Chapter 8: The New Student

Unknown POV:

"Hmm..it seems that the rumours are true, a Gold rank witch is found and a powerful one too. What a pity if she has to go against me." looking at the magic mirror at those six little witches and wizards tracking Tyn's scent to capture him. "How could you be sure master. Those are just baseless rumours" my apprentice said with a disgust look on her face while observing them in the mirror. "How could it be a LIE when you can see it infront of you. Look at that bracelet she wears, it's a Gold rank bracelet you IDIOT!" I screamed. "My apologies master, I didn't mean to make you angry.

"My lord, Mr. Tyn is here as instructed" said a servant of mine that came in. Tyn walked into the room with a prideful expression after draining the life of two humans. "You seem careless Tyn, your scent has been tracked by just six teenagers in a matter of seconds." I looked at Tyn waiting for an answer. "No worries My lord, they are just newly trained witches and wizards. No matter how powerful they are now, they can't stop me. I have a perfect plan on making their lives miserable and regretting that they ever tried to catch me. Even if I were to be captured, no one will know that we knew each other." Tyn said with a smirk on his face. "Very well then. Whatever plans you make, just be sure not to kill that young Gold rank witch as I have plans for it." I said while dismissing Tyn.

After Tyn left the room, "It's time that i put my son to school and put my plan into action. Don't you think so Reyna." I said as I look at my apprentice as she said "I will have it arrange master." she said as she left the room. "We'll meet soon young one." as I looked into the mirror.

Mal POV:

We followed the scent for minutes and finally reached upon an abandoned house. "There it is. It's that house." said Nick. "WAIT!" Anubis whispered loudly as all of us hide behind the bushes. A pretty young lady walked out of the house with some of her gardening tools, humming beautiful melody. "It's impossible, how could it be a young lady's house? I mean I really tracked that vampire though." Nick starts to scratch his head on what could go wrong with the tracking spell he set up. "We all should call it a day. It's a dead end here and it's getting dark. Our parents will be wondering where we are." I said, we all agreed and head back home. This case is still unsolved, the seven of us decided to continue our investigations tomorrow after training.

Mr. Principal POV:

I sat in my office after having a long meeting with the board of directors. It seems that the recent case of murders is something related to Mal and her group of friends. Suddenly my assistant came in rushing, "Sir please you have to take a lot at this immediately." she explained with an anxious look. "Calm down there dear one. What is it that is needed of my attention so eagerly?" I took the file my assistant gave me and was shocked to see the portfolio. It's the file of a new wizard that was enrolled to The Orb just hours ago while I was attending a conference. The rank for this wizard is a Gold rank Tier 2.

"Well i guess the times have changed Mdm Toss. It seems that in this era is a new breed of witches and wizards." I said trying to convince her not to freak out any further, but deep down in my gut I could feel that this is not a coincidence. Something about this boy makes me suspicious, his face looks a little familiar to me but I could not pin point where have I seen it before. Well this is because I travel around the world frequently to recruit new bloods and attend invitations. "Will that be all Mdm Toss? If that is all you make proceed with your work. As for this young lad, I have a feeling that he will get along well with Mal since they are the only ones in Gold rank." I set my feelings aside for the time being as it is something I could not think off. Maybe I should keep a close watch on this boy for the time being.

Mal POV:

I was late for training due to detention is school earlier. Oh please, just because I punched a boy for trying to harass me is a problem. Well it is a problem if he is the son of the state President, but still because of his father, he is nothing but a show off jerk. "You are late Miss Mackenna, please hurry up and take your seat." said Miss Brown, before the class starts a guy walked into the room. "Hello there Mr Jaccobo, so wonderful of you to join us. People, this is Caleb Jaccobo and he will be joining us from today onwards. He is a Gold rank Tier 2 student which makes him in the same category with Mal. Please take a seat Mr Jaccobo. There is an empty seat near the window." after Miss Brown introduced the new guy, everyone started whispering with each other. "What another Gold rank? Wow. It seems like Mal isn't the only one here anymore. Haha" Nick teased me. "Oh shut up Nick. Mal is still the powerful one to be exact. She is a Tier 3 and that new guy over there is only a Tier 2." Rose whispered back to Nick and hit him in the head to focus in class.

As Caleb walked towards his seat, the both of us accidentally made an eye contact. I quickly turn away as I could feel my heart starts beating fast and my face starts to flush a little. I have to admit Caleb is handsome but I didn't know why my heart beats so fast when I see him. "Your face is pink." said Anubis with an annoyed expression. Anubis is the only one that would always try to take care of me, well he is the cold type of person as Nick describes him. But still there are a lot of things that I could always count of him. Truth to be told, girls fall head over hill for Anubis due to his handsome look and cold personality but he isn't interested in any of them and many gets jealous at me, Rose and Rogue as we are the only girls that he only talk to.

"Mal you okay? Why is your face pink?" Nick starts to bombard me with all sorts of questions. "Nick! Would you care to explain what is a Chimera to the whole class as I could see that you have a lot of story to tell back there." Miss Brown called an Rose, Anubis and I try to control our laughter as Nick tries to explain what he was told.
