Coffee And Cake

He looks at her straight in the eyes, Jude can't help herself but be conscious of every part of her face.

"Is... there something on my face?" She takes her phone out and looks at her reflection. There was... nothing on her face.

"I was gonna ask what would you like in exchange for helping me out" Khel laughs.

Jude can't help but feel her cheeks burn. Then and there she hated her head for imagining crazy things again.

"Uhh nothing really!" Jude Exclaims. Khel was still looking at her.

"But you actually really helped me out" Khel lifts the bag with the books they chose earlier.

"Ahh really, it was nothing you don't have to pay me as well" Jude says.

"But Jul said I should treat you something in exchange of helping me out" The truth escapes his lips. Jude flinches and thinks that someone would most likely die when that someone decides to come home next month, this person would most likely be Jul.

"Please don't believe every word he says. I think you of all people should know that" Jude points out.

"Still I really do want to thank you for helping me out" Khel Insists.

"But-"

"Please" Khel intercepts.

"Okay!" Jude gives in. Despite the feeling that this is something wrong, Khel's insistence is more annoying the she thought.

"So what would it be?" Khel smiles warmly.

"Coffee, Coffee would be enough" Jude says with sigh.

"How about cake?" Khel suggests.

"I thought i was the one to decide?" Jude protests.

"No, no. I meant coffee and cake?" Khel clarrifies.

"I thought you didn't have enough money left?" Jude asks suspiciously.

"For the gift, yes. It was both mine and Hannah's money, and Hannah specifically told me not to pay in excess of what we saved up. I really didn't get it why, I mean I could just use my money but she insistently refused." Khel scratches his nape and confusion evident on his face from his sister's order.

"Well, I thought you weren't really that attached to your family but you actually proved me wrong just now. I'm impressed." Jude said with a snug smile on her face which she quickly hid.

"Well, we never really got to know each other so that's that." Khel smiles at Jude and Jude smiles back shyly.

"Anyway, so will it be cake and coffee?" Khel asks as he faces the direction of Starbucks.

"Yeah, sure" and Jude follows closely behind him.

Jul was busy preparing for a date with his girlfriend when his phone suddenly rings for a text. The screen flashes a text from "her highness," and he suddenly remembers that she's out today, in the mall, probably on a date, with Khel.

"what did you just do?!" it says.

Jul couldn't help but laugh because of it. She must have felt flustered at first. It was Jude, so he's sure that the setup would definitely be awkward.

"Sorry. He said that he needed help about that, and you're the only person I could think of." He sends back.

He puts his phone back down and continues preparing his things for his own date, when his phone rings again.

"I'm gonna kill you when you get back." her highness says.

He regards his phone for a second, thinking of what to say back to her. He couldn't help but tease her because she's so easy to tease out of their group of friends.

"You're welcome" he sends back to her and goes back to preparing himself.

"You're welcome" is Jul's last reply to her.

They are inside Starbucks and Khel, apparently, volunteered to order their food. She's waiting at their table at the corner, which is the best spot she could ask for.

She ran out of things to say to Jul after his last sarcastic reply. She knows he's playing with her but she can't herself but to still be mad about it.

She puts her head on both of her hands, all Jude could hope for for the rest of this Sunday afternoon is for her not to see anyone she knows or anyone who knows her, because obviously that would mean trouble for her.

She looks back up and obviously fate or whatever it is is playing games with her, because without a doubt a very familiar person just entered the shop. Jude immediately went back into hiding by putting her head back to her hands.

Why, why, why? Why today of all days? She looks back up and knew that her eyes weren't playing tricks on her and now he and Khel are talking. She proceeds to covering her face back down when he sees Khel point a finger to her direction. She doesn't know if that person looked at her and she doesn't even want to know.

Peter is here.
