1 Chapter 1 - A Miserable Life

The Unlucky Generation are those who unluckily graduated from college in 2030 in country X.

If only they had graduated in the previous year or the next year, they would have avoided that unfortunate fate.

2030 was a period of economic stagnation in country X that was caused by the financial inflation that occurs because of a free loan of funds made by the National Bank of country X.

The National Bank of country X did a free loan of funds because the central government of country X thought the economy in country X would be more advanced with the abundant injection of the free loan of funds that they gave.

However, it had the opposite effect from what was expected by the central government of country X.

The free loan of funds carried out by the National Bank of country X has created a lot of zombie companies that can continue to run because of the free loan of funds that were given by National Bank of country X even though those companies had already gone bankrupt a long time ago.

The National Bank of country X does not select which companies can make a free loan of funds so it is the main cause of the emergence of those zombie companies.

In addition to those zombie companies, various kinds of ghost companies began to appear which were only names.

The emergence of those zombie companies and ghost companies has caused the economy in country X to decrease to the point it can't be saved due to massive inflation that happened.

Due to the difficult economy, a lot of companies in country X closed job vacancies to their companies, so a lot of people that graduated from college that year were unable to get a job in those companies.

In addition, those companies also make mass layoffs due to the current economic downturn.

Because finding work is difficult and the country's economic situation continues to deteriorate, some people who are unable to find work and those who have lost their jobs choose to end their lives because they feel that their hope of living in a world so unfair to them is non-existent.

Therefore, the death rate in country X is increasing rapidly until almost 30% of the population of country X is reported to have died by the end of 2030.

However, when the new year came, the central government of country X set a new regulation regarding a free loan of funds in which only well-known companies could make a free loan of funds.

They also closed all zombie companies and eradicated all ghost companies by imprisoning the perpetrators behind those ghost companies with a sentence of thirty years and they have to pay a fine of 200% of the loan amount they made with the National Bank of country X.

Gradually, the economy in country X began to improve and companies in country X began to open up job vacancies again.

However, those companies only accept fresh graduates which makes the opportunity to get a job for those who graduated in the previous year unable to get a job again.

Those who are unable to get a job again choose to give up and depend on their parents because they think that they have no hope anymore.

Even so, there are still those who do not give up and choose to do whatever work they can as long as they get some money so that they can fulfill their daily needs.

Alex is one of them.

He has ocean blue eyes and reddish brown hair.

His body looks quite athletic because he regularly exercises every day.

He was a very determined and unyielding young man.

He never complained about the fate he had received and chose to fight it with all he could.

When he graduated from college and couldn't get a job in companies, he immediately looked for odd jobs which a lot of people did too.

Alex wore formal clothes in the form of a black suit and black trousers.

Alex was trying to find a job in all corners of the city until he found a brochure on the sidewalk.

Alex took the brochure and then he read it.

The brochure that Alex read was containing a job vacancy from a small pizza shop as a pizza delivery guy.

Regardless of what salary he will get, Alex immediately rushed to the small pizza shop whose address was listed on the brochure that Alex got.

Arriving at the address on the brochure, Alex could see a small pizza shop that was already swarming with people looking to apply for a job as pizza delivery guys in there too.

He competed with tons of people for one odd job as a pizza delivery guy from a small pizza shop.

With only determination and guts, Alex managed to get the job and started working as a pizza delivery guy from that small pizza shop.

Alex lived for months as a pizza delivery guy and his hard work has been recognized by the boss where he works and he was appointed as a permanent worker at that small pizza shop.

Feeling so happy, Alex tried to contact his parents who he had not heard from for a long time because he was worried that his parents would be sad when they knew about their child's unfortunate fate.

Alex entered the employee break room and then he sat on the chair that had been provided there as a seat for the workers who wanted to rest.

Alex took his cell phone out of his pocket and then he immediately called his parents without further ado.

However, Alex's parents did not answer his call at all.

Alex who felt something off immediately switched to calling the neighbor from his parents who had been living next door to Alex's parents for a long time ago.

As soon as Alex called the neighbor from his parents, the neighbor from his parents answered Alex's call immediately.

"Is this Alex?"

An old woman's voice came from Alex's phone.
