13 Did I Pass?

"The next batch is... Chase of the Violet Family, please step forward."

"Yes!" Chase immediately responded and leaved the crowd.

"Greeting, Senior." Cuffing his hands, Chase bowed down to show respect.

'This child is the failure of the Violet Family, isn't it? How shameless of him to enroll in this prestigious academy.' Adris looked down on Chase not responding on his greetings.

Chase on the other hand, don't expect Adris to return a greeting. He knew after all that all the family in the Gaia City knows that he is the only failure child of the Violet Family.

"Nash of the Orange Family, please step forward. "

"Drake of the Brown Family, please step forward. "

"Mario of the Dwarven Kingdom, please step forward."

"And, Miles of the Violet Family, please step forward."

All the 2nd batch examinees are now in front of Adris. Each one of them bowed to show respect. Adris nodded to their greetings, except for Chase's.

"Uhmm, Senior, I didn't know that a cripple is also being accepted by the academy."

A boy with brown hair, average height and face, it was Nash who said that. He turned his eyes pointing to Chase, then smiled. He seems to be plotting something against Chase.

Nash is one of the boys that Chase beaten up back then. When Chase used mysterious arts back then, they all lost conciousness and were convulsing in fear. But right now, Nash seems to be fine even though the one who made him sleep for two days is near him.

"Nash, stop that! I apologize to Senior for my friend's words."

The boy beside Nash stopped him. It was a boy with brown hair, black shaded eyes, and with an above average height. It was Drake who stopped Nash, he covered Nash's mouth with his hand then looked at Chase with fear lingering in his eyes.

Back then, he was ordered by Chase to take the two back home. Two days later they woke up from their deep sleep, when they were asked about what happened, they said they don't remember anything at all. Drake who was also asked said the same thing and made different excuses.

Drake didn't give the answer because he knows what happened, they were almost killed by Chase and he's too afraid to say anything because if he did so, he feels like his life will suddenly meet it's end.

Chase felt a gaze looking at him, he turned his head and meets Drake's gaze. Drake who saw Chase's eye, averted his gaze quickly. His heart was palpitating so hard that it might explode in fear.

"Hmm.. No need to apologize. This kid does have a point." Adris then looked at Chase who was at the very right side of the line, opposite of their location.

Nash who heard Adris agree with him tried to talk but Drake's hand is still covering his mouth, preventing him to talk.

"He won't be able to pass anyway. Alright then, let's start the first stage of the exam. All examinees, go in front of the stones and commence."

'Hmph, there's no way that cripple will pass this stage.' Adris thought. Since he know that Chase can't cultivate, he already concluded that it's impossible for him to pass.

The examinees except Chase, lifted their hands and put it on top of the stones. Chase just watched them do nothing after putting their hands.

"Hmph, look at that cripple. He's not doing anything at all."

Aries who was one of the examinees who passed was in the side. Since he forgot how badly he was beaten by Chase, he immediately mocked Chase once he saw his face.

"Look at how dumb he is. Hahaha, he's completely clueless on what should be done."

Aries laughed as he mock Chase, he thinks that maybe Chase has given up and just want to know what it feels to be with others who can cultivate. Aries laughed again.

"Tsk, so noisy."

"What?! Who said tha-! "

Aries heard someone speak badly of him. He turned his head to his right side and saw a girl whose beauty seems to compare to that of an Angel's. With white flowing hair, blue shaded eyes, and slim curvy body, she seems to be the very embodiment of Beauty.

Aries instantly became silent after looking at her.

"Alice?"

Alice one of the Big 5 who easily passed first stage with ease. Hearing Aries say her name, her face immediately turned disgusted as he look at Aries.

"Please don't say my name. It feels like I'm being defiled, so please don't."

"Don't be like that. Aren't we the Big 5? We really should get along, you know? "

Aries streched out his open palm trying to invite Alice to a handshake. But Alice swiftly backed away from Aries, while feeling disgusted.

His open palm still in the air, Aries immediately felt dejected when he was rejected to a handshake.

"Hmph. " Paying no more attention to Aries, Alice then continued watching the examinees. She looked at Chase, she seems puzzled to why Chase is still not doing a thing.

'Is he searching for clues from the other examinees?' She thought. She looked closely to what Chase is doing then her is face suddenly printed with amazed expression.

Looking from afar, Chase seem to be doing nothing. But if you observe closely, his presence seems to have vanished. His breathing interval is quite amazing, his concentration is so deep that it erases his presence.

'He's slowly controlling his Spirit Energy.' Alice who noticed these things, started to feel Chase's concentration drive from the side. She then looked at the other three beside her, only to see that they already noticed Chase's drive according to their serious gaze to him.

'Chase, huh? Controlling your Spirit Energy to this level despite being called a cripple, just how did you manage to do this?' Alice whose interest was piqued, continued watching Chase.

On the other hand, Chase knows that someone looking at him but he paid it no mind since he want's to focus on controlling his Spirit Energy.

He circulated his Spirot Energy within him and directed it slowly to his hands. He knows that the Stone will react to Spirit Energy even without them telling him. With simple deduction, Chase figured out the most possible way to make the stone glow.

'Hmm... This should be enough.' Chase nodded.

He then slowly lifted his right hand then put it on top of the stone.

'Hmph, trying to do what you can't? You're just trying to embarras yourself. ' Adris who was observing the examination, thought.

As soon as Chase's hand touched the stone, a bright white light flashed causing all those watching the examination to be temporarily lose their vision.

"Wait, what happened?"

"Mama! I'm blind."

"Kyaah!!"

Several panicked voices of the crowd filled the air.

On the side, the Big 5 seems to have covered their eyes so they avoided the blinding flashed.

'Chase, just what did you do?' Alice who knows who caused the light, thought.

After a few seconds, the light dissipitated quickly, and the visions of those blinded slowly came back.

As Alice take off her hand from blocking her eyes, a ray of light then touched her eyes again. It was not blinding blinding, it was just a light.

Alice, Adris, June, Tasha, and Prince Taylor completely took of their hands from their eyes and in front of them was an unwavering white light.

"There! I overdid it but I finally made the Spirit Energy stable. Woah! That scared me." Chase then looked at Adris and said.

"Anyway, did I pass?"
