Chapter 0.5 prologue

'We all wish that we had super powers and some people even believe that they do however if faced with a reason to become someone with superpowers it changes everything'

A world where everyone has powers means those without are looked down upon and judged. But they are the normal just forgotten to time.

2 decades ago an outbreak happened where massive monsters which we refer to as Behemoths were sighted and they came in all different shapes and sizes. The first sighting happened in a remote island off the coast of America and it took the whole of the U.S army to take one of them down.

Since America had been the country that had been attacked the rest of the world felt unfazed by what the American government had witnessed. That lasted for a single month...

The month after the first first sighting and encounter with these horrific monsters they appeared again not in one place but in multiple corners of the world.

The first one was seen in Britain, the second in Russia, the third in Spain and the fourth in Australia. After the outbreak the governments of each country decided something was not right and banded together to support each other

They decided that they needed a better way to tackle the Behemoths and so scientists looked for a way to enhance a human to have extraordinary powers enough to take on these monsters.

Unfortunately in the months it took to make the serum the human population all over the world was almost halved by the monsters...

The scientists made a serum which awakened a human to their hunter side. This resulted in massive strength,agility,vitality,sense and intelligence boosts and each person who was awakened had different specialties and some were miles stronger than others.

To stop children becoming Hunters they made the rule of you having to be at least 18 years old because receiving the serum.

They made Hunter classes. To better section the Hunters so they can deal with a Behemoth their level.

With the 5 Behemoth levels they correlate to the size and number of the monsters. So if it's a single 5m behemoth it would be an infant threat but if it's several 15m Behemoths is would be an Apex threat. And the worst size behemoth you can encounter is a 30m behemoth and that is a Legendary threat. However that's not the worst level of danger... War.

War means where there are Ten or more 30m behemoths because just 2 of them could wipe out an entire country. If there were ever another War level threat every active Hunter would have to race against them.

These Six different Classes were what you were put into when you first got awakened and with this knowledge you were then sent off to different levels of Behemoths and were paid for your service if successfully killed.

However just because you became a 'Hunter' didn't make you invincible in the lower ranks of Hunters the death rate is fairly high so as a way to stop Hunters dying they often teamed up with other hunters to make sure they wouldn't die.

However in the Hunter rank and higher they could tackle Behemoths by themselves if the so desired. So the world is now riddled with monsters and more and more people are becoming Hunters to fight back against the Behemoths.

That's where I come in my name is Marshall and I want to become the strongest Hunter!

I'm 18 years old and I've been obsessed with becoming a Hunter for the last 10 years I've been training my body as best I can so I have a head start on the other people who go and receive the serum. Even though it doesn't make a difference in what rank I could get I still think I would have an edge.

Today is the day I get my serum injection and finally become a Hunter! This is what the last 10 years of preparation have been for and I'll be damned if I mess this up. Watch out world here I come!!!
