2 Struggling To Stay Alive

"Ahhhh"

A man with pure white hair stood up all of a sudden from a stone bed inside a small room that glowed green.

"Shit my head," the man said, rubbing his temples.

[Immortal soul transmission is successful]

A voice announced inside the room.

"Okay, okay." The man stood up and walked forward.

He then grabbed a robe from inside the closet beside the stone bed.

"Hmm, handsome as always," the man's voice resounded as he turned to look at the mirror on the closet door.

This man was the Immortal Wilder

Wilder kept many secrets from his friend Jetson's

"Most great men fall at the hands of those closest to them." Wilder lived by those principles day in and day out.

Jetson's betrayal didn't surprise him too much he was already ready at heart

"My stash should have aged magnificently," Wilder's suddenly remembered something causing a smile to appear on his face as he skipped out of the room.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Hmm," he said, opening a stone container, and in front of him were several bottles of liquor.

Wilder grabbed one and proceeded to sit down on a seat he had prepared.

He was now in the room opposite the one he had woken up from.

This body was a clone.

Wilder had countless clones all over the immortal world, and that was how he was able to escape so many attempts on his life till this moment.

In fact, his enemies knew more about his secrets than his friends, which is why Jetson failed because he thought he knew Wilder the best.

"A drink to wash away my sorrows, Good bye, Jetson, your wine will be missed." Wilder said, as he gulped down the bottle in his hand.

He didn't seem remorseful though, Jetson had betrayed him; he deserved what happened to him.

But in truth that was just a façade, Jetson was a very close friend to him, and although he didn't need much thought to do what he did, it was still very disappointing

After a few minutes of relaxing,

Wilder then stood up and walked outside the room.

This place was a little secluded area he had created inside a cave at the top of an unknown mountain.

The atmosphere was beautiful.

But

"hm?" As soon as Wilder stepped out of the cave, he felt a sharp pain in his chest.

"what the…." Before he knew it, he was already bleeding from his mouth.

"defective body?" Wilder thought as he fell to his knees.

A few seconds later, his body fell to the floor, lifeless.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Ahhh," a voice resounded inside a run-down apartment building in the middle of a very busy city.

[Immortal soul transmission is successful]

The voice resounded once more.

A man with short black hair stood up from a stone bed.

This person was completely naked and he was of course Wilder

This was another clone.

The method was a gift from the shard of heaven's will. After he received the shard, he went on to create clones.

"What was that?" Wilder thought to himself.

He had made countermeasures for defective bodies; if the body was not deemed fit, he would not be transferred into it.

The first thing Wilder felt was an assault of noise from the surrounding area.

He had chosen one of the busiest places in all of the city to keep his clone.

Wilder held onto his head as soon as he sat up from the stone bench. The sudden immortal soul transference was not something trivial, so he felt some pain after it.

"A defective clone?" wild amused

All of a sudden he felt a tinge of pain in his chest. He had felt this feeling before, just before his clone died. It was coming from his heart.

Wilder looked down at his chest, but there was nothing there.

He then proceeded to close his eyes and sense his internal body. At that point, he noticed a gaping hole in his heart.

"What the hell?" Wilder looked confused for a second.

The hole was no ordinary hole; it pierced from the back of his heart to the front, and it was slowly chipping away at his heart.

It was then that he realized that this was the result of his being stabbed by Jetson.

"System analyze heart injury," Wilder said, as he proceeded to lay back down.

He was of course very worried; he didn't know what kind of weapon that was, but it was following him from clone to clone; it was unheard of.

[System is beginning analysis of host body; host is advised to stay still during this process to avoid any errors.]

The system announced inside the room.

[An injury to the host's heart has been identified

attempting to heal the heart... failed

Reattempting to heal the heart....failed

Reattempting to heal the heart….failed

The system kept showing notifications, and all of them appeared right in front of Wilder's eyes. A look of utter confusion and dismay soon appeared on his face.

"Even the shard of heaven can't fix this? What the hell did Jetson use to stab me?" Wilder said, in a grim tone

[The system is having some difficulties; host is advised to remain still while the system carries out analysis.]

