5 Episode 5

"NORN DEAR!" cried Lady Astema as she ran to Daigo and flung her arms around him. "Ah this is nice," Daigo said, "I'm glad you guys made it out of there in one piece." "You guys destroyed half the palace," Drake said staring. Daigo grinned, "Oh he's an Emperor I'm sure he can replace it." Drake shook his head, "Well at least your alive." Daigo frowned, "You had that much faith in your master?" Drake glared, "Master? that's kind of a strong word, and no just would have sucked to have to find a new teacher is all." Daigo smiled, "So you admit I am your master?" "Go die," Drake replied. Lady Astema smiled, "Okay you two we should make our way back to Thorn, I am sure the Imperial Counsel will have questions." The group boarded the carriages and made their way back to Thorn.

Inside the palace, guards scramble to clean up the debris and attempt to repair the destroyed parts of the Palace. River and Ij lay in the infirmary recovering from their fight. "I underestimated him," River said sitting up in his bed. "We both underestimated them," Ij replied, "Frost and Sin are very strong, we shouldn't have gotten ahead of ourselves." River gritted his teeth. The doors to the infirmary flew open and Emperor Zias stepped in. "I see you two are alive, that's good," Emperor Zias said. "Good to see you as well father," River replied. Emperor Zias glared, "You two failed to stop Mephis or his Avatars and nearly destroyed my palace, you are lucky I don't kill you myself." River stared, "Sin is strong, even without the power of Midnight." Emperor Zias stood for a moment, "Next time will be different," he said pulling out a orange and red stone. River sat glaring at the stone. "The Rapture Stone, you intend to have me use its power?" River asked. "We may not have a choice," Emperor Zias replied. Ij turned to River and back to Emperor Zias, "Sir is there anything else we can do besides resorting to that?" Emperor Zias turned, "As a matter of fact there is, this stone will be our contingency plan if this fails, I want you to go to the Dragon Empress." "That will not work and you know that," River said, "She will not betray him no matter what he had done." Emperor Zias smiled, "This may be true, however she is a Drakovian, no matter what her ties were to Necrosis before her obligation is to her nation and he will listen to her." "Fine," River replied, "Ij and I will take out leave as soon as we are fully recovered." Emperor Zias turned and walked towards the doors. "The journey to the Dragons Den will be dangerous, Be sure to watch yourselves, and River, do not fail me this time," Emperor Zias said. With that the doors closed and all was quiet. "We are really going to her?" Ij asked. River turned to Ij, "Yes, Mikiu the Dragon Empress will abide by what we say or she will fall with her brother."

"Well it is nice to have you two back," Lord Mephis said with a smile, "I don't know what I would have done without my two favorite Avatars." I stared, "What's our next move?" "Patience, They will pay dearly for their attempt at my life, but Frost is still recovering and Nightshade is the only one who isn't in bandages," Lord Mephis replied. "I am fine," Dan said, "That bastard Norn caught me off guard." "Relax Frost, you will have your chance," Lord Mephis replied, "I am currently working on a war plan with the Generals, once we have everything set we will make our move, but until then you two take it easy." I shook my head, "I suppose this gives me time to finish Nightshades training." "About time," Jon said. I smiled, "Nice to see you motivated, hopefully you'll use that in the next battle." Jon nodded, "I am ready." The doors to the throne room opened and two dark cloaked men stepped in. "Ah, General Blackthorn and Wallace, I take it the plans are complete?" Asked Lord Mephis. "Yes my lord," Blackthorn replied. "And our next target?" Lord Mephis asked. "Thorns capital city, Ortega," Wallace replied.
