1 "Chapter 1- Strange men"

"I am Klein Adrien, a freshman from xxx University, work experience? I have none, why do I want to work here? I need money to pay my parent's debts, and college tuition, please accept me I am desperately in need of money," I begged in front of the manager, I can't pay the debt my parents left me, they both died in a car accident while I was in the house celebrating my graduation alone, am I glad that my parents are dead? to be honest yes, why would I cry over the people who broke me?

"you are accepted, with a face like yours, you might attract some more customers, go work in the cashier, you may start working tomorrow every 8 pm, you may go," I stared at him gratefully. I gulped as I stood from the floor, "Thank you very much," I bowed as I took my bag and head out of the room,

as I shouldered my bag, my aunt Laurice looked at me in the eyes. "I told you I'll lend you some money instead, why are you so stubborn?" she crossed her arms with her eyes looking at me up and down, she began shedding tears as she looked at me in the eye. "I wish I could help you and your family," she walks towards me for an embrace, she embraced me warmly however I can only feel empty inside. "do you... pity me?..." I asked,

"Of course I do!" she looked at me while walking a few steps backward. "then if you pity me... do they pity me also?..." she froze, she couldn't utter a word after I questioned her, "why can't you answer? because you know they don't pity me at all?... stop wasting my time, I'll go home now" I walked away from her without any feelings, I glanced at her looking down at the floor with her eyes widened,

"aren't you coming home?... Auntie?" she just stared at the floor with her eyes still widened. "I have some errands, go home early," she couldn't look at me in the eyes. "don't drink nor gamble okay? I'll cook us dinner," I walked away from her.

Laurice kneeled as she starts crying, 'why is he like this, what have you done to yourself Klein,' she grabbed her hair as she starts crying in stress, 'what am I gonna do,' she trembled, as someone lends her a napkin. "why are you crying near in my friend's office? are you somehow a friend of his?" she raised her head to see his face. "I'm sorry if I'm making a fuss," she stood from where she kneeled and patted her suit.

"is the guy who walked out... is somehow your son?" he asked curiously. "why are you getting in my personal life now?" she asked while wiping her tears, she tried to act stable as she combed her hair with her hand. "it's not your son... am I right? you look like your 30+ years old," he tilted his head to see her face, "stop minding my business, goodbye," she walked away elegantly from him.

"Laurice.... hmm... seems like you can't remember me well," the man smiled as he opened the office door.
