[2] Episode 1 (2/2)

(Third Person POV)

The next morning as Beck woke up he could swear he heard Lady Whistledown's voice go through his head, he was sighing in his heart since he knew that it wasn't real, or was it? Ignoring it he got ready for the day but when he made a suit appear this time he made sure that it was super light, there was no way he was wearing a bulky suit all day.

Today his brother was to visit the girl he met last night to show his intentions towards her, though Beck saw that she had gotten some attention from other's so it might be a challenge. Smiling to himself he took knew that his brother had the advantage in looks but he hoped that feelings would bring them together, last night before bed he gave them all their clothes.

While not the right time since his brother was in the process of looking for a wife he planned to tell his family about his power before his brother was married. He wasn't going to drag it out so they should know by the time episode two was starting or a little before maybe after the next dance since the talk of the town would be Simon and Daphne.

Beck was deciding to either go Box with Simon since he was invited last night or go visit Eloise, he couldn't really do anything with her but with a chaperone around they could meet. Though she wasn't looking for a husband this season it wasn't a problem for them to be friends, the only reason for the chaperone was so her honor wasn't tarnished.

It was taking so getting use to but Beck was slowly getting in the mindset of the people of this time, he didn't want people to look at her badly either but he still wanted to meet her. Though he couldn't marry her outright at this moment it would still help if he could make friends with her before she decided to marry.

Even if he was to win her heart before this season ended he couldn't marry her until next, that was like a rule or something sitting out one season made it where you had to wait till the next. Beck was going to win her heart and prove to her that she can accomplish her dreams, he didn't just want a housewife but a woman who challenged him.

Shaking his head from the thoughts he went out his room and down to the dining room, his maid followed from behind when he was in the house except his room she was by his side. As he made it there he heard his mother speaking to his brother while his dad watched, "You need to show her that she is a treasure, though the Queen said Daphne Bridgerton was the Diamond of the season only you can make your wife feel as if she is one."

Ryder nodded along, "I know mother although she is the one who caught me eye the most I want what you and father have so I won't choose so easily."

"Good." was all their father said.

Beck took his seat and took a bite of his food but choked when he heard his mothers words, "And you Beck I saw you dance with that other Bridgerton girl, you know she isn't trying this season right?," When he caught his breath he nodded at her, "Good, become friends and all but do nothing to ruin that girls reputation understand? Though I will admit you two did look good together."

Beck blushed hearing her words before clearing his throat, "Don't worry I will do nothing of the sort to ruin her. As for being friends I will try, I will admit the girl catches my eye and from our talks last night she is very interesting but at the moment she is avoiding marriage."

His mom nodded while his dad looked over at him, "I don't know if you plan to visit her today but conduct yourself as you should." was all he said before adding more food to his wife's plate. Ryder and Beck were drowning in sweetness seeing their act, the two still acted as though they were newly weds even if it had been twenty years.

"Well I should be off, no doubt others will be going to see her too." Ryder said before walking to Beck so he could fix his bowtie, rolling his eyes he did it before Ryder took off.

(First Person POV Beck)

"I should go too, I am going to stop by and see Eloise before heading to box with Simon his friend Will is going to be training us." This was true since I wanted to see if it varied different from what I learned in my past, I still had the memories of learning Boxing, Judo, and Taekwondo so I wanted to see how I faired.

My parents ignored me though still whispering to each other, the maids to the sides were blushing at them, ignoring it I walked away and straight to my carriage out front. "To the Bridgerton house first." the coachman nodded before closing my door for me.

The ride was ten minutes and when I got there it still had carriages from some men, it seemed that Anthony hasn't driven them away just yet, though some were leaving. Going inside I announced my intentions and was lead to the drawing room where they were at the moment, "Becket Reevee here for Eloise Bridgerton." I was announced into the room making some look over.

I saw the shocked expression of Eloise as I walked inside, unlike others I didn't bring her flowers to show my intentions they would go the same as the rest, eventually in the trash. Walking towards her he bows politely and smiles to her mother who nods at them, her brother Anthony looks over with a frown but since he knew she wasn't ready to marry he brushed it off.

