12 Miyu: The Collapse

The months continued and nothing was abnormal about it. In fact, it was because of that the looming sense of dread that continued to shadow me no matter where I went. Even during the brightest of days that shadow continued to be there. It was all well until all of a sudden a large explosion sound woke me and Miyu up from our deep sound sleep.

"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!", I screamed out startling Miyu.

"I have no clue! Oh God look outside baby."

I rushed over to the window and saw my neighborhood up in flames. The sadistic fire danced through everything it touched and consumed it burning it down to ashes. Black smoke completely blocked out the sky.

"Oh my god. What the hell? Is this a terrorist attack?"

Before I had a chance to understand what was going on I heard loud banging downstairs on the front door.

"Oh, shit it sounds like someone is trying to break in! Miyu gets in the closet and doesn't get out until I tell you to."

Quickly I grab her and shove her into the closet and throw some clothes on top of her. I then reach under the bed to take out a shotgun. I cock it back and stand still next to the bedroom door. I hear around 2 men break down the door screaming about looting the house. Slowly I hear both of them walk up the steps. I hold my breath as sweat drips down my face. Adrenaline kicks in and my heart is beating rapidly. I aim the shotgun at head level to shoot anyone that comes in. Slowly the doorknob turns to open. Before even giving them a warning I see the head of one of the guys and pull the trigger.

BOOOOM!!!!

His head explodes with chunks falling all over my face and on the wall. His body flies with the force of the gunshot toward the wall. The body falls down on the floor convulsing with blood spurting all over.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!!!", the second man screams.

Quickly I cock my shotgun again and jump in front of the door seeing the man run away. I aim at his head and then I shoot again.

BOOOMM!!

He flies out the window that breaks and shatters. A mixture of blood, brain, and glass are everywhere. I listen for any more sounds in the house and I hear none.

"Miyu come out. It's all clear."

She comes out of the closet crying and shaking. Making sure she's okay I go over to her and hold her. I cover her eyes to make sure she doesn't see what happened.

"Don't look Miyu just hold my hand. I'll guide you out."

We step over the bloody mess in the house and walk towards the front door. Slowly I point out the gun towards the door and look out to make there's no one else outside. Having a better view of my neighborhood I see that there are multiple buildings in shambles and on fire. Pieces of ashes dance around the air. Unknowingly how to react to it all I can't but help just stand shocked and awe. What do I even do now? Miyu needs to be protected at all cost. Where should I go now? For now, maybe we should just bunker here for now.

"Miyu I think we should stay here for now and bunker down. That way we have food to eat and we can also hide here. We need to block out any entrances we can find. Okay?"

"Yeah!"

So we both quickly get to work and start preparing for anyone that can break in.

-A few hours later-

After working up a sweat we finally finished the house. As we did we heard lots of screaming outside. There were a few occasions where some individuals decided to walk past our house and look inside. Unfortunately, I had to kill some of them and to be honest these memories will never leave my life. Miyu walks over to me all exhausted looking for food.

"Good job Miyu.", I pat her head and take her with me to the kitchen.

Not wanting to waste too many resources so early on I make her Cup Noodles Soup. As soon as I finish her the soup there's a knock on the door.

"Shh stay quiet Miyu."

I grab hold of the shotgun and walk slowly towards the door.

"Ahhh my dear boy Takeru we meet again."

Slowly I feel a hand on my shoulder. Quickly I remember these feeling and I become as white as a sheet.

"Heheheh yes, Takeru it's exactly what you're thinking. I guess I should let you see me and tell you my name. You can turn around."

He lets go of shoulder and I turn around slowly I see a figure draped in a black coat with a red hoodie over his head.

"My name is Judah it's a pleasure to meet you."

"How did you even get inside?!"

"Heh don't worry about that right now. I want you to worry about this girl called Miyu."

Judah stretches his arm out with an open palm towards Miyu and then closes it. Miyu is suddenly pulled towards him.

'Ahhhh", she screams.

Quickly I sprint towards him to grab Miyu but before I do Judah stretches his hand at me with an open palm and a blue orb of energy shoots out from his palm. The orb goes right through my chest with blood gushing out through the hole of a chest. Quickly I fall down to the floor as I hear Miyu voice screaming in the back.

"Heheheheh Miyu if only you know."

WIth Miyu floating in mid-air Judah aims his index finger at her head and within a second a thin laser shoots out from it through her head. Her body goes limp as it's let go and slumps down on the floor.

"What foolish creatures."

My vision goes black and I start thinking of Miyu and what could've been. I feel myself floating and slowly sinking and sinking. As I sink lower and lower something pleasant tickles my nose. It's such a pleasant comforting scent. A scent of memories long ago locked away behind the gates in my brain. How much do I have to lose to get the love that I want? Are we to fade away into nothingness? Is this my fate? All I want is to hold you tight and in my sight. Now I've lost that. My memories will never leave me as they are protected by the inner gates. I don't want to lose that throbbing in my heart towards you. Wherever you go I will go with you and hold you tight. I will always search for the fragments that make you and me hold. Gently I land on a field of flowers with thousands of multi-colored petals are dancing around me as if protecting me from the evil of the world. My eyes catch a figure standing far away in this angelic flower field. It's so blurry I can barely see. As I close my eyes I hear a female voice saying something.

"Lux Agri is where you'll find all the answers. However, to find it you must lose it all. What you know is not what you know nor is it real."
