Monster Under My Bed

#Chapter1

-Nice.

Scar POV.

/"What's this meeting about?/" I ask my fellow demon lord, Lucifer have called us to another meeting, we all hope he's in a good mood, and that his pet is there, your chance of not getting killed when she's there are higher than when she's not.

Lucifer got a pet, what a funny story, what a weird idea, tell me before that my king would be getting a pet, one that would make him smile, that would make him act nice! Lucifer is never nice, I'd just laugh at them, but now seeing it for real with my own eyes, that was something that got me speechless, he's something, she's something for sure.

/"No idea,/" the other lord says, only the higher demons are allowed on his floor, only us are allowed inside his throne room, and when we're called we better go before he comes after us, hunting our asses, he's not that nice really.

We both walked inside, me and most of the lords, every one of us was the leader of their own family and house, we are in charge of lower demons, of recruiting more demons, of making sure to keep them in line and obeying the king orders. I saw the king, in all his dark glory sitting on the throne, lucky us the pet was there too, but she's napping, damn it, he could kill all of us and demand to get new lords before her nap is over.

Nova is sleeping on her bed-chair like, her head turned toward Lucifer, his hand touching her head every now and then, her tail moving every now and then slowly meaning she's fully asleep. Lucifer was smiling, but that smile might just be meant for the puppy and not out of happiness, or joy to see us.

Keiran, the falling angel and the hell leader right hand, he seemed to be enjoying all this, he knew something we don't and that's never a good sign, they might just be planning on taking over heaven, god knows the first time we tried to do that, it's how all of us came here to become fallen, demons, and king of hell.

/"My lords, my loyal servants.../" he says breaking in a laugh, the king of laughing, lord have mercy.

/"I'm feeling nice, I'm feeling generous, having Nova has changed me, I think she's the most joy I've had since the day I became king,/" he says, he hated being the king of hell, he was forced down here, he tolerates it, but hates it.

/"We getting a raise?/" one of the lords says, but the thing is, I'm not the most social one, I'm not the most loved or popular one, even my family is mostly afraid of me, but they have to respect me as do most of the other lords.

/"No, you're getting a chance,/" he says, now that got most of my attention, a chance to leave? A chance to kill the jerk standing in front of me.

/"King has decided, that you all could have a chance and get a little of your own, a pet,/" Keiran says, everyone started to murmur, they are happy about this, they all want what the king has.

/"When can we go and get them/" the same jerk who'd I love to hit asks.

/"I think you have mistaken my kindness to foulness,/" the king says angrily now, standing, they've messed up now, he's not nice for sure.

/"You idiots, think I'll let you roam free and kidnap some worthless humans and call them your pets/" he says between gritted teeth, that was what they all understood, no one wants a pet like Nova, they wouldn't care for love or care like the one she provides.

/"If and only if you want one, you have to take my permission first, Keiran would always supervise. You have three hundred and sixty-five days to get a willing pet, under the condition that they fall for you without knowing what you are, and you all get one and one pet only/" Lucifer says, here comes the Lucifer we know, it's the king of hell, after all, he's not that nice.

/"One!/" one of the idiots shout.

/"What should we tell them? We are a vampire?/" another one calls, he's right, if we can't show up what we are, how would the littles fall for us.

/"Figure it out! If you do anything I don't approve of, you'll be pulled back to hell./" Lucifer yells at us, his yelling and anger got Nova to wake up, the red-haired puppy, looked around searching for him, when he doesn't pay her the attention she wanted. She ran toward him, hugging his leg, he doesn't answer right away, dismissing everyone, before pulling her into his arms.

I was the last one to leave, but I stayed long enough to see how his anger turned to love and care when he held the puppy in his arms.

Something inside me shifted, I knew one thing, I wanted one like her, I want a little too, someone to love and care for.
