Chapter 1

It was a thundering night in the city of Salem at a boy's dorm at an academy. A young man named Isaac Atwood, black haired, gray eyes, and seventeen years old; was sleeping in his bed with a teddy bear with him. Lightning struck as it roared loudly, waking him up. He accidently dropped his bear as he reached out to the floor to grab it. He then looked ahead and saw a girl right in front of him as she was sitting at the other end of his bed. She had burgundy hair, violet eyes and wearing an all-black battle uniform that had an old Victorian style look. He ignored her as he grabbed his bear and putting it back on his bed.

"I'm guessing a late-night mission. And you can't scare me that easily." Said Isaac.

"Obviously, I failed. And yeah, late night mission." Said Violet as she turned and sat on the ledge of the bed.

"You could've called. But I'm sure you were trying to get a bite on me." Said Isaac.

"Pff, what!? No…just a little bite?" Violet asked as she clamped her hands together.

"No. We have a job to do. Give me a minute to get ready." Said Isaac.

"Killjoy. But Alright. We'll be outside." Said Violet as she left.

Isaac got off his bed and walked over to his closet door. Inside was of his normal close, but he pressed a button under the closet switch, that was on his right. His entire closet revolved around, revealing his battle clothes, gear, and weapons. He started to put his things on, until a ghost head phased through the wall to his left.

"Ah! Jasper, what the hell?" Isaac responded, startled.

"Sorry, the guys wanted me to hurry you up." Said Jasper.

"Impatient as always. Get to Berta. I'll be there." Said Isaac.

"I'll tell them that." Said Jasper.

He floated down through the floor as a minute passed and he walked out his room, geared up. He put on a locket around his neck. He tucked it in, while he made his way outside of the dorm. He saw his team as it was a group of seven, three girls and four boys. They all were standing next to an armored vehicle, that had the name, Berta, on the side.

Isaac is part of an organization called the Hunters. They stop monsters from revealing themselves to mankind since it's a secret. They arrest, hunter or kill monster that are a threat to others and are paid by the government. Isaac is the leader of his group, even though he's human. His group had Marcus Rowe, Werewolf, 17, brown hair, dark blue eyes, half Native America and Caucasian America and Isaac's right hand man. Violet Turner, vampire, granddaughter of Dracula, 95 and fluent in many languages. Franklin Lundberg, Frankenstein monster, black hair, Half Hawaiian and half Caucasian American, tan skin, light blue eyes, 17, mechanic and the muscle. Jasper Cruz, ghost, gray hair, light brown eyes, pale skin, Latino, stealthy and good at scouting. Garfield or Garry Oswald, reptilian/amphibian/ sea creature-Chimera, orange hair, green eyes, loves comics and manga. A big nerd. Scarlet O'Donnell, witch, brown hair with red highlights, brown eyes, brains, magic prodigy, and love's cute things. And Iris Nefer, mummy, black hair, brown eyes, tan skin, familiar summoner, silent. As well as loves animals.

"Yo, Isaac! What's the job?" Garry asked.

"Scarlet, pull up the map." Said Isaac as he approached them.

Scarlet used her magic to make a holographic map of the city as everyone listened.

"Recently, a sanctuary was attacked by an unknown threat. They killed every hunter that was stationed there to protect the place. Now, they have the people doing work for them." Said Isaac as he zoomed in on the city's park.

"Who has the balls to do that?" Marcus asked.

"Don't know. Right now, other hunters are trying to liberate the place, but they have strong forces. So, that'll be taken care of, hopefully soon." Said Isaac.

"But what's the job?" Garry asked.

"I'm getting to that. Patience, Gare. Hunters have spotted a group of ogres entering the city's park at night and we're here to see why they are here. Side note, do not attack them. They're being forced to do this, so no use of force. Unless they attack you." Said Isaac.

"Why the park?" Franklin asked.

"Ogres like trees?" Said Garry.

"Mostly like for cover." Said Scarlet.

"Duh." Said Iris.

"I wonder if they came for the new playground. It's awesome." Said Violet.

"Why were you at the playground?" Jasper asked.

"You know, walking…" Said Violet responded, while glancing to her side.

"Sure. But focus. Franklin, Violet, Marcus, Jasper and I are going to confront them. Iris, Scarlet and Garry. You three are in charge of evacuating this area." Said Isaac.

"What should we say?" Scarlet asked.

"Make something up. Whatever comes to mind. And try to make it believable. Let's going gang." Said Isaac.

"Alright, let's do this!" Violet cheered as they all got on the vehicle.

"Hey, guys. We should get something to eat after this." Said Marcus.

"I'm in." Said Franklin.

"Iris and I would like to go." Said Scarlet as Iris nodded.

"Count me in, too. I get hungry after a job." Said Garry.

"You're always get hungry, Gare. But I got nothing to do." Said Jasper.

"Sounds like fun. You in, Isaac?" Violet asked.

"You guys can go. I have to turn in the paperwork." Said Isaac.

"Come on, I! You never want to hang out." Said Violet as everyone responded as well.

