As the undead hounds fell to the ground a hologram displaying rewards appeared before my eyes.

'Not the greatest loot...'

Scanning through the rewards, I muttered internally to myself.

However, I didn't bother complaining about what I couldn't change. These rewards were better than nothing.

Rattle... Rattle...

I turned my skeletal body, causing my bones to rattle and began searching for my next target.

Now that I have killed my first monster after reincarnating, all the nervousness disappeared. It was as if all the weight of uncertainty had been lifted off my bony shoulders.

'Give me another target...'

My eyes peered through the dimly lit corridors of the crypt, searching for any signs of movement or lurking creatures.

It didn't take long for me to spot a flicker of movement.

It was a group of four undead hounds racing towards me with unsettling speed.

If possible, I wanted to avoid such large groups since they could overwhelm me with their numbers, however, now there was no way of escape.

All I could do was clench my rusty sword tighter and prepare myself for the impending battle.

Tap... Tap...

The dimly lit corridors of the crypt seemed to close in around me as the group of four undead hounds charged forward with malevolent intent.

Their bony jaws gnashed, and their hollow eye sockets glowed with an eerie, otherworldly light.

As the undead hounds closed in, I maintained my composure. I had faced greater challenges before.

Swish...

With a swift motion, I lunged towards the closest hound.

My skeletal form moved with an agility that was barely anything. The hound lunged at me, its razor-sharp teeth snapping, but I sidestepped its attack with a grace born of countless encounters with ferocious foes.

Although at face value, with such agility I wouldn't be able to dodge such an attack, I predicted the hound's movements from years of experience battling countless creatures.

It was an instinct of some sort.

Swish...

Embracing the sudden influx of adrenaline, with a fluid motion, I swung my sword in a clever, calculated arc, aiming for the hound's exposed neck.

The monster didn't even know what happened before...

Pluck...

The blade connected, severing the hound's head from its body.

Critical Hit! [ - 15 HP ]

A burst of foul-smelling ichor sprayed from the stump, and the hound crumpled to the ground in a heap of bones and decay, however, it didn't bother me since I had no sense of smell.

One down, three to go.

The remaining three hounds circled me, their movements coordinated and predatory.

I knew that I couldn't let them overwhelm me, so I focused on isolating them one by one. I parried a lunging attack from the nearest hound and countered with a precise strike to its ribcage.

Critical Hit! [ - 12 HP ]

Luckily, the blow was considered a critical one and shattered its ribcage, scattering bones in all directions.

As the other two hounds closed in, I twisted and leaped out of harm's way, landing gracefully a few paces away.

Their synchronized assault missed its mark, leaving them momentarily vulnerable. I seized the opportunity and struck with surprising speed, aiming for the hound on the left.

Critical Hit! [ - 15 HP ]

My blade cleaved through its skull, shattering it into a thousand pieces.

Now, it was just me and one last undead hound. It growled menacingly, circling me. I could see the slight intelligence in its unnatural, glowing eyes.

Whoosh...

The hound lunged at me with its razor-sharp teeth, its movements slightly more calculated and cunning compared to its fallen companions.

However, my experience and intuition proved invaluable. I sidestepped its attack with a fluid motion, narrowly avoiding its snapping jaws.

Seizing the opportunity, I lunged forward, striking with precision and speed. My rusty sword sliced through the air, aiming for the hound's exposed flank.

Physical Damage! [ - 5 HP ]

The blade struck true, causing the hound to let out a chilling howl of pain as its ribcage shattered under the force of the blow. Bones and decay scattered around, and the hound stumbled back, clearly wounded.

This was my chance to finish the battle. With a determined and calculated move, I closed the distance and delivered a final, devastating strike, aiming for the hound's head.

Critical Hit! [ - 16 HP ]

My blade struck the hound's skull with a sickening crunch, and its eerie, glowing eyes went dim as its head separated from its body. The hound crumpled to the ground in a heap of bones and decay, joining its fallen comrades.

Another hologram of rewards appeared before me, however, I swiped it away from my screen.

I wanted to get over this quest as quickly as possible and move on with my plan to become the strongest because now, all I was doing was a normal quest with no hidden rewards.

'Give me another group...'

Walking through the corridors with my sword held high, I began to search for more undead hounds and possibly even an undead goblin.

An Undead Goblin is stronger than the hounds, it is a monster who is considered to have at least some kind of intelligence that allows it to strategize and become a headache for players.

It is basically the boss of this quest.
