5 A Man named Jack

Long ago, the Abyss tormented the world and almost brought about total dominion, where you went, havoc and destruction was there. Somewhere In a s small house, a young man prayed everyday to whatever God would listen, he prayed for strength and power to defeat the great evil and save his family.

This is the story of Jack Dawnstar.

*sigh* "No answer Huh? Im starting to think our Gods left us... Back to the training dummies again I guess... Avril, can you grab me my sword? The tall man beckoned

"Yes daddy!"

A little girl, who had just turned 11 slowly walked in dragging a sword behind her, Jack smiled and picked her and the sword up

"My goodness! Your'e growing too fast little peach! Hahahaha!" Jack said with a hearty grin

"Daddy are you gonna fight the wood people again? Thats mean!"

"Hahaha they are just dummies filled with straw, they dont mind"

A woman walked in on the two and sat next to Jack,

"Evelyn, I am going out for a bit, I'll be meeting with Roderick and the gang, take care of Avril ok?"

"Of course beloved, we will await your return as usual"

The two kissed and Jack stood up and left with the two ladies waving goodbye behind him,

Jack walked down a burning and blood-stain road knowing demons attacked here not too long ago, he offered a small prayer and moved on again. He kept traveling until he saw a familiar face waiting on a rock.

"Roderick! Its me, Jack! Where is everyone else?" He shouted as he sprinted to the man down the road

"Jack! About time you got here, we found a new member who would join us in our cause! Isnt that wonderful? The others will be here soon" the man said whilst fixing his device

The two sat down and began exchanging stories until 3 others approached them

"Ah you finally arrive! Jack, I believe some introductions are in order?" Roderick suggested

The group nodded to one another and formed a small circle

"Right you are Rod, I'll start... I am Jack Dawnstar, I'm a simple farmer living with my wife and kid... hmmm skills? I'm pretty skilled with a sword and shield if I do say so myself!" Jack claimed

"I'm next, the name's Roderick! I'm a futurist and an inventor! Roderick claimes while brandishing his invention, "I am super smart and love answering questions!"

Next stood a young elven woman, "I am Isabella von Lion, I am... no... I was from a small village that was destroyed by demons, I sought help from the elves from Woodlake and the Emerald Woodland but they sent me away, so here I am, seeking help from humans , I also have the strange power you human call Magic" She shows her hands and she creates fire, lightning, a small whirlwind, levitates small rocks and a blob of water. "I hope we can get along" She whispers

"I suppose I'm next" Stood the man in the back, "I'm Kvar Cur Light, I grew up in the slums of the city, I wont hide anything from you, I am a murderer, thief, assassin, you name it, anything as long as it can make quick cash, I don't like taking long, I like to get the job done as quick as possible then get out, you get me?" Kvar says while twirling a dagger in his hand "As for why I joined? Im sick of that life, I want to get back at the demons, and I guess you guys fit the bill" he said smirking

"Im new, so I guess I'll go last. I'm Alessa, I'm a hunter and warrior by trade, I lost... everything... to those blasted demons, I have to avenge my family, I heard y'all were forming a group that will drive back the demons, count me in" she says placing her battle-hammer on her shoulder

The group shook hands and proceed down to the next village to start their training, upon reaching the village Jack sat down and began to pray

"Gods, it seems you didnt abandon us after all, when I asked for power to fight the demons, I thought you would give me actual powers, but you gave them to me... as friends..., thank you"

Jack stood up and went off to train for the his upcoming battle
