1 A cry in the storm

Hey everyone!  I hope y'all are living your best lives in this cruel world.

This is one of my first stories, and if you can't tell, I'm a sucker for werewolves and magic so I was like, why not write about both?

I had the thought of making it a slow romance type of book where the characters go back and forth before giving in to each other, especially with the werewolf mate bond. There won't be any smut, (◞‸◟ㆀ)ˢᵒʳʳʸ, but one of my other books has a fairly good amount in it so knock yourselves out when you check it out.

As always, I'm welcome to any feedback given, so don't hesitate to do so, but don't be a meanie ╥﹏╥, otherwise I hope you enjoy the book and don't forget to vote and comment .・:*:・(✿◕3◕)❤.

The thunder was roaring and heavy rain was falling over the academy. as far as the eye could see, which wasn't much, the trees were almost bent under the wind. Adam Reed was looking at the window from his office at the storm raging over, and it oddly brought him peace. As the headmaster of the academy for the specials, Adam was to welcome children from supernatural descend and help them use their abilities for good. It was a heavy responsibility but a great one at the same time.

His eyes snapped at the sudden alien movement near the gates of the school and he immediately turned to it for a better look, but as soon as it happened it disappeared. He quickly called some members of the guard to accompany him and investigate the appearance near the gates.

At first, they didn't see or hear anything but the wailing of a baby caught their attention. It was coming from a tree nearby. "this way" the head warrior called and all the men scurried to the location. what they saw shocked them, there, under the tree was indeed a baby, but it was wrapped in vines that had grown into a rose bush.

"Go see if anyone still linger nearby" Adam called and a few of the men went to patrol the surrounding. Adam never married and didn't have children, but he couldn't help but be pulled to the little creature in front of him. Somehow he felt the need to protect it with all his might, and so he agreed he would.

He cradled the baby in his arms but not before shrugging his coat off and drapping the baby with it. the guards on patrol returned and told their boss that no one was found around the perimeter

Adam didn't want to stay outside for too long because he didn't want the baby to get sick, and she was probably hungry; yes the baby was a girl. When he got inside, Adam immediately called for the head maiden for assistance with the baby who now started crying again.

Agatha was a mage who focused on healing and was thus responsible for the medical care of the sick and injured. her heart broke in million of pieces when she saw Adam carrying the small bundle in his arms.

"What happened," she asked as she took the baby from the arms of a now soaking wet Adam. "Where did you find it"

"Near the gates, I think she was abandoned there for us to find" Adam never stopped looking at the baby, who could be this heartless to abandon a baby in the middle of a storm? he was now starting to get angry at the thought of what would happen to her if he hadn't found her in time.

"Does she have a name?" Agatha's voice brought him back from his thoughts and he slowly shook his head. "What are you gonna name her?" she continued, her eyes never leaving the tiny baby that was now sleeping soundly.

After a moment of thought, Adam finally found the perfect name. " Clover," he said and smiled down at the meaning. From that day, Adam vowed to give Clover, his daughter, the perfect life and to shield her from all evil as long as he lived.
