18 18: Selene Rules.

Luna's POV

As expected, the next day after the auction Gizel immediately paid my mother-in-law a visit.

I was prepared for it so I do not care.

Mother-in-law asked me to cook again for us. Grandma is here but, Grandma isn't here in this room yet so I guess I have to defend myself this time. Gizel and Mother-in-law can be troublesome.

We were sitting at the dinner table and Lucas and Lewis are still upstairs.

"I heard that you almost bought everything in the auction." Mother-in-law brought up.

"That's not true at all mother, I just bought things that I think my friends would be interested in," I said with a smile.

Mother-in-law nodded but I think she is not happy about it.

"Aunty, I was thinking of you when I was in an Auction. I saw a necklace that suits you. It is so bad because I didn't get it for you. I hope aunty can forgive me." Gizel said and looked at my mother-in-law like a homeless rat.

"It's okay Little Gigi, The fact that you are thinking about me is enough," Mother-in-law said with a warm smile.

I just rolled my eyes. Gizel is so fake! She just wants it for herself but pretends that she is going to give it away.

As if someone like her would give out millions of money for nothing duh!

Lucas and Lewis suddenly entered the room for some reason I got so nervous I suddenly remembered what he whispered to me back in when we were in the auction.

"I want you to wear that dress in front of me.">////<

"Mommy, Your face is turning red! Are you okay?" Lewis asked worriedly...

Everyone looked at me and suddenly got worried

"I-I just... The food is getting cold!!" I changed the topic.

"oh, right right! let's eat," mother-in-law said and started digging in.

"Oh right! I heard that Lewis got into trouble last week because he fought with his friend and broke an expensive vase. I was going to pick him up but I couldn't because something came up. Are you okay Lewis?" Gizel pretended to be worried.

I put down my tablewares, put my hands on the table and leaned on it, and listened to what Gizel has to say.

"W-what happened?" Mother-in-law asked confusedly.

I looked at Lucas but he is just sitting there munching his food. I bet he doesn't intend to join this conversation about his son.

I looked at Lewis, He is just looking down.

I know he is afraid to disappoint his grandmother that is also why I didn't mention it in the first place.

"What happened to Lewis?" mother asked worriedly.

Suddenly Great Grandmother entered the room and sat in front of Lewis which made Lewis more nervous.

Lewis looked at me like a pitiful lost puppy and he went to look down again

Grandma is silent as well.

It seems like she is not in the mood to argue

"I heard he got in a fight with his friend and got aggressive so he pushed his friend in an expensive vase causing his friend's injury." She pretended.

"I also heard that the kid is from Qin family. I am not familiar with them though Aunty. They must be a distant family member of mine." Gizel added.

I looked at Lucas again but he is just quiet.

Mother-in-law looked even more worried and looked at Lewis with disappointment but Lewis is still looking down and did not dare to look at his grandmother.

"Sorry mother, I did not tell you because I thought it is not necessary," I said and put down my hand and fixed my posture.

"What exactly happened? How can Lewis fight with his friend?" Mother-in-law asked worriedly

"Well, Lewis said that it is staged. He did not fight him. That little kid did it on his own." I said calmly.

"And you believed that?" Gizel laughed at me.

"Is that the truth? Did you ask him thoroughly?" Mother-in-law asked.

"I just asked him once," I said calmly and played with my wine glass.

"Just --once?" Mother-in-law asked again

I saw Gizel secretly giggling because she thought just killed two birds in one stone.

"How can you be so sure if you just asked him once then?" Gizel pretended to care about Lewis.

I looked at her and smirked.

"If I don't believe my son, then who will?" I asked her and that made her speechless

Mother-in-law looked at me warmly and almost like she is proud of me.

"I know that what my son speaks is the truth, after all, he took after me. If he is lying (which is not) I'll make sure to punish Lucas accordingly. He is to be blamed for not looking after his son when I was sick." I said calmly and looked at Gizel murderously with a smirk.

"Why would you blame brother Lucas for that? He was busy doing his work for his family! Why would you blame him?" Gizel acted pitifully.

"You're exactly the perfect example of Ashford Lulu! Grandma is proud of you!" Great grandmother said with a smile.

"That's exactly how an Ashford should act. Varzant family really taught you well!" Great Grandma said with a proud smile.

"Lucas, do you have any objection about that?" Grandma asked with a trace of threat in her voice.

I looked at Lucas who is giving me a smug smile now.

"I can't help but wish that my son is lying. I wanna see how my wife deals with me." Lucas said with a playful smile on his lips.

AND WHY AM I THINKING ABOUT EROTIC THINGS?!?

"Brother Lucas You---" Gizel couldn't finish her words because I spoke.

"It is just how Varzant and Ashford rule. Outsiders don't have a say in it. As of this discussion, Lewis raises his head. Remember what I told you." I said and fixed Lewis's shirt.

"Granny, Great granny, don't worry. I would never lie to mother." Lewis assured.

suddenly they smiled warmly at Lewis. It is so warm I felt like it is still summer.

-Hours later-

Granny and my mother-in-law already left and I was about to sleep in my own room but...

MY BED IS MISSING!!!

"KINDRED!!"I called out.

Kindred hurried and asked me what's the matter.

"Where is my bed?!"

"Uhh, Mr.Ashford said that if you are asking about your bed, come to his room and talk to him," Kindred said and immediately left the room.

Did Lucas take my bed?

Why would he?!

I immediately went to Lucas's room to talk to him.

I saw him sitting on his bed half-naked.

I covered my eyes with my palm and shouted at him then I threw his shirt near me.

He smirked and stood up then pulled me and pinned me onto his bed while he is on top of me.

I struggled but he is pinning me tightly.

"What do you think you are doing?!" I shouted at him but he is pressing against me too hard so I cannot stand up.

"Don't shout or Lewis might get up." He said calmly with a deep gaze at me.

"Then let go of me!" I angrily whispered.

"I'll let you go but you have to sleep beside me from now on." He said with a straight face

"What do you mean? Are you crazy?! Why would I?!" I angrily whispered again

"Then just forget about it, Let's have some fun tonight." He said with a deep gaze in his eyes and buried his face between my neck and shoulder.

"W-w-wait!! Alright, Alright! I'll sleep beside you!" I panicked

He immediately laid beside me and looked at me with a smug smile.

"Just stay away from me," I said and moved away from him and hid under the thick comforter.

after a few minutes, I checked on him and he is already sleeping.

I can't believe how he sleeps this fast!! ><

I noticed that he is hugging himself and probably feeling cold.. this room is pretty cold, unlike my last room which is pretty hot.

I shared the comforter with Lewis and I can't believe how his expression changes! From a cold homeless puppy, he turned into a puppy who is happily living in a warm house.
