Mount Natagumo
A while later
Yami, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu had healed and gathered Inosuke's things. Tanjiro folded his kimono and made a pillow, while Zenitsu made his Kimono a blanket. Yami poured Healing potion into Inosuke's mouth. He had so many, it was really nothing, he even had stamina potions.
They were sitting down and Yami was eating candies, he gave some to the kids as apology for knocking them out and kept his sword on his lap. He thought to himself 'I really need to get sharpening stones... Maybe in the next town...'
Suddenly!
Inosuke opened his eyes before screaming "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he jumped up and chased Zenitsu, shouting "FIGHT ME!" Zenitsu, shouted back "I DON'T WANNA! LEAVE ME ALONE!" before hiding behind the little girl. Inosuke stopped and looked at Tanjiro, who was burying the bodies of the dead people inside the house.
He pointed at Tanjiro and said "What are you doing?!" Tanjiro said "Having a burial. A lot of people died inside there. You should help out too." Insokue waved his arm saying "What the point of putting dead people in the ground! Forget it, I'm not doing it! Not on your life!" Tanjiro said "Ohh! I see."
Inosuke looked at him and Tanjiro said "You can't do anything because of your injuries. Everyone handles their pain threshold differently, dragging out bodies and digging holes is hard work. You should get some rest." Inosuke had veins popping up all over his face and he jumped up, shouting "AHHH! YOU'RE UNDERESTIMATING ME?! I'LL BURY 100, NO! 200 BODIES! I'LL DO ALL THE WORK!"
As he ran into the house and started dragging bodies out.
Yami watched him run around like a crazy person, while he just ate his candies in peace.
A while later
Tanjiro and the rest, except Yami and Inosuke, were praying for the bodies. Inosuke was ramming his head into a tree and Yami had his eyes closed with his hands on his sword, seated cross-legged on the ground.
A crow flew over and circled in the air shouting "DESCEND THE MOUNTAIN! DESCEND THE MOUNTAIN! FOLLOW ME!" Yami opened his eyes and ran his fingers across the sheath, listening to the beautiful song the sword was singing.
He slowly stood up and looked at his scarf, he rubbed the torn part and sighed. He needed to buy a sewing kit too. He hugged his sword and descended the mountain with the rest as Inosuke shouted "FIGHT ME!" Yami ignored him and they followed the crow.
They split with the kids, who went home by themselves after getting a pouch of Wisteria from the crow. The group of 4, not counting Nezuko, continued following the crow.
They finally came to a building with a Wisteria family crest on it, an old lady appeared and said "Oh! Are you all demon slayers? Come in!" The group walked inside and the Old lady gave them a chance of clothes and a meal.
The group was eating and Inosuke reached for Yami's food. Yami flicked his hand away with his chopsticks and took a fish from Inosuke's plate before stuffing it in his mouth. Inosuke was stunned and said "Why you!" Yami blocked all his hands with the chopsticks as Tanjiro said "That's enough!" Inosuke punched Zenitsu and said "Shut up!"
After they finished eating
The doctor came to check up on them, but they were all fine since Yami had the Healing potions on hand. Yami gave one to the ground and Tanjiro translated his silence for the doctor to understand "He said 'This is the healing potion my father made. It heals anything except death. Hopefully this can help you.'" The doctor said "Amazing! I've never seen anything like it! Thank you!"
Yami nodded and Tanjiro said "Your welcome!" Zenitsu shouted "HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT?!?!" the doctor left and they were brought to the beds. Yami went into a bed and laid his back pack on the side, before hugging his sword and laying on his side. The rest got into bed and started talking.
Zenitsu said "Hey, Tanjiro... Why are you travelling with a demon?" Tanjiro got up and smiled "You knew this whole time, and you protect it. Thank you Zenitsu, you really are a kind person." the box opened and Nezuko rolled out.
Zenitsu started freaking out, shouting "YOU'VE BEEN TRAVELING WITH A CUTIE THIS ENTIRE TIME! I CAN'T BELIVE THIS! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Yami and Inosuke were already asleep as Zenitsu and Tanjiro ran around the room and Nezuko watched with a silly look on her face.
The next morning
Yami was outside with the clothes the old lady gave him and his scarf. It was the crack of dawn and he was slashing his sword in the air, practicing as he does every morning. Inosuke came outside and yawned before saying "What are you doing?" Yami looked and him and blinked before continuing to practice.
