3 Chapter 3: Destruction

After that day in the hospital when I met the harbingers of destiny I aspired to be a monster slayer no matter what. When I got released from the hospital it was night time and my mother was waiting outside. She hugged me tightly and said, " I wouldn't know what I would do if you died! I love you as much as the nature loves the Earth. Never forget that." A couple weeks later my mom and I were walking to the store to buy health supplies since I was still recovering from my injuries but on the way their the alarms for our district sounded and then I heard a roar that made the ground shake, it was a black dragon. A black dragon is the strongest type of dragon their is and can command monsters. Everyone went crazy, everyone was running everywhere my mom held on to me tight to make sure we were together and so she doesn't lose me. My mom and I starting running to the bunker out district had in place for accidents like this but the dragon wasn't far behind us and everyone else, it destroyed everything In it's path making way for other monsters. My mom and I got pushed to the ground by all the other people who are panicking but in my my head I didn't lose hope. I know that monster slayers will com and save us I know that the harbingers of destiny will come and save us. I got up and helped my mom up but when I looked behind us the dragon was standing over us. The dragon and I locked eyes. His eyes were full of rage and murder, he had a scar running on his nose to his eye .The dragon moved so quickly I didn't have time to react so I just closed my eyes and accepted my fate. But at the last moment my mother pushed me away and sacrificed herself for me. When I looked at her she was smiling and telling me, " I know you will grow strong and kind and I'm sad not to see you grow but I love you. I love you the way the nature loves the Earth. run and keep on running, never look back." Before I could respond I was getting pulled away by one of the townsfolk. All I can see is my mother getting devoured by the black dragon and blood everywhere. The doors to the bunker closed and all I can feel is anger and sadness. The person who pulled me to safety took me to his family and held me tight. The thoughts running through my head started flowing out through my mouth and towards my savior, " Why, why did you take me away from her?! Why! All I wanted was to enjoy the day with my mother! Why do monsters have to take the one person who I love most, why do they kill and destroy!" I'm pounding on my saviors chest out of anger and crying out of sadness' I can't control my emotions, they're just flowing out. Eventually monster slayers run the black dragon and monsters out of the district but at a cost. When they opened the doers to the bunker there were dead monster slayer and townsfolk bodies everywhere. Houses destroyed, blood everywhere. I searched for my mother's body but couldn't find it at all. The man who saved me took me into his family and adopted me because I had no one, no mother nor father because they both ascended into the land of gods.