"We meet again Miss Bridgerton, I know I didn't bring flowers but I did bring this," I reached into my coat pulling out a book that was wrapped, it was 'The Scarlet Letter' but it was altered to fit with Europe instead of America, "I hope you like it, this is something I have been working on." I admitted shamelessly.

She was still a little stunned hearing that I came to see her but broke out of it seeing the package in my hand, though there was a lot of people in the room they were ignored. Not that either of us minded everyone knew that Eloise was avoiding marriage so they didn't think that I was serious about courting her at the moment.

Eloise looked at me then finally opened the package before seeing the book, it didn't have a title so she flipped through it, "Who wrote this there is no author?" she asked looking back at me.

"Well I figured that there was no one else around who could give me an honest input on it so I brought it to you. This is my own book that I wrote called 'The Scarlet Letter' if you don't mind can you read it for me and give me notes?" I asked while taking a seat next to her, well with one cushion in between us can't be to close to each other.

She looked at book in her hands then me smiling slightly, "Trying to achieve your goal by playing on what I enjoy now?" her eye brow was raised while watching me.

I chuckled a little, "I will admit you caught my interest but like you I have no plans to marry any time soon, but unlike the other girls you speak your mind rather than try to gain a husband. You don't have to read it though I can take it back." I said while putting out my hand for her to give it back, she was skeptical and knew I liked her but I didn't want her to only see me as someone who only wanted to marry her, hence my book idea.

She pulled the book back giving me a slight smile, "No I will read this and give you my honest opinion of it but let me tell you now that I don't want to marry, try as you may we will never be. I will get my wish of accomplishing my dream without marrying."

I grinned, "Good to know but that doesn't stop us from being friends does it?"

She thought it over, by this point the room was quite with no one left even Anthony left seeing that he had driven away all the parasites from his sister. Their mom though mad was looking at the interaction between me and Eloise but I didn't mind instead my smile grew, she just straight rejected me but I was happy about it.

To me Eloise was more than just some trophy to gain and if she fell for me just because of a couple of things then she wouldn't be the woman I thought she was. Plus she was only seventeen so there was no way that I was going to even attempt to marry her, at eighteen it would be fine but for now I really was looking for friendship.

It would be nice if things went beyond that but for the moment I really was just trying to be friends with her, rushing into everything would be counter productive at this time. Coming out of my thoughts I looked back to Eloise who was also coming out of her own thoughts, "I don't see why not, plus we would need to be if you want my honest feedback."

"Great. Well it has been nice talking to you and while I would love to continue this I have other affairs to attend to, hopefully though I will seen you soon though." I said while standing she joined me and even walked with me out the drawing room.

"Wow we establish a friendship and not even two seconds later you leave, shows how much you really want a friendship huh?" she said smirking a little.

Her maid was following us and I could feel her eyes jumping between the two of us, "Well that was a gamble on my part really, who knew if you would accept and I would need to try persuading you with something else." I joked as we reached the door.

"Mhmm that is true. I will see you later then Beck hopefully with a good review of your book." She smiled which made me freeze seeing it, that smile plus her bright blue eyes made me want to stay and be with her more even if we ended up talking about nothing.

"*Sigh* My lady you are going to have to stop smiling or I would need to reevaluate my intentions towards you. Until we meet again Eloise." Since we were friends I could call her by her name instead of just Miss Bridgerton.

(Eloise POV)

Watching his back as he left I felt something in my chest and pushed it down, though he did come with a gift that would be unconventional to some I knew liked it. Something he wrote himself that he wanted me to judge, my writing was something I didn't even let others see because I thought that it wouldn't be taken well seeing as I am a woman.

Looking at his fading carriage though I figured that if things came down to it he wouldn't feel that way, I am sure if he was to read what I wrote then things would be different. This wasn't something I was willing to gamble on though, he was hiding something and I was sure of it so I didn't fully trust him but if he wants to be friends then that is fine.

Sighing I turned to go back inside there was nothing left to do but wait until this day was over, but we would have to see if my sister would get any other suitors coming around.

(Beck POV)

Inside the carriage I smiled to myself thinking about Eloise it was something that came just at the mention of her name, I hope that never changes. My coachman drove me to the more... let us say poorer side of town, even with the glass on the carriage I could smell the stench that was wafting through and it was horrible to say the least.

