." The two stood for a moment. "I will see you soon enough and I will be your muscle if you need it," Daigo said. Sin smiled and nodded and with that faded into the shadows.

"Damn it's hot here," Ij said. "We at least made it," River replied looking into the dark cave of the Dragon's Den. The two stepped into the cave and followed a fire lit path to a cavern. "Is anyone here?" Ij asked looking around. A loud thunderous roar bellowed down from the top of the cavern and a massive yellow dragon flew down. "HOLY SHIT?!" Ij cried. "Calm down," River replied, "This is her dragon." The dragon landed on a pile of stones and a rider hopped off of its back. "Well what do I do the pleasure of having royalty grace me with their presence?" asked the rider. "Knock it of Mikiu," River replied, "We have urgent matters to discuss." Mikiu removed her hood and wiped her black bangs from her face. "Urgent matters you say?" Asked Mikiu. River nodded, "Yes and I don't have time to waste with your nonsense." "How did you know we were here?" Ij asked. Mikiu smiled, "Agu here could smell you from miles away," Mikiu replied as she pet the dragon, "Now, these matters of yours River, They wouldn't happen to have something to do with my brother do they?" "Your brother has committed horrible war crimes and must be brought to justice, and we need you to track him down," River replied. Mikiu laughed, "I'm not interested in helping you hunt down Sin, and for you to think that I would betray him I would say you wasted a trip coming here." River glared, "You have an obligation to defend your nation and you will do so." Mikiu turned, "I AM NOT OF DRAKOVIAN BLOOD! AND I WILL NOT BETRAY MY OWN!" Ij backed up for a moment, "Well I can see this is getting a bit out of hand," he said. The group stood quietly for a moment. "My brother isn't a bad person, and you of all people should know that River," Mikiu said. River shook his head, "Our past is irrelevant now, he killed Kisa." Mikiu turned, "The power of Midnight was involved, you know good and well that he didn't do that on his own accord." "I don't have time to waste with you and your loyalty," River replied, "If you won't help then we will search elsewhere." Mikiu frowned, "I will not let you harm Sin, and to prove his innocence I will take you to someone who knows what really happened that day." River stared, "And who might that be?" "Queen Aria, of Lazerus," Mikiu replied. River and Ij backed up in shock. "That's impossible, she was assumed dead?" Ij asked. "Fine," River replied, "take me to Aria and then I will consider whether what you say is true."

"Well, I am impressed," a dark voice called out to Sin, "You managed to enter my realm without the Midnight Stone." Sin stood in the center of what seemed to be a void of darkness, purple stars filled the sky above but the ground was covered in black mist, in front of him sat Thanatos, the Reaper of Souls, in his mighty throne. "You underestimate my power, Thanatos," I replied, "This feud you have with me must end or more innocent people will be killed by Mephis." Thanatos laughed, "You are but a pawn boy, I chose whether or not you control my power when the stone is used, not you." I glared, "I will not allow you to harm those that I care for," I replied. Thanatos stepped down from his throne and walked towards me. "Big words, however, you cannot tell me, a God, what to do, your father took mine away from me at a young age and when I discovered that you were to become my vessel I determined that I would ruin your life just as your father ruined mine," Thanatos replied. I gritted my teeth, "You fail to realize I lost my father on that day as well, we both lost on that day and now you have taken the one person I cherished," I said. The two were quiet for a moment. "You plan to over throw the childish Lord boy?" Thanatos asked. I nodded, "He will pay for what he has done, but I can't do it without your help," I replied. Thanatos was quiet for a moment, "Fine, you may use my power, but know this you are mine to kill not his," Thanatos said. I nodded, "Then we have a mutual understanding?" I asked. Thanatos nodded, "End the tyrants reign."
