5 Chapter 4

"This is more like it!" Leon stepped out of the sea, his clothes bearing not a drop of water.

It'd taken him nearly a month to arrive and along the way he'd played around with his power and slain a few valuable creatures. Leon intended to sell them on the mainland, and even though he could just create currency, it was more exciting to trade for it.

"Huh? Not quite what I expected."

Instead of the bustling and lively port he'd been expecting, all he saw were rotting buildings and hollow shells of once proud ships.

"Bit drab isn't it?"Leon kicked a heavily rotten wooden support beside him, but aside from a few pieces breaking off nothing happened. It was a clear sign that this town's foundations were far stronger than they seemed, perhaps in the future it would return to its former glory.

Smiling, Leon waved a hand at the wooden supports. Immediately the rotten and blackened parts began to drop to the sand, quickly being replaced by shiny wood that was even stronger than the original.

He didn't plan to intervene with the course of history, but he didn't mind a helping hand such as this.

Once the supports had been fully restored, Leon jumped onto to pier and looked around; he wasn't surprised to see it was in a similarly dilapidated state. He sighed, "How things can change."

He'd used his power to peer into the town's past, back then it was a chaotic hub of trade and adventure, but now....

A tyrannical storm had hit the fishing grounds, taking down the few safe passages as it did so. Immediately the adventurers left and trade gradually dried up, no same merchant was willing to risk their life to deliver to a dying town. 50 years had passed since the town's prestige faded, all that now remained were a few of its oldest inhabitants and those unable to leave.

Leon no longer had any plans to stick around, but he didn't mind giving the town one final push. In a few days time another storm would hit, but this one would reveal an ancient trench home to many otherwise extinct species, naturally merchants flocked to the town, ignoring the potential dangers.

"I suppose this really is a first then?" Leon brushed the bark of a humongous tree, taking in the heavy scent of the earth.

He'd been travelling for a few hours now, not going any faster than a normal pace. Initially he'd raced along, killing some strong creatures as he went, but by some unlucky happening he ran into a strange three eyed wolf. Naturally he took care of it with ease, but then came another and another and another and another until his every move was surrounded by a seemingly endless horde of snarling canines.

Sure he could just wipe them out, but who knew what that would do to the ecosystem; he didn't want to accidentally add something to the menu.

Growl!!!!

'SERIOUSLY! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!!'

Hundreds of three eyed wolves were appearing from the undergrowth and Leon could see the reckless hunger in their eyes; he was paying the price for underestimating the bond of a pack and he didn't like it.

"INTRUDER!!!"

Leon looked up and saw a red faced humanoid glaring at him from the tree tops, 'ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!!'

Sighing he said, "Look I don't wanna fight or anything, but these stupid creatures won't go away!"

The humanoid paled, these "stupid" wolves were one of the three protectors of their tribe, each one could calmly take on a squad of their best fighters. If not for the pact having been made thousands of years ago when the ancients were still around, then there was no doubt they'd have been completely devoured by the wolves.

"You...stay there!" The humanoid hesitated, but eventually choose to inform it's tribe of what was going on; he could smell fresh blood and the wolves always made sure to cover their killings with their own markings, they'd also never allow another creature to hunt in their territory.

As the humanoid rushed back to its tribe Leon was left alone with the wolves once more, "Ok stupid mutts, who wants to play frisbee!"

Poof!

Every other tree in the area had been teleported to a different location, leaving Leon with a much clearer field to play on. Even if he did have ultimate power he couldn't exactly throw through a tree, not without piercing through at least, and then what was the point?

Broadcasting his thoughts Leon created a handful of multicoloured discs, each with a large hole in the middle, 'Look, I'm sorry for killing your friends, my bad, but there's no point in you guys attacking, you'll just get killed too. So instead we're gonna play a game, I throw a frisbee' he pointed at the discs, 'and whoever catched them gets a reward.'

It took a few minutes but the wolves somehow managed to understand, of course this had a lot to do with the array of dead marine life behind him.

'READY!!! STEADY!!! GO!!!'

Leon threw the frisbees at incredible speed, but still just within the wolves ability, he didn't want them to fail compeletely and give up at the first hurdle.

Awoooo!!!!

One wolf had managed to leap and catch a green frisbee, immediately it looked at Leon for its reward.

Smiling Leon tore off a crab leg and threw it to the victorious wolf, "Greedy dogs."

Grrrrrr!!!!

