67 Just an Ordinary Day

Lin Feng was woken by the greetings of the sun's rays. Although he woke up, as part of his daily ritual, he didn't move an inch away from where he lay. Nor did he flit his eyes open.

He just lay there, taking in the scenery with everything but what was created for that purpose.

His skin felt the embrace of soil and the crawling of insects, his ears "observed" the crashing of waves against rocks, the rustling of leaves and the vague call of magical beasts. His nose picked up salt and many other things. And as for his tongue, it tasted bitter.

"Ugh!"

Feng groaned, and he got up from his position steadily. The scenery he painted in his mind was precisely what he saw at the moment. His suspicions were confirmed, he was on an island. Just like he calculated.

"Sigh, why can't I get a single moment of rest, always one problem to another! Goddammit, I'm so frustrated, I wanna go home!"

His yell went ignored though, there was no strong enough lifeform on this island that could respond to him; these thoughts did not last very long though.

With Feng's ever so wandering eyes, he spotted the only person he could converse with lying on the ground in unconsciousness. This person was also the only one he barely talked to.

"Sigh, !?:?!? (trying to say Kami) must you do this!"

Lying on the floor was the cold as frost mysterious beauty, May. Feng sighed for what seemed like the thousandth time and walked off. He reached out to a tattoo on his hand before finally noticing the Demon clothes were gone.

Feng peered into the demon mark space and saw Damon sprawled across a couch that seemed to be transformed from the throne that was in there earlier. He looked like a dead dog, abandoned by his master on the road.

'Eh, Damon, why do you look like that?'

[Gah! My energy got drained by pulling off those damned clothes from your fucking arse!]

'If you don't mind me asking, why was your energy drained by doing that?'

Damon wanted to facepalm himself but couldn't bring his body to move.

[Dear God, aren't you meant to be some kind of genius, why do I feel like you're more like an idiot to me. It's because I'm still in a half corporeal form, I can't come out of the demon mark without consequences!]

'Oh, never mind then.'

With that, Feng removed his mind from the demon mark. He looked at his "clothing", just a fancy blue boxer with an elephant trunk on it. His manliness was so much that even FENG himself could not resist.

"Damn!" He whistled sharply, he just couldn't help but admire his own body, his toned muscles shone under the bright sun of the Fantasy Universe.

The lightning runes that ran up his arm and chest still looked new, as though they were carved just yesterday.

The carving of runes on his body had to be the smartest thing he had thought of and done. It enabled him to temper his body using lightning strikes, through lightning attraction runes. Furthermore, he had also merged mana storage runes with the original runes, this allowed him to temper his body while storing about 30% out of 100% of the lightning mana. Not only that, if his other abilities were restricted, he could unleash a great amount of power using his body.

Feng pulled out a tropical-styled shirt and wore it over his torso. Once the shirt was properly in place, he wore a brown pair of shorts. On his head, he also wore a conical bamboo hat that made him feel a little cool under the glaring sunlight.

Feng hummed a bit and walked over to the closest palm tree near him, the coconuts on this one wasn't big enough so he let it go. After a minute of searching, he found the perfect-sized coconut.

"Aha!"

As he exclaimed, he used an absolutely normal straw to pierce the coconut.

"Hehe, skillz!"

Due to May's presence and his own hunger, Feng decided to go out to hunt for ingredients. And he encountered quite a few, actually; White moon hares, Golden brain monkeys, Lake turtles, Bristly bears and so on. He could go on all day.

He went back to the beach shore with all the game and lay them on a bunch of palm rafters that he grabbed in the way. He places a hand within the space crystal and brought out some firewood that he kept for situations like that.

Feng outstretched his hand a little and fired a small spark of lightning onto the laid out firewood.

"Crackle!"

The flame crackled fiercely, and there was only one reason. The size was too massive, what kind of pot or pan was he trying to use?

"Whoosh!"

And as if a giant mace came down from the heavens, the wind swirled rapidly. "Hmm who or what thinks they can compare with my Super-duper Crazy Forest wok!". (Ad: Buy the Super-duper crazy forest wok, only 100,000 gold coins. It is a specially designed instrument that can be used for cooking, bashing and many more! Most importantly, if you're bigger than the Super0duper wok, seek a doctor for treatment and use it as a back scratcher! Terms and conditions apply.)