Shaking it off I got out and walked into the 'gym' where I saw Simon and Will boxing in the ring, smiling I went to take a seat on the bench and watched them. The moves they showed wasn't really clear boxing if anything it was street fighting with them moving around, the stances weren't the best either even with a look I could see the flaws.

Simon was the first to notice me but at the same time looking away made him get a punch to the face, laughing I almost fell off the bench seeing that, "You should pay more attention Simon, Will here won't pull his punches when he is training the Duke." I said walking towards the ring.

"Yes well what would his grace learn if I pulled my punches." Will said with a smile while climbing out and wiping his sweat off.

"True."

"I am right here you two," Simon said climbing down, "Good to see you again Beck I was hoping your brother would join us but it seems he is serious to actually marry this season."

"Yes well not all of us want to stay single, though I understand your reasons." I said back while shaking his hand. Though he hasn't told anyone the real reason he did tell all his friends he would never marry which is why it wasn't weird when I said this to him.

He nodded, "So is your mother making him choose someone that fits her standards?" he asked while wiping the sweat off of himself.

"No he gets to choose luckily, my parents would hate if they made their children get married to someone they didn't love." I said leaning back some.

"I am glad I am not a noble like you two, sure there is the advantages of money and power but hearing these conversations makes me want to stay far away." Will said as he shuddered, "Luckily I have found the perfect wife." he had a happy smile thinking of his wife Alice.

I had to admit that Alice was a wonderful woman, she was beautiful and at the same time she was outspoken she didn't hold herself back no matter who she was around. Though I was sure it would be different in front of the queen, she reminded me of Lady Danbury by the way she conducted herself.

"Yes well we all can't find an amazing woman such as you did." I said patting Will on the shoulder making him smile wider.

"Thanks Beck, are you next for some training?" He asked with a smile.

"Yes, enlighten Beck here since he thinks learning skill from others has already made him surpass you." Simon said with a small smile while getting his shirt back on.

"Bug off Simon." I said rolling my eyes with a playful shove before getting into the ring after Will. We started to slowly circle each other as we tested the other one out, it wasn't serious but some light jabs at each other until we started to get more into it.

Fully in the fight we used half our strength and while his boxing was unique it didn't hold up to me using Taekwondo and Judo to help, after awhile Will asked me to teach him. By the time me and Simon were leaving there Will was working on mastering the skill, he said he wanted to have it hand for his next boxing match that was to come.

Simon and I split up from there we both wanted to bath before we met up at the club later, it was where all upper class men went to talk women and drink while gambling. The place was suppose to be classy but from the things conducted inside it wasn't really more like it was just a high class men's club, I shook my head at the thought.

When I got back home Ryder was already there and I thought at this moment it was time to introduce them to some things of modern day. Only cause I didn't think that the secret would be held on for for long, who knew how much of the true story I would change so there was no way I was taking chances.

"Hello family," I said plopping down on an empty seat as a maid rushed over to pour me some tea before going back to what she was doing, "How was your outing brother."

"The girl is nice but she isn't ready yet, there were three others who also are after her affection so I must try harder." he said on a sigh.

"Yes well let us hope you can win her over, can everyone else leave I need to have a private conversation with my family." I told everyone in the room, my family looked at me with a raised brow but when my father nodded they all left the room.

"What is it son that is so important that you made everyone leave." My mother said putting down the paper that Lady Whistledown sent out after this mornings activities.

Well this is going to be hard I should have showered first to have time to think of what I am going to say but I guess now is a better time to speak then ever. "Well there are some things I need to explain to you all, firstly the clothes we wear didn't come from a man who helped me instead it is drawn from a unique magic I have."

Seeing their faces contort to something that resembled them thinking I was crazy I could do nothing but pull something out of thin air, in my had was a tablet that I just got. The all gasped in shock so I went on to tell them how it worked showing them the features of it, though there was working internet I couldn't connect with anyone from my life or future.

I pulled out three more things namely a phone, TV and refrigerator to show them more, though the refrigerator would be made in twenty more years if this went by my worlds time. They were excited seeing everything my mom loved the camera on the phone taking selfie's of her and my father, she loved seeing them being so life like.

(alright some might hate this but honestly tell me if you went back to this time you wouldn't want the same, you would really live without any of this? Liars to the ones who say yes.)

