The Bicycle Thief (Part 1)

Author's Note: I'm alive, please don't kill me, I have been procrastinating hard. And by I mean not doing shit. SO...

...

[Jay and Gloria's commentary]

They both sat at their couch, thinking of the correct answer to the question.

"What's the key to being a great dad?" - Jay

He sighs, "Oh, that's a tough one."

...

[Cam and Mitch's commentary]

Cam and Mitch both sit at their own respective chairs. Cam starts his perfect gateway to becoming a great father. "Giving them freedom to be whatever they want to be."

"Right, exactly-" Before Mitchell could fully intervene with Cam's thoughts, he proceeds to list out his freeing occupations.

"Whether that's a painter, a poet, a pilot, a president-" - Cam

"And for us, we're gonna-" - Mitch

"-of a company or of a country." - Cam

Mitch understandably miffed by Cam's continuance, stares at him and recovers his thought; changing it to what Cam didn't have in that sentence. "Patience."

...

[Phil's commentary]

"Well, be their buddy." - Phil

Claire pops her head from the corner and questions Phil of his choice. "That's you answer?"

He stumbles about his words at the sudden questioning. "And stay in school."

"No." - Claire

"And don't do drugs." - Phil

"No." Claire shakes her head in the background as Phil raises his head towards her direction.

"Just tell me the answer." - Phil

Fed up by the wrong answers, Claire scoffs and walks off to the kitchen.

...

[Jay's commentary]

He raises his finger to answer the inquiry before pausing to rethink it.

"Still thinking." - Jay

...

The gym was filled with aerobics moms, and body builders. Most were gaining weight, while some of the populace was getting ready for the eventual summer beach body. Thirsting over bicycle rides and thoughts of swooning crowds in their bikini's. Felix was utterly disappointed with the lack of modesty some people had. This was why he hated the beach; the sand worms were the actual reason, the bikini's were another.

He worked core mostly, with pushups, sit-ups, crunches and flexibility. Balance was what he needed, and calisthenics are not as easy as one might think. It required a suitable amount of core strength, flexibility and of course balance. Taking about 1 hour as such, he slowly lowered himself for a break.

"You having fun there, Mister Fantastic?" - Cecilia

She chuckles over and banters with him, fresh off of her morning yoga class, and she still looks amazing.

"Yeah, I'm having a blast." Felix says sarcastically, wanting this break to last a few minutes more, before he starts again. He was building the little fit known as a sleeper build in the known 21st century future. Not for show, for convenience, and he thought it was a blast.

Cecilia nodded and looks at her boyfriend. He had seemed attractive before, but with sweat, and a slightly toned body...

"Woah, there girl... You better stop your staring before I call the cops on you." Sweat dripping on his face, he wipes it off and flicks it to Cecilia. She jumps up in a mix of disgust and horror.

"Ew! Felix Percival Dunphy, don't you dare! I'm hitting the showers." Cecilia storms off to the women's showers, wondering how she fell in love with this man.

He grins and shouts, "I love you!" Completely ignoring his previous actions. Damn, good day to work out; sunny, no clouds, and the gym was electric. It felt like a million bucks working out in these conditions. Not everything lasts forever, for a few beats Felix didn't move an inch. Leaping up to his feet, bouncing around, he headed for the showers agreeing with the notion to call it quits for the day.

...

A trio consisting of Phil, Claire and Luke bike along the road, with Claire leading far ahead the two. A woman jogging with athletic attire, approaches their way, noticing a familiar face within the trio.

"Hi, Claire." Desiree, the woman with as Captain Holt would say it, "heavy breasts", greeted Claire with a slightly exhausted, but friendly manner. She begrudgingly side eyes Desiree, with a judging glare that most would say, is just her normal stare, replying with a short greeting.

"Hey." - Claire

With Desiree stopping for a mid-run conversation, the three especially Claire, stop their pedaling to face Desiree.

"Um... This is my husband, Phil. And that's my son Luke, right there. This is..." - Claire

Claire might've forgotten the woman's name, as she trails on until Desiree catches and says her name.

"Desiree, right. Sorry. Desiree just moved in down the block." - Claire

"Fun. Where?" Phil, stared at her completely enamored, or lost in a pretty face.

"314." - Desiree

Phil recognizes the immediate house in question. "The two-bedroom cottage with the indoor/outdoor family room."

Bewildered Desiree squints and puzzled with Phil's memorization of the house.

"Bet you're loving the steam shower." - Phil

Claire admonishes Phil before he says something that might put him in an encounter with the police.

"I'm a real-estate mogul. What? No, I am a real estate agent. We caravanned that house. Great, um... Deck." - Phil

"I'm just there till my divorce is final." - Desiree

"Now, who is coconuts enough to divorce you?" - Phil

"We gotta go, but we'll see you around." - Claire

"We'll have to have you over sometime." - Phil

Desiree eyes Phil and slightly nudges her hand on the bike handles. "I'd love it."

"All right." - Phil

Desiree says her goodbye, waves for a millisecond, turns and jogs off.

"She's awesome." Phil looking at Claire for affirmation.

"No, we are never having her over. I heard she already slept with two dads from the school." With the ever gossiping grip Claire has on the school, clearly sensing the presence of what she deems as a threat, warns Phil of Desiree.

"What? That's horrible." Phil hesitatingly agrees while looking back at Desiree's figure.

"Dad, watch out!" Luke riding his epic Little Bo Peep bike with epic strands of black tape crossing out the picture at the front, rides in the way of the entranced Philip.

"Watch it buddy." - Phil

Luke comments on Phil's bike riding, while Phil turns to Claire to remind her that Luke's bike takes a resemblance of a girl's bike.

"We'll add more black tape." Claire adhering to the rule, "If it ain't broke, don't fix the damn thing."

...

[Phil and Claire's commentary.]

"My son has been riding his sister's old bike." - Phil

Claire interjecting, "Until he's responsible enough to take care of his own bike. Look, he spilled soda on my computer. He ruined our digital camera taking pictures of himself underwater."

Phil physically deflates and sighs, dejection written all over. "It's a girl's bike. I'm all for teaching him a lesson, but I worry about the ridicule he might get from some loudmouth bully."

...

"Hey, nice bike, Sally." Jay revving up his engine strolls by cranking up some tunes, roof fully open.

"Dad!" - Claire

"Come on. He looks like Little Bo Peep on that thing." - Jay

"Actually, not for long. He's getting a new bike this afternoon." - Phil

"I am?" - Luke

Claire piecing out the puzzle looked back to Phil, "He is?"

...

[Phil's commentary]

"Sometimes a man's gotta put his foot down and do what a man's gotta do. And if the lady don't like it... Honey?" Phil leaning uncomfortably close to the camera staring straight into the viewer's soul. In that last instant he looked back to see if Claire was in the house.

"That's too damn bad." - Phil

Author's Note: I should really use the Author's Thought feature instead of this... Decided to keep it a shorter chapter... I decided to heed one of my reviews and focus a ton of my attention on Felix and his interactions, that way it's not just a show... It's also the life of Felix within it... Thank you for reading, sorry for the tardiness... Don't know when the next chapter would be.
