Fantasy Realm

My name's Klein and today was supposed to be my first day as a waiter in a restaurant. It might not be a fancy job but hey, I desperately needed the money. Anyway, it was supposed to be my first day but it somehow became my last day too. Why? Apparently I happened to offend someone I wasn't supposed to and he got me fired. Luckily I am not worth much in his eyes, cause I doubt I'd still be alive if I was.

Anger? What right did I have to be angry and even if I was angry what could I possibly do about it as a mere commoner I. a kingdom where only the rich and powerful were respected. With no hope in getting a new job, I decided to squeeze out the last of my savings to purchase a virtual helmet for the new VR game Fantasy Realm which would be launched in two days time. From all the reports I heard so far, there would be a real money exchange system in the game l, meaning if I played well enough, I could make some money,.... hopefully.

Luckily enough for me, the academy was a month away, meaning I had a lot of time to get a headstart in the game, but, I had to pay my fees in two weeks which was about two thousand and fifty credits, an improbable amount for an orphaned teenager like me.

Nevertheless, nothing good came out of worrying so I buried the matter in my heart for the time being.

Two days passed in a flash and it was five minutes to the launch of Fantasy Realm, so I wore the helmet and logged in.