The other wolves growled menacingly as they saw the crab leg dissapear into their siblings stomach, of course they would never dare actually harm her but they expressed their outrage nonetheless.

"Time for round two!"

Reappearing in Leon's hand the frisbees flew out with speed even greater than before, but the wolves competitiveness pushed them to new bounds and this time 4 wolves were able to claim a prize.

"Haha this is fun!"

Before the wolves could fully register it, the frisbees were soaring through the air once more; meanwhile the successful wolves were off to the side quickly devouring their food.

AWOOOOO!!!

In the midst of the game a new group of wolves arrived, announcing their presence with a loud howl of dominance.

'What are you doing with my children?' A motherly yet threatening voice flowed into Leon's mind.

Blushing Leon responded, 'Oh sorry, you must be mom, we're playing frisbee.'

Cocking her head to the side the wolf asked, 'What is fris-bee?'

'Um, it's probably easier if you just watch.' Leon waited for her permission.

'Very well, let me see what's worked my children into such excitement.'

Nodding, Leon looked at the hundreds of eager wolves waiting for him to start.

"GO!"

WHOOSH!

The frisbees raced through the air and the wolves in front could only watch helplessly as they soared over their heads, however at the back of the game the other wolves were low to the ground, muscles tensed and ready to snatch the discs from the air.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Leon had used too much force and caused the wolves to slide back into the nearby trees, but they shook it off almost instantly and dashed forwards, barely bothering to drop the frisbees before descending onto their prize.

'ME!'

'ME!'

'ME!'

'ME!'

'ME!'

'ME!'

The alpha wolves defending the queen were roused into a frenzy, each one desperate to join the game - but they still waited for the queen's permission.

AWOOOOOO!!!

Howling violently the wolf mother snarled and said, 'We'll be playing too then!'

With the addition of the queen and her entourage the game became even more chaotic, if not for Leon continuously healing the injured wolves then the death count would be in the tens! The surroundings suffered too and numerous trees had been smashed into firewood, usually this kind of destruction would attract other creatures, but with the ever increasing amount of wolves none dared to interrupt.

'FUN!'

'FUN!'

'FUN!

'FUN!'

'FUN!'

All the wolves shared the same thought and the combined intent lead to a heavy and violent pressure, of course the wolves themselves were not affected, but the nearby territories were cowering in their burrows.

Eventually though the food ran out and the wolves enthusiasm died down, they still fought fiercely for the frisbees, but there were far less collisions and a great deal less blood.

'Thank you for this game kind creature, my children and I have had great fun.' The wolf mother signalled to the alphas and the wolves gradually left the scene, they'd shirked their duties for over an hour by now and any longer would leave their massive territory at risk.

"WHAT ON EARTH HAVE YOU DONE!!!"

Leon turned and saw a group of human like creatures, amongst them was the red faced one from before, he wasn't exactly a fan of their attitude, but he could understand their point of view. Of course if not for his omnipotence he wouldn't understand anything at all, because they were speaking a different language. It wasn't really a surprise, you couldn't exactly expect every dialect to be English, that didn't even happen on earth, let alone other worlds! The people spoke using a complex set of guttural noises, similar to that of a wild animal, but Leon knew this was just a trick to scare him; clearly the first one hadn't properly relayed the message, or was stupid enough to think he just got lucky with the words.

Sighing Leon explained, "Look, I don't want to hurt you, in fact I actually want to be as far away from you all as possible, but I can't do that without breaking one of my rules so here we are. Just lead me to the nearest city and I'll be outta your hair...oh you're bald actually."

'FINE! LEAVE AT ONCE STUPID CREATURE!' A member of the group pointed North, clearly having no attention to be Leon's guide.

"Thanks."

Leon didn't have the patience to play with the gang of baldies so he simply headed in the direction they recommended.

Later that night when the small group returned to the main tribe, hundreds of wolves appeared from the shadows and blocked the exits.

The cries of the people rang throughout the night, but the wolves paid it no mind. In normal circumstances they were unable to harm the Leaf people, but for some uknown reason the blood pact between them had suddenly broken.

As per their arrogant nature the leaf people had abused the ancient pact and forced the wolves to do many things against their will, hundreds of cubs had been sold into slavery and numerous proud wolves had been subdued and turned into spiritless mounts. When the Leaf tribes ancestors tried to call upon the power of the ancients they had all been struck down by red lightning.

In but a day the Leaf tribe had become no more.
