33 Riding a Horse

Alex used the game helmet to enter the game, finding himself back at Shade's secret base. Inside the training room, the door was locked. After a few seconds, someone knocked on the door.

It was Shade.

"Hey, kiddo, something's happened, and I must leave this place. I've placed a few books above the table. You can use them to learn new skills after you're done with the Shadow Sight."

Shade appeared nervous. Alex couldn't help but notice. It didn't require an expert in reading facial expressions to realize that.

"Is there something wrong?" Alex asked.

Shade shook his head. "Nothing that you should worry about. Let the adults handle this. I don't know how long I will be away, so you don't need to wait for me here."