Inosuke got angry and shouted "WHAT ARE YOU IGNORING ME FOR?! YOU WANT TO DIE?!" Yami ignored him and continued.
A few days later
A crow back by and shouted "NORTH, NORTHEAST! YOUR NEXT MISSION IS NORTH NORTHEAST AT MOUNT NATAGUMO! GO THERE IMMEDIATELY!" The group got up and bid the old lady farewell as they followed the crow to their next mission, somehow forming a team.
They traveled for the entire day towards the Mountain and by nightfall they were right outside of it. Zenitsu collapsed saying "WAIT! I'M NERVOUS! I'M AFRAID OF DEATH!" Yami slapped him and threw him on his shoulder as he said "The mountain... It's song is sad."
Inosuke pointed at Yami and shouted "YOU CAN SPEAK?! THIS WHOLE TIME?!" Tanjiro snapped his head to the mountain and said "What is that smell?!" before running off, Yami followed him and Inosuke chased after the two shouting "WAIT! SAY SOMETHING ELSE!"
They came to a Demon Slayer, who was dragged back into the forest, shouting in fear. Yami looked at the boy and frowned before handing Zenitsu to Inosuke and running into the forest as Inosuke threw Zenitsu behind him and chased after him, shouting "WAIT FOR ME!" Tanjiro followed them saying "Wait it's dangerous!"
Zenitsu shouted "DON'T LEAVE ME BEHIND!"
The three went into the forest and met up with a Demon Slayer, who said that they all started killing each other when they got here. They were interrupted by the Demon Slayers coming after them, Yami moved and his eyes hardened as he slashed out "Oni Style: 5th Form- March of Death."
He 'danced' through the group of Demon Slayers and severed the arms of the dead ones while taking their swords from all of them. Tanjiro said "Yami! What did you do!?" Yami held all the swords and collected the sheaths as he said "I only cut the dead ones' arms off. They're being controlled with thread, even as corpses they will attack. Without swords or arms, they're harmless."
Tanjiro said "But!" Yami added "They're dead. They don't need arms." as he sheathed all the swords and put them in his backpack. He sliced the threads and tied up the Demon Slayers with a rope before saying "You. Bring these guys out of here. They'll just get in the way."
The Demon slayer pointed at himself and Yami nodded, Tanjiro was conflicted but Inosuke said "He's right. They're dead anyway, it's better they don't have arms, rather than they were eaten by demons." Tanjiro nodded and said "Alright."
The Demon slayer dragged the group and their arms out of the forest and the trio ran through the forest towards the Demon that Inosuke found. They came across a girl and Yami jumped into the air, slashing other her head and cutting all the threads. He knocked her out and took the sword from her and all the dead Demon Slayers.
Inosuke said "Why are you taking all of their swords?" Yami nodded and Tanjiro translated "He said 'Because they don't deserve to be treated this way and the Demon Slayers are harmless without them!'" Inosuke shouted "THAT'S THE DUMBEST THINGS I'VE EVER HEARD!"
Yami ignored him and took the swords, putting them in his backpack before the group continued along, Inosuke ran forward and shouted "THIS ONE'S MINE!" as he jumped and slashed at a headless corpse with giant scythe claws for hands.
Inosuke clashed with it saying "It's got no weak spots!" Tanjiro crouched and said "Inosuke get it's arms! Yami, cut it in half! Use me as a boost!" Inosuke ran up and jumped off Tanjiro, slashing both swords up and slicing it's arms off.
Yami jumped off Tanjiro and held his sword up high as Tanjiro spun on the ground and sliced it's legs off. Yami slashed down and cut the monster directly in half. All three of them landed on the ground and the monster's halves fell down.
Inosuke grabbed Tanjiro and threw him into the air, Yami jumped up and landed on Tanjiro's back, pushing Tanjiro towards the demon with his legs. Tanjiro flew through the air and severed the Demon's head with the 5th Form of Water Style, landing on the ground behind her.
Her head landed on the ground and she teared up, remembering her human life. She said "A member of the 12 Kizuki is here... Be careful..." before disappearing into ashes.
Yami landed on the ground next to Inosuke and sheathed his sword, nestling it on his hip as Inosuke wrapped his swords in cloth, saying "That wasn't too bad!" Yami nodded and they waited for Tanjiro to come back.
