5 Experiment and a Father's Sacrifice.

In a forest, a boy who has horn growing from the left side of his temple is sitting down on a stone in the middle of a river. It was Chase, he came here the next day he learned that he can finally cultivate, actually, he couldn't get much of a sleep last night, so if you look closely his eyes has a dark ring. Even though he didn't get much of an sleep, Chase was still able to meditate, as he inhale and exhale, he's slowly establishing connection to the Spirit Energy, Chase called the water-like feeling Spirit Essence, he thought that it was the Real Spirit Energy because he discovered that it has the same energy density as Stone Essence but unlike the Stone Essence, the his body doesn't reject the Spirit Essence

"Gah! Why am I having a hard time establishing connection with the Spirit Essence? Even though I did it yesterday for the first time."

Chase complained, he couldn't connect to the Spirit Essence. Looking at the sun, it's already afternoon, Chase has been here since early in the morning. And I didn't even get to have a good night sleep, he thought while complaining.

"Again."

Chase meditated again, he emptied his mind and breath slowly. Once again, he tries to establish a connection with the Spirit Essence, he slowly connect his Spirit Nerve to it, but when he can almost connect with the Spirit Essence, his Spirit Nerve closes off, no, something was blocking the entrance to it. Spirit Nerve has only one entrance and one exit. Chase remembered what his teacher said, 'Imagine you have a Cup, there is only one hole in it, right? You will use the hole to put a tea on it and you will also drink it from the same hole, but if you put another hole on the side of the cup, what do you think will happen if you put a tea in it? That's right, the tea will spill through the hole on the side of the cup, that is the same for Spirit Nerve.' Chase also remembered the bald head of that teacher, but that's not really necessary.

"Gah!! I can't do it!"

Chase shouted in complain, he picked up a stone, stand up, and threw it away. The air rumbled, the stone that Chase threw can't be seen on the horizon anymore, that is because it flew a mile away.

"There it is! My super strength!"

Chase picked up another stone, he focused his mind on his right hand that's holding the stone, swung it back, and used all his strength to throw the stone. The air rumbled, or so it was supposed to, but it did not. The stone that Chase threw only reached the other side of the river, a few meters away from him.

"WEAK!"

His face distorted as if it aged a few years, How can that be? Even a 5 year old girl could throw that stone that far, no, a 5 year old girl is over exaggerating...Even A Baby Could Throw Much Further!, Chase thought. He then threw stones again and again, until he ran out of stamina.

"Damn it... Oh, that's right!"

Exhausted, Chase remembered something. Yesterday, when he felt fatigue, he just meditated and the Spirit Essence automatically connects to his Spirit Nerve, and after filling his Spirit Nerve, his fatigue vanished.

"Maybe-"

Chase seems like he discovered something, he sat down again and meditated, the Spirit Essence slowly entered his body and directly flowed toward his Spirit Nerve, there was no obstacle or anything, unlike earlier there was something that's blocking the Spirit Essence from entering, maybe his fatigue has a connection to this. As soon as Chase felt that his Spirit Nerve is full of Spirit Energy, he cut the connection, he then stand up and feel his body.

"The fatigue, it's gone. I'm right! Haha."

Chase happily shouted, laughing loudly he remembered something, his father. Chase immediately leaved the river and before exiting the forest, he picked up some herbs and fruits.

"Father, are you here?"

Chase shouted as soon as he arrived to their worn out house.

"Yeah, I'm here."

A cheerful reply was heard by Chase, yesterday his father was assaulted because they couldn't pay the tax, now after some rest, maybe his father has recovered a little. Chase entered the through the broken door, he saw his father sitting on a chair, with a cup on his hand.

"Father, I got some fruits for you and some edible herbs. Eat it and rest, okay?"

Chase put down the fruit and herbs he picked up from the forest.

"Okay, but before that sit down."

Chase sat down beside his father, his father looked at him.

"Did you apologized to Merta?"

His father asked, Chase stole money from where his working to buy Stone Essence, yesterday Chase said that he will apologize, now his father asks if he did.

"Yeah, I did. I was fired, I'm sorry. "

Chase looked down, of course he will be fired, actually that's just a light punishment, if they want they could have told the knights about this incident but they didn't, that is because Merta who is Chase's employer is a relative of his father, a cousin.

"Sigh, it's okay, but if you ever did that again..."

His father looked at him seriously, of course, Chase know that his father wouldn't forgive him anymore if he ever did that again. Actually, Chase thinks that he's just causing trouble for his father, and by stealing, he just added another problem. But now, Chase is able to cultivate, he will surely not waste time and will immediately practice some techniques.

"I know, I promise I will never do it again."

Chase looked at his father as he promised, his father believed in him, and trusted him, after all, he's the only son he has, even if they are not blood related.

Chase was suprised, he looked at what his father handed to him, it was a receipt of payment for enrolling in Divine Royal Academy. Divine Royal Academy is the most prestigious Academy in their country, yearly, it produces genius students that has reached an incredible Rank in Cultivation. Since it has a great teaching system and provides beyond great services, getting in is almost impossible and most of all, the payment for enrolling is a 5 Gold Coins, and you will still have to take exams. Chase looked at his father.

"Father, where did you get the money for this? This is amazing but I can't accept this if you've sacrifice something important again."

Chase asked, his father didn't answer his question. His father couldn't possibly afford something so expensive, but it's not totally impossible if he...

"Father, don't tell me... Did you sell our farm?"

Chase thought of something that his father couldv'e done to pay for this, there was only one way, and it was to sell their farm, the only thing that's keeping them alive but that's not the importance of that farm, that farm was the only property his father recieved after his parents died.

"No, father, I can't accept this! What if I don't pass the exam?"

Chase couldn't possible let his father sacrifice his own happiness in exchange for his, and also, Chase still haven't told his father that he can finally cultivate.

"I know that you feel different from other children because of the beast's blood running in your veins, and I noticed that you always feel down whenever you heard of some children cultivating. I am already old, I have experienced so many happiness and tragedy in life, now I want to give you a chance to go on your own journey."

His father looked at Chase, there was this warm feeling inside his chest. His eyes has tears building up, threatening to fall at any moment.

"Father... "

Chase, who noticed that his crying, hugged his father tightly. Truly, in his heart he knew that he have the best father in the world, and his thankful that he was picked up by him.

"But what about money? How will we earn money now?"

The farm which was the only source of income they have is gone, Chase is curious where will they get money now.

"Don't worry, I will still work as a farmer, since I sold the farm to the Elders in the family, they will have to hire a farmer to work on it. I suggested that I'll work if they pay me, and they agreed."

Chase's father assured him that he has already planned this.