"Son how did you get this magic?" My father asked when he got away from my mom since she was satisfied with the pictures.

Scratching my head I didn't want to tell them about the whole dying thing so I lied again, "It was something that happened on one of my journey's I fell in a cave and when I woke up I was like this. All this stuff is just listed for me and I know how to use them. I was hoping with this we can upgrade the house some along with having better stuff then others."

"Really what else can we do." My mother asked looking at me with shining eyes.

Smiling I told them about everything that we could use for he house along with taking them to my room and showing them what I had already set up. When my mother learned about the bathroom and plumbing system she demanded that I do it for theirs along with everything else.

We each had phones now so we could stay in touch but my father decided that when anyone asked about them just say it was a fancy mirror, he didn't fully trust the house maids. We all agreed and we talked about it saying we would only tell those that me or my brother married, though I planned to tell Eloise the moment I knew she fell for me.

Though I might sooner giving her a cell phone as a sign of trust so that we could talk when we weren't near each other, and with it she could also learn more than she ever wanted. Since they had access to internet it was easy to learn things but I was going to start her off with one that only held Texting and Calling, the rest later if she kept the secret.

After my parents learned everything we set up different stuff in the house, the maids besides my moms personal one was banned from rooms. They now were a modern day one plus kitchen inside of them so they were better than anything anyone had seen.

The reason her personal maid got to know was because she was still in charge of helping my mother in her daily life, along with the steward of my father so things were convenient. They both got a phone but it only had the numbers of my mother and father so they could get in touch with them, they were both amazed at the products.

Seeing that it was almost time to meet Simon, me and Ryder took off to the club along the way he asked me the features of everything and got to learn it all. Though no shows or anything were on it, it did have games so there was something for him to do there, of course they all had free in-app purchase's.

Arriving at the club he put the phone away and we both walked inside, though I could see that the entire time he wanted to whip out his phone and explore it more. He held himself back though to spend time with his friends, hopefully if they found a solution one day he could even give them one so that they could get in touch easier.

I could only shake my head seeing the giddy face of my brother, technology really was a wonderous thing like everyone from 2021 he also couldn't resist the allure of it. Maybe I should get him one that showed Porn? Maybe... or not, who knows.

The Next Day...

We did the usual thing a the club last night so it wasn't that interesting, but Anthony, Simon, and Ryder had a heavy debate about marriage. I kept my mouth shut if I declared that I was going to marry Eloise and didn't need to talk about these things I was sure Anthony would kill me so I held my tongue.

Tonight was the Vauxhall gather, couldn't well say it was a ball seeing as it wasn't really explained if it was or not but since there was dancing and fun it might as well be. The family was well dressed again, we were slowly being known as the family that wore interesting things they weren't seen as bad but something some men and women wanted.

Lady Whistledown had talked about us and our dressing complementing us making more people want it but seeing as they couldn't then it was still weird for others. I was hoping like the Lady Danbury's ball Eloise would be there, she wasn't shown to be there or not in the show so there was no telling if she was there or not.

Tonight while I looked good my clothes were a little lazy with my collar being a little messy and while my tie was tied it was loose so it gave me a messy but sexy look. I enjoyed wearing the suits but after a while it did start to get kind of annoying so I decided to change it up some, my mom allowed it since I looked handsome in her words.

I knew my dad was a simp the moment he copied, well the best he could making my mother swoon and his sons laugh, this was the best family I could ask for. We were all currently crossing the water to be at Vauxhall, the place was lit with lights and you could see people in groups talking either on the shore or near the reception.

When we made it there I went away from my family quickly while they all put away their phones, they had taken to playing games or reading something on it. This was a plus for them mainly cause other than gossiping or work there wasn't a whole lot to do in this time period, even gambling got old.

Shaking my head I looked around for Eloise, she might not be here but until I looked around I wouldn't know for a fact, I did run into Simon who was crowded at the moment. There was also Daphne who was walking with her mother, she was still the Diamond but people had their doubts considering that her only suitor at the moment was... Nigel Berbrooke.

Honestly I haven't been paying much attention to the canon but seeing as nothing had changed between them then my influence in the world wasn't that big. Finally after the light show my eyes landed on the true Diamond, Eloise she was in a beautiful emerald green gown, at the moment she was with Penelope.