He poured some oil over the surface of the wok and brought out a giant bag of par-boiled rice. He checked the scent of the bag to see if it had gone spoilt...

"Nope, still fresh!"

[Hehe, Feng, if you really wanna make your food better, try to use this technique]

'Huh? What technique?'

[Star cooking technique]

As those words appeared within his mind, a large amount of information flowed into his mind at the same time. Feng clutched his head in pain and clenched his teeth together in pain. While he groaned in pain, Damon kept passing snide remarks within his mind, the only one he managed to hear was; [One of my red packets]

That was also the end of the information transfer.

'Damon you bastard, inform me when you do that next time!'

[OK, I'm informing you now, there's corresponding information that's gonna pop up any moment now!]

No sooner than Damon said this, the information surged into his mind like a raging tide.

[Starry Sky Absorption Art]

Unlike the previous ones, this technique seemed to echo in his mind, ringing like alarm bells, shaking his seven orifices to the point of bursting.

He smashed his fist against the sandy floor of the island in frustration and pain. Godammit, why in the world are these power-ups so painful. Having an ancestor in your mind is not fun at all.

'Wah, what have I done to deserve this? I want a system!'

Once the information had been completely integrated within his brain, Feng used the remaining HP in his body to curse at Damon with all his might.

[Hehe, why curse me, sailor? You're the one that asked for all those skills when I first entered your Demon Mark. Besides, try out the technique first, see the results of all those years of plunderin- I mean exploring.]

Feng felt suspicious and stated out what seemed to be a fact.

'But there are no stars, it's daytime.'

[God damn humans, wait you're barely humans. Never mind, anyway, one of the greatest stars in the world shines its light on you!]

'Oh, I see. Lemme give it a go!'

Feng smiled knowingly and followed the steps listed out in the technique.

First Step: Kneel under a star or multiple stars.

Second Step: Outstretch arms sideways.

Third Step: Recite the corresponding incantation:

"From the depths of the cosmos, I call upon you,"

"From the shiny nebula, I call your name, Awe of the stars!"

"Great Aether God of the stars, allow me to draw upon the energies of thy children!"

Final Step: Use spiritual energy to absorb incoming star energies.

Feng did exactly as the technique instructed, but to no avail felt nothing. He waited for what seemed like minutes, but no mystical energy rushed through his body, he groaned, his body still affected by the residual pain of the last information transmission and then:

He saw them, golden and silver lights filled the sky, it was daytime but he could see a black backdrop behind these lights.

The energy rushed towards him like a raging torrent and a cold-hot sensation awoke him from the illusion. Lin Feng felt it; these "stars" had boundless energy.

At that very moment, Feng also considered getting rid of every single energy he learned in the past and cultivate star energy alone.

*Crackle!*

The sounds of snaps and crackles came from Feng's hands, one side was a slowly freezing ice that "crackled" and the other was a rapidly spreading flame that snapped and roared.

The flame was blue and the ice, black, and when they finally reached his head, the point of contact. Lin Feng's body felt a freezing-hot purgatorial pain and all the mana types in his body even increased exponentially.

His lightning mana, the main mana, reached Lord rank, making him an official Lord Rank cultivator. His druidic mana reached Peak stage Jade rank, the Primordial Chaos mana that he had no idea how to use, reached Gold Rank peak stage.

Even the Celestial Demon mana reached Lord Rank.

*Boom!*

There was actually nothing that sounded like that. It was just that, that was how the energies in his body erupted. Like a big boom, his Qi, All types of Mana, Path of the Primordial Asura technique, Celestial Demon Bloodline, and even the Druid bloodline were strengthened.

The feeling was painful, but also soo good. If the red packets were this good. He wouldn't mind becoming a masochist.

. . .

"Uhhhh, what is that smell?"

May groaned loudly and turned everywhere on the floor.

"Ah, you're awake."

Feng was just standing there like nothing ever happened that day. With his super-duper wok and his very cool amazing fried rice.
