Chapter 16: Caleb

"So it seems like you will be assigned on a mission." said Dragno in a serious tone. "Yup. We have to try to get clues on how to find Cassy and stop her." I said while walking around the plain field talking to Dragno. "Be careful dear one. It seems that this mission you are going on is not easy for a beginner that just graduated. You have to remember one thing." Dragno said while lying down on the grass. "What is it?" I asked, he replied "Never forget who you are and your purpose. You have to find your purpose and never forget it. If not you will be lead stray." After that the scene vanishes and I woke up from my sleep. What purpose? I asked myself. I got ready, took my breakfast and head to school. I went to my locker then I heard someone calling me.

"Hey Mal, where were you for the past few days? I thought we agreed on meeting up for studies. I don't even see you in The Orb for training as well." Caleb bombarded me with questions. Oh no! I totally forgotten about the time we agreed on studying together. On that day itself me and the rest are busy training in another dimension. I was so focused on training that I totally forgot about my plans with Caleb. I can't tell him about our mission as it's a secret and part of the rules. "Oh I'm so sorry Caleb actually on that day I was assigned on a mission you see. He he..." I said hoping that he would not suspect anything. "But I thought that trainees are not allowed to go on mission? Don't tell me you broke the rules again like last time going on a unapproved mission." he said narrowing his eyes at me. "No of course not. I've graduated actually." I said , "But how...." Caleb stop as we were interrupted by the school bell.

"I'll see you next time. BYE!" I said and rush of to class. Thank the school bell that I don't have to crack my head on creating white lies. We promised Mr. Principal not to let anyone know about the dimension we are in when training as it is only used for us in this time of need. If anyone knows about it then it will be chaos. I mean who wouldn't want to graduate early and go on missions. But not in our case, we had no choice but to train there to graduate as fast as possible to gain more power to stop Cassy.

Right after school the seven of us gathered behind the school grounds. Rose will try to open up a portal to the Vampire dimension to find Illus and to know about Cassy's plan as much as possible. "Hey guys!!" we all turned towards the voice of that person that shout out to us, it was Caleb. "What are you doing here? I thought it's time to go to The Orb for practices?" he asked looking at us. "It's none of your business. You should go to The Orb before being late." Anubis said in a cold tone while Rose hides at the back chanting a spell. We have to get rid of Caleb before the portal opens, "Of course I will be going but what about you guys?" he asked, "We'll be there shortly but right now we are trying to discuss about some spells that we don't know before the quiz later. You know what happens when you don't do well in the quiz right. Ha ha" said Rogue hoping that Caleb would leave us anytime.

"Of course, if it's a spell I could help if you need. Here show me your problem." he said, "NO!!" we all shouted and Caleb was stunned for a second there. "I mean we don't need your help because it's just a small thing that we could settle it. You should head over to The Orb first because this spell is something that Miss Brown wants us to present later so it's a secret." I said hoping that he would take the bait. With luck on our side Caleb believed our words and head to The Orb. We watched him as he disappear from our sight and we all gave a sigh of relief.

Caleb POV:

I felt something suspicious from them, I hope that they don't get in trouble though. I hide at a corner then I saw Rose opening up a portal and the seven of them head in. I wanted to follow but I am not that powerful enough to handle what I'll face next right after entering that portal. I walked to The Orb and head to the principal's office to tell him what I saw. "I see, so the seven of them created a portal where we don't know to where." said Mr. Principal while sipping his cup of coffee reading some news on the newspaper. "Sir you don't seem concerned or surprised on what I am telling you. They could be in danger as they are all still trainees like me. What if something happens to them after all they went off without any of you knowing. You should send some people to get them back." I said feeling worried that something might happen to them.

"You're right Mr. Jaccobo, I'll be arranging someone to try to find them before trouble arises. As I can see they are a bunch of witches and wizards which attracts trouble." Mr. Principal said giving me a feeling of relief that they will be brought back safe and sound. But something still troubles me is The Orb is strict on rules how come Mr. Principal was not surprised when I mention about the seven of them. With that I was dismissed and I head to class as usual, right after classes was all over I head back home.

"How's school today son?" my dad asked as I come home, "Weird dad." I said while putting my backpack down to join my parents for dinner. I told my dad what happened today and he listen carefully, "Don't worry about it son, I've known Jacob since we were trainees. He will manage something." my dad said. Right after dinner I went to my room to take a shower then study. I plop open my history book on mystical world to study for the upcoming test. I know that a decade ago a powerful wizard named Vlad tried to rule the world but was put to a stop before he succeed in his plans. Everytime I see or hear the name Vlad, I could feel a sense of being proud but still I don't know why. One thing I know for sure is to one day waking up with no memories, only those in my childhood. My parents are both witches and wizards that's all I know, I wouldn't even dare to tell my parents about my missing memories. It's lucky that they never find me suspicious.