"As leader, I have the most responsibilities. Which means I do the boring work, while you guys don't. My second in command can do it, but we all know Marcus isn't the type to do this. So, that just leaves me. Plus, I need some sleep. Since we have class tomorrow." Said Isaac as the vehicle drove through the streets.

"Ugh, don't remind me. Class is so boring!" Said Violet.

"I hear ya." Said Marcus.

It would be later as Isaac, Violet, Marcus, Jasper and Franklin were in the park. They were searching for the ogres as Marcus could smell their scent on the ground as he was on all fours. Isaac closed his eyes for a second as then opened them and lead them. While Garry, Iris and Scarlet were getting the people out of the park, while wearing police officer clothes and showing a fake badge. Scarlet was casting a spell by Berta, while Iris stood with Garry and was directing the people away.

"Can I get everyone's attention, please!" Garry yelled.

"What's going?" Said man.

"Is it me or is that guy a little too young to be an officer?" Said a woman.

"We need everyone out of the park quickly! We've been told that there are…bears in the park!" Garry shouted.

"That's his plan!" Said Scarlet as she looked up.

"Mm-hmm." Iris nodded.

"Show us your badge." Said a man.

Garry looked at Scarlet as she cast her spell and it affect everyone's mind as they all immediately believe Garry as they started to leave.

"Nice one, Scar." Said Garry as he gave her a thumbs-up.

In the deeper parts of the park, Isaac and the others were on guard and still searching. Isaac, Marcus, and Franklin were walking on the ground, while Violet was jumping from tree to tree as Jasper floated.

"Hey, Isaac. How much are they paying us for this job?" Marcus asked.

"We'll worry about that later. But you will be paid well." Said Isaac.

"I love the sound of that." Said Marcus.

"Which reminds me. I need to buy parts for Berta. Since Marcus left a dent on my baby." Said Franklin as he looked at Marcus.

"I said I was sorry. Damn orcs pissed me off yesterday." Said Marcus.

"Focus. And Franklin, I'll pitch with the parts." Said Isaac.

"You don't have to do that, Isaac." Said Franklin.

"Yeah, Marcus should pay." Said Violet.

"Don't make me throw garlic at you." Said Marcus.

"It's fine. And Marcus. Learn to control your temper. You've been letting it get the better of you lately. Make sure this doesn't happen again. Understood?" Said Isaac.

"Y-Yeah." Said Marcus as he looked a bit ashamed.

"You got yelled at~." Said Violet teasingly as Marcus growled at her.

"Guys, five ogres ahead." Said Jasper.

They hid themselves and slowly approached the group. They saw that they were waiting for something as they had a large chest with them.

"When is he coming? I grow tired of waiting." Said one of the ogres.

"Be patient. Don't you remember what they did to the village?" Said another ogre.

"Excuse me." Said Isaac.

They all turned quickly towards Isaac as he had his hands up, while approaching them.

"May I ask why you all are here?" Isaac asked.

"Why does he sound like the one who attacked our village?" Said one of the ogres.

"Beg your pardon?" Said Isaac.

"Maybe it's a trap! He did say the hunters would try to stop us. We can't let them take the chest!" Said one of the ogres.

"Attack!" Said one of the ogres.

One of them charged towards Isaac, but Franklin charged at the ogre, tackled him and pinned him into a nearby tree, knocking him unconscious. The other ogres charged as well, while Isaac drew his pistols and shot rubber bullets at the ogre's face's. It stunned them for a minute as Marcus, Violet and Jasper jumped out of cover. Marcus jumped at one of them, grabbed its face and slammed it to the ground. Violet dashed up to another and spin kicked an ogre in head. And Jasper flew to an ogre as it swung its club at him. But he phased through as he possessed the ogres body and made him hit himself on the head. Jasper flew out of the body as the ogre fell to the ground and passed out. One of the ogres, who was very young, was still guarding the chest as he didn't know what to do. Until he lowered his club and held his hands up.

"I-I surrender!" Said the ogre.

"Violet, keep an eye on him. Marcus, Jasper. Check on the ogres. Franklin check what's in the chest." Said Isaac.

"Please don't try anything. I can easy snap your neck if I wanted to." Said Violet as the ogre became extremely frightened.

Franklin walked up to the chest and opened it and saw it filled with gold and silver.

"Whoa, there's gold and silver in this chest!" Said Franklin.

"Really?" Violet asked as she quickly turned her head.

Isaac walked up to the chest and saw everything. He then closed it and approached the ogre as he trembled in fear.

"Please don't kill me! I haven't done anything wrong. I think." Said the ogre.

"Just answer my questions. Why were you all here? And why is the chest full of gold and silver?" Isaac asked.

"We didn't steal if that's what you're thinking. We mined it. We were making a payment." Said the ogre.

"Payment?" To whom? And why?" Isaac asked.

"A man and a group of his attacked a sanctuary we lived in. He slaughtered all the hunters and forced us to do his bidding. He demanded all the gold and silver we could mine and in return, he wouldn't kill us. Some refuse to work for him, but he killed them on the spot. He wielded a black sword it had terrifying presence of dark magic. He also looks like you." Said the ogre.

Isaac paused for a long second as he remembered a someone laughing and had the same exact sword.

"I see. (It has to be him…)" Said Isaac.
