2 The King and Empress

"With invincibilty, comes solitude..."

Martis, the Asura King was roaming the Land of Dawn, he sought an opponent capable of beating him but to no avail. He came across many opponents yet none could defeat him, he began to get bored when suddenly...

"HAHAHAHA...TREMBLE!"

A voice bellowed from afar, his vision dimmed and Martis was suddenly attacked from behind from what felt like 5 blades piercing him at once, "URGHHH... A cowardly tactic! Face me with honor!" he staggered and fell to one knee, he realized he had lost a lot of blood, knowing that the assassin could strike again, he began to move around attempting to dodge, suddenly his vision returned and saw a hellish creature, a face cloaked in shadow and a tail whose edge is as sharp as his Asura's teeth. He began to charge at the creature when two more beings approached, a blood orc and a strange alien creature, the orc tackled him and raised his axe preparing to finish Martis, when out of nowhere...

KRAKOOOOM

A huge bolt of lightning and the loud crack of thunder dropped in and the blood orc and the alien were on the ground, the shadow creature ran off to the bushes and used his tail to drag his companions with him. All Martis could hear was the cackling sounds of electricity

"Hey! Get up! Are you alright? Oh no, I need to take you to Estes right a way! Only he can sav-" The young mage was interrupted by the Asura grabbing her arm and putting his face at the same level as her's, staring into her eyes

"That won't be necessary, I am fine... I owe you my thanks and my life, Miss...?"

"Eudora, call me Eudora, and what is your name?"

"I am Asura King Martis... conquerer of Three thou- *cough* *cough*" Martis begins to weaken

"Rest now Martis, I can handle this, come lie down in this carriage, I was on way to the elf kingdom, there is an elf named Estes, he can help you"

"Thank you...Eudora..."

Martis fell asleep in the carriage back and was taken to the Elf Kingdom where upon reaching there, Eudora requested for Estes who rushed down to see Martis...

"Eudora this man... he is no ordinary man, this is an Asura! Where did you find him?"

"He was attacked by Helcurt, Balmond and Zhask, I barely saved him"

Estes began channeling the Moon Goddess power and started to heal Martis

"Incredible... his body, his power, this could be what we need to save the Land of Dawn!"

Then Martis stood up suddenly and began stretching, looking around, he saw the faces of surprised elves, Eudora and a man whose glow was similar to the moon

"You there! You must be King Estes! You have my gratitude, if ever you need something, the Asura Clan will be happy to help!" Martis claimed

"Ahh hello my friend, we have no need for titles here, just call me Estes, you have met Eudora? She saved you remember?"

"But of course, her eyes remind me of the Asura women back home, fiesty and full of power! Her powers of lightning are shocking as well Hahahaha! Now then please tell me about this world, It seems the Asura are also affected by the calamity..."

Martis and Eudora spend the night in the elf Kingdom and learned all about the war against the Abyssal Demons

"Martis... tell me about the Asura"

"We Asura are a race of warriors, we fight and challenge to enjoy life to the fullest. Our men are known to be mighty fighters and the women the greatest beauties. We have a trial of Three Thousand Worlds, those who can conquer 300, are called Ashura, none except me have conquered all 3000."

"Wow, amazing, so what brings you here to the Land of Dawn?"

"I am searching for an opponent strong enough to help me in my training! On my way here, I felt a strange power corrupting this land and soon I was attacked by... those things"

"Will you help us protect this land Martis?"

"Of course, this world is a great place, would be a shame if it was destroyed before I could conquer it! hahaha"

Looking at Martis' face made Eudora excited and her heart skip a beat. Martis decides to join Eudora on her quest to save the Land of Dawn and drive back the Abyss. On the next day, Martis rose and prepared the carriage for them to leave

"Many thanks again Estes, I will return the favor someday!" Martis shouts as he leaves in the carriage waving to Estes

"Martis, we are headed to Emerald Road, I have a friend there, he may know something on how to fight the Abyss"

"You know, we Asura are taught to express ourselves truthfully and confidently, that way we grow up strong and brave, completely fearless, Miss Eudora..."

Eudora turns around to see Martis' face mere inches away from hers and her lips close enough to touch his, she began to close her eyes and puck her lips,

"Miss Eudora, you would make an excellent Queen someday..."

*KRAKOOM*

Martis lies down fried and blackend by lightning

"One defeat.. means nothing.."