Like the show they were standing to the side but this time Eloise brother was there, Colin, he was smiling with them but still Cressida came over to get his name on her dance card. I stood and watched as he rejected her and took Penelope off making Eloise laugh, I was slowly walking towards them and managed to catch her saying something rude to my Diamond, "What are you laughing about? With your looks do you think anyone would dance with you? Becket Reevee was being nice to dance with you last time."

I smiled hearing that and stood a little away from them, Eloise was looking right at me but I just stood there I had no doubt in my mind that she would stand up for herself. "Why would I care what he thinks, unlike you I don't need a man to define and dictate my life. Go along and find someone else to bother." Eloise said looking away from me to glare at her.

"That's what all ugly girls say." Cressida said with a smirk.

Walking over I stood next to Eloise, "Miss. Bridgerton you have been hiding from me tonight. It took me more than an hour to find you but now that I have can I get a dance?" I said while sending a fleeting look to the pack of girls.

Eloise looked at me and said something that made me smile wider, "Dance with one of these girls if you are so inclined, they seem to need the company of a man. As for my I think I will see what others are doing." she turned on her heel walking away.

I saw that they were waiting for me expectantly but I ignored them and followed her, as if I would choose any of them she was my girl no way would I dance with anyone else. Noticing my following her Eloise spoke but didn't stop, "What you don't want to dance all of a sudden?"

"Why would I dance with anyone other than you?" I smiled lightly which she didn't see but she also didn't speak again, "Have you started my book yet?" I asked trying to gain her attention.

"...it is an interesting read." she said slowing a little so she could speak softer, considering the content of the book though it was wise, "Why on earth would you write something like this though it is soo... so scandalous." she said looking at me from the side of her eye.

I saw at the moment Daphne and Simon walking back from the gardens with her hanging on his arm, looks like they are still following their plans with nothing getting in their way. "Well it was just my first try.... honestly I didn't think it over before giving it to you but when you are done I have another book for you." I told her as we both stood there watching them go to dance.

"Why me?" she asked looking confused, there was no doubt the other girls words were getting to her at this moment.

"Ha, don't let them get in your head I told you already the true Diamond in my eyes is you and that won't change. Since you don't want to dance then I will just accompany you until the night is over, if that is alright?" I said looking over at her.

She looked back and the lights shining in her eyes reflecting from the the candle lamps made the blue in them stand out more and she just looked so beautiful at that moment. Hell what am I saying it was any moment to be honest. The world seemed to stop as we stared at each other, we didn't see that her mother, Lady Danbury and my mother were all off not to far away watching us.

Yes Simon and Daphne were something that everyone was attracted to but it didn't stop them from looking at the potential of others. "That is fine but please stay some feet away, no need for others to think I actually enjoy your company." she said turning quickly to look back at the dance floor.

"HAHA!" I laughed out hearing her words but covered my mouth looking away when some people looked over at me. I also missed the glint in the eyes of her mothers and mine as they looked at each other, though their thoughts were something akin to mine so why would I worry.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

(Eloise POV)

I rolled my eyes hearing the laugh coming from next to me and watched Penelope dance with my brother she had a wide smile on her face, maybe I should dance with him? Shaking my head I brushed those thoughts away, he was just speaking sweet words when he finally ask for my hand and I reject he would ignore me then.

At the moment he was a friend and I did enjoy his book even if it was clouded in vague words that I didn't fully understand, but I did enjoy the characters of the novel though. Looking at the back of the man who was courting me and ignoring every other woman a small smile slipped, turning back to the dance floor I didn't want him to see it though.

The rest of the night he was true to his word and stuck by my side even when some wanted him to dance with him he ignored them all and stayed with me. Humph he would have to try harder if he wanted to win my heart----- No that is wrong he doesn't have a chance and he should go after one of these other girls who want him.

When the night was over he only left after seeing me to my family, afterwards he greeted them all and left promising to show me something amazing soon. He left me intrigued about what it was, the shining in his eyes to me I would love it.

'Cause girls like you run 'round with guys like me

'Til sun down when I come through

I need a girl like you, yeah yeah

Girls like you love fun and, yeah, me too

What I want when I come through

I need a girl like you, yeah yeah