The system resounded once more in wilders head

The system was very powerful as it was a shard of heaven's will, but even it was having issues solving this problem.

Wilder now knew that he was in deep trouble.

[Warning: immortal soul transference has been activated, transference in 5…..4….3….2..1]

Before Wilder could even think his soul was transferred once again

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Not long after wilder woke up in a different location, this time in a swampy region filled with trees, vines and alligators moving through the swampy rivers?

After waking up, he looked around once more. The pain in his head became more hurtful as time went on; he had never moved from Clone to Clone within such a short period of time.

"System open The laboratory"

Wilder did not waste any time; he quickly gave a command to the system and walked out of the room stark naked.

He was on the verge of dying; he did not have time for clothes.

A few seconds later outside the laboratory door.Wilder created several laboratories in all of his hideouts.

Yes, he had the system, but he knew the system was not perfect. Even when the Shard was part of heaven, it still got schemed against and was ultimately destroyed.

Wilder would not put his life in the hands of the shard or anyone else in fact, so he did his best to gain knowledge and power so he would be able to depend on himself if the need were ever to arise.

"Voom," a metal door opened up as soon as Wilder left the room.

He rushed through the door and went straight down the stairs to the laboratory, which was underneath the swamp.

Around Wilder was murky water and a few organisms swimming through the water, but that was not his priority; he went straight for the lab.

"Bring out the thousand hearts leaf fruit," he instructed the system as soon as he entered the laboratory.

And just like that a small compartment in the walls slide open.

Inside the compartment were several fruits of different colors, shapes, and sizes, but one particularly stood out as a ray of light was shining on it; this was red in color, round in shape, and it had several heart-shaped leaves sticking out of it.

Wilder quickly walked forward and picked the fruit. And threw it into his mouth.

The thousand hearts leaf fruit was a special kind of immortal medicine; it would reinvigorate the hearts, making all bodily functions hyperactive. The reason why Wilder chose this fruit was to curb the effects of the stab for long enough so he could find a cure.

"System check the status of the injury," Wilder said.

[The gradation process has slowed down significantly, so the host has more time now.]

A few seconds later, the system announced

"How much time do I have?" Wilder asked

[The host now has 30 minutes.]

Wilder sighed

It wasn't enough.

"Any soul transference from now on should be to a location with the thousand heart leaf fruits and a laboratory," Wilder instructed the system.

[Command has been cataloged! warning! The usefulness of the thousand heart leaf fruits will degrade in time. The host is advised to tread carefully.

"I know, I know, I know," Wilder said hurriedly while rushing to the lab table.

He had to find a way out of this, lest he die a death of no meaning.

,,,,,,,,

[Immortal soul transference is successful].

The system announced

"Ahhhhhhh!!!!!" Wilder, who had just woken up, screamed at the top of his lungs.

The pain was unbearable. He has had his immortal soul transferred so many times that he has lost count, and each time the pain was much more overbearing than the last, not only that the usefulness of the thousand heart leaf fruits became less.

He was now in a state of utter panic and helplessness.

He had jumped from clone to clone, but even at that, he had not been able to solve anything. The injury just kept getting worse, and every single solution he found failed

Wilder was at his last leg.

[System situation report: the host has transferred to the last body; this is the host's true body; the host has 10 minutes left.]

The system announced once more.

"Sigh" Wilder stood up and looked at the mirror.

He had forgotten what he truly looked like at this point.

"Ordinary looking bastard," Wilder commented. He could remember his life in the mortal world; he was just an ordinary high schooler when a beam of light uprooted him and flung him into heaven Will's game

The nostalgia of this face was killing him, but his heart was literally killing him.

"it looks like I've reached the end," Wilder said, picking up a bottle of wine.

He walked out of the hideout.

This was his final hideout, where he left his original body in the middle of Jade beast Forest.

Who would have thought that the most sought-after treasure in all of the immortal world was inside an unknown forest in the middle of nowhere?

[Complete degradation in 5.]

Wilder thought of himself as one of the most careful people in the entire world, so for him to die because of carelessness and overconfidence was truly pitiful

he closed his eyes and sat cross legged as if meditating, not long after a beam of light exited his body and flew
