1 chapter 1 - The start

In the outskirts of nowhere there was a little village called Wucon, and in that village, there were kids running around and playing happily, their little village where they lived was surrounded by trees, mountains, and animals lurking here and there.

That day, it started normally, the sun would rise from the east and the moon would go to the west disappearing on the horizon, every living being be it children, adult, the old, or the animals, would start to wake up to start the day.

Children would be awakened by their parent to do their chores, as the woman would be taking care of the children and most of the chores in the house, while the men would be going out of the village to go hunt animals to bring back for food.

As the day went on, the children would be done with their chores would go outside to play around with their friends in the hot summer day while some staying in the cool shade of the big trees.

As the children were playing, the elders of the village suddenly yelled out calling all the kids at had the age of 12 and up to come to the center of the village.

That village was always living peacefully isolated from the great things around them like the big cities and kingdoms in the faraway lands. Until a very rare and opportunistic event happened, a nearby sect came from the outside to recruit disciples from the village for the sect.

On that day there was a pair of "friends" that was a boy named David and a girl named Mary short for Marybeth. They were childhood friends since they were little children and even some elders in the village joked about them going to get married in the future when they grow up, and each time Mary heard that she would always blush until her head looked like a red tomato and run away and hide, while George would be denying it saying no and giggling at their statement.

George was a 10 year old kid who had lost his parents at an early age, he was beautiful with a delicate face and was very nice with everyone, he was naive and somewhat dumb. On the other hand, there was Mary who was 13 years old, she has both of her parents and likes very much George but George being naive and dumb doesn't have much feelings for her other than being friends. She is smart beautiful but not as much as George. She is also somewhat mature and definitely not naive and she takes everything seriously. And she is mostly dependent on George which always helps her in different ways like cooking cleaning and always listening to her demands.

"Come let's go"- said Mary enthusiastically

George said-"n..no I can't I'm only 10 years old"

"It doesn't matter you can just come to see, no need to participated," said Marry pulling along George

As they got there, there were lots of adults and elders waiting for the event which was about to happen. To get through the crowd of people they went zigzagging through the crowd of the adults until they reached the center where she was supposed to go.

As she went she was pulling George with her, someone stopped her and said that only childer with the age of 12 years and older, not younger than that could enter. As she heard that she let go of George reluctantly and left him there in the crowd there alone while she went to the center.

As she left George spoke up and said-" I'll be here waiting for you"

As soon as Mary heard that her face instantly had a bright long smile across her face signifying she was really happy(and in love, cough...) with George.

As she waited and waited there, finally someone came out of the house near the center square and went to the middle of the square. The person she expected to come was the village head, but instead, it was someone she and nobody knew. The person was a middle-aged man who looked refined, elegant and seemed really mysterious.

As the man stepped forward he suddenly stopped in the middle of everyone and said-"My name is John Thunderstorm. Now you are all wondering things like Why are you all here? and Whats my purpose coming here?, well that's easy I came here to gather children with talent to join our magnificent and glorious sect named white wood sect"

He continued saying-"If you manage to pass the test that is of talent, intelligence, health, and age. wisdom, you are opened to a door leading to great fortunes and opportunities as you will leave your old lives and be granted new lives where the strong get what they want and prevail. You probably won't be seeing your friends and family anymore or for a really long time as this is a hard journey which is long but worth it."

As the kids heard that they were all happy, screaming and jumping around hugging each other except one person, and that was Mary.

She had a face filled with horror, panic, unwillingness, and anger for coming here on this day as she felt that she was tricked by them(???). She had many thought flying through her head thinking if she was to be accepted she was never going to see her family and especially George. She regretted coming and not hiding with George. As she looked toward the direction of George as she saw him smiling towards her and pushing her to go so she can have a better life. She was feeling and happy both at the same time, sad for seeing him like that and not longing for her to stay if she went, and happy because she could see that smile and she was really caring for her future, but she didn't show it on her face.
