12 Found You 2 (Ch.16)

"Receiving Kalen's approval is enough reward, not many can boast of having received commendation from him.... don't push your luck." Wren answered him, he pouted, giving me a pitiful look to which I gave him a blank gaze, he sighed in defeat.

"I was hoping to be comforted but I guess the blank look I received is still much better than the usual cold glare." Greg said, Wren laughed.

"It's good you know." He told Greg, who sighed dramatically before motioning for his beta to place the file on my desk, I raised an inquiring brow.

"Files on people bearing the name Iretomiwa, short history and pictures, look through it to see if you recognize anyone." Greg told me, his voice becoming serious, I paused for a bit before placing down my pen and pushing my work away, I took the file and flipped it open, glancing through them.

I didn't bother much with the family history, focusing instead on the photos. Despite the fact that it had been 13 years, I knew I would recognize her the minute I saw her, her image has remained imprinted in my mind as clear as the day I met her. There hadn't been a day where I didn't think of her, there was no moment where she wasn't on my mind, there was no night she didn't grace my dreams with her enchanting presence, there was no second my heart didn't ache with longing for her, each and every day for the past 13 years, my little flame had been a constant presence in my mind, her hold on my heart so strong it didn't fade even a bit over the years, instead it grew stronger and stronger with each minute I didn't have her by my side.

I was holding on as best as I could but I truly didn't know how much longer my wolf and I would last without her, especially my wolf whose consciousness was already so weak, we needed her back in our lives, in our arms, and each and every day without her was slowly driving my wolf and I insane.

Sometimes I wish I hadn't let her go that night, I wish I had taken her with me and kept her by my side where she was meant to be, where I desperately needed her to be, if only I had known better, I would have never let her go that night, if I had known I would have to live without her for so long, not even knowing where to find her, I would have taken her with me that night, I would have watched her grow beside me to become the woman who was made to be mine and only mine.

These thoughts and regrets made my heart ache, my inability to hold unto my mate made me detest myself, I let her slip away through my fingers, what right did I have to expect to find her again?....but despite knowing this, I couldn't help hoping for a miracle.

I sighed in annoyance, pushing away the file, none of them had been my mate, none. Greg gave me an apologetic look and I turned away from him, he reached for the file, picking it up only for us to hear the sound of something dropping to the ground, I turned to it, frowning at the little flash drive, I raised my questioning gaze to Greg and he quickly pulled out his phone making a call.

"Hello, yes, none of them was her...the flashdrive, what is it for? , Really?, Alright, we'll check it out, thank you." He put his phone away after the call.

"He says his subordinates taped it from a live show while searching for people with the name, seems the name was mentioned somewhere in the live show or something....do you want to see it...." He trailed off, I contemplated for a bit, I was in no mood for more disappointment but I might as well get it done and over with, it wouldn't be proper to waste the efforts of those who expended time and energy to spot it out, I nodded at Johan who retrieved the flash drive and immediately connected it to my laptop. I gestured towards the bar and Wren got me a drink, he poured it out into four glasses, handing one to me while he, Greg and Greg's beta helped themselves to the others.

Johan stared at me, waiting for permission to play the live show, I nodded at him, taking a sip from my glass as the voice of an excited woman sounded out.

"So we have with us here today the first prize winner of the prestigious Akunna foundation scholarship although due to some circumstances, we can only hear her answers but that'll do.... now if you wouldn't mind, can you introduce yourself, we would really like to know the name of the lucky genius." The voice of the interviewer asked, we listened quietly, waiting for the reply of whoever was being interviewed.

"Miwa.... Iretomiwa Vicentia..."

A shattering sound was heard as my glass fell to the floor and shattered into pieces, the men in the office all flinched thinking I was angry, while I tried to hold in the possessive growl that was forming in my throat, I didn't succeed though as I let out a loud growl filled with possessiveness.

"Mine!" I growled out, rising to my feet instantly, their eyes widened at my words.

"Truly? It's truly her?" Greg asked in excitement, I nodded.

"That voice...that pattern of introduction.... 'Miwa... Iretomiwa'...how could I forget it.... there's no mistake, that voice belongs to my woman....get every information you can on it.... Now!!" I growled to Johan, he bowed immediately going into action as I turned to Greg.

"Where was that live show aired from....?" I asked him.

"It's a documentary from Akunna foundation belonging to Akunna corporation...city of Lagos Nigeria." He answered quickly.

"Akunna corporation? The same Akunna corporation.....it seems like I'll be taking that trip to Nigeria soon after all, inform the pilot." I instructed Wren, he bowed and also ran out to carry out my orders, I moved out of my office, stopping besides Greg to place a grateful hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you, my friend." I said sincerely, he smiled.

"Anytime...go get your mate Kalen." He replied and I nodded, rushing out of the office, my heart beating fast in anticipation only one thought on my mind.

.... I found you my little flame... I found you.....
